Those doubter/haters of Spence have not been Mavs fans for long enough. Spence was VISIBLY feeling out, observing, and deferring during the start of the season just as he did when he first came three seasons ago. It was only after Brunson's sat for a prolonged injury that Spence balled like a border-line all-star, notably as I can remember, 2 back-to-back game winners (BOS, NET) and a 4th Q 20-point comeback against GSW he spearheaded. Because of this, Brunson at the time has become a replaceable expiring contract IMO until Brunson had the sensational R1 series against UTH. This season, good thing J-Kidd kept giving Spence the opportunity and the green light to carry the offense and play crucial 4th quarters. Spencer kept his end of the bargain by being ready, confident, and staying on his lane.
Everyone’s underrating the mavs saying they have defense problems, yeah Klay isn’t the best on offense right know but he just puts his head down and played defenses to prove the haters wrong #gomavs
Klay not shooting well sucks sicne thats what he's brought here for. But i can see him making passes and not making bad shots like last year and also playing defence. He just needs to gain his confidence again and shooting will come naturally.
What a great question asked by the woman reporter to Spencer! And an excellent response. Sometimes one has to take the sword EVEN when they know they did everything right. The wheel always turns favor and will give just rewards in due time.❤
I apologize Coach Kidd! Today you did the right thing sitting down klay and putting in hot Dinwidie. Way to coach. It’s all about who is hot. Thank you coach, let’s go Mavs.
Klay looked dejected when he was pulled out in the 4th. But hey, he had way more than plenty of opportunities at the start of the season over the other newbies Spence, Naji, and Grimes.

These are the guys we’ve been asking to have around #Luka since his third year. #Lively has quickly become one of my favorite players in the NBA and I ordered a jersey two days ago. The next jersey I’m grabbing is a #PJ jersey because homie has turned into a hometown hero and a menace for other teams.
As long as you keep giving the other players the amount of grace you’re giving Klay. Everyone was calling for Dinwiddie to be traded when he had a single bad game. Klay has had many and he’s treated differently than all the new players on the team.
@Velveteenvision Spencer knows Kidds scheme already. He played with the Mavs before. Klay doesn't. He is still learning and at the start had to deal with an injured Luka not in game shape. Luka is now healthy and now its Klay trying to nurse an injury and get in game shape. It's going to take time. That's the difference on why Klay and Spencer was treated differently as Spence had no excuse to look that bad early on. Also let's not kid ourselves. I think this should be the rotation: • Luka > Spencer • Kyrie > Quentin > Jazian • Naji > Klay > Hardy • PJ > Maxi > Dwight • Dereck > Daniel I really feel like Jazian Gortman can be better than Hardy. He needs more minutes to prove that.
Naji doesn't space the floor and we shouldn't try to force him into said role so he can stay comfortable. Klay is getting paid to do that and he's helped space the floor even without big numbers as defenders are staying posted on him. I see Grimes helping with that Klay role(to help keep Klay fresh) than Naji as he is mostly Luka and sometimes PJ'S backup. Our main issue now is getting a real backup for PJ to keep him fresh. Him playing 35+ minutes each night isn't sustainable and he makes this defensive scheme works. Naji can't do what PJ does on Defense.
We have to play against the opposing team AND the refs usually. Luka for once got similar calls to the other superstars, relative to how much he gets hacked, and thus the victory.
He's playing solid defense. And even not shooting a lot or making shots, he's putting the attention on defense so Ky and Luka have more room to operate
