Awesome, I hope you post a video on using it and we can compare how it went for us. Cheers Chris

Looking forward to see how you find this and will probably even get one myself as it looks so quick and easy to you

I am working on it at the moment. Hopefully I will have a video on it in about 10 days. Cheers

I've been using one of these since last autumn.
Firstly make sure you use an aproved fume mask to stop breathing in vapour.
These work exactly the same as battery powered ones, the difference being they are much more hassle free.
The extension tube is useful for poly hives to avoid melting them as the extended tube remains cooler. Also for getting nearer centre of hive.
To use simply get scoop and fill it with acid, then pour it into cap.
Then light burner, then allow for it to warm up. Sound will change to a constant shushing louder sound once it is ready.
    Turning burner upside down.
Pick up cap with heat resistent gloves on and offer it up and cap push into holder.
Turn burner to right side up. Acid will then fall into burner and a few seconds later smoke will start coming out.
Set timer on watch or phone and smoke after inserting tube into entrance for 30 seconds.
Make sure entrance is reduced so bees can't escape and smoke goes in and upwards.
After 30 seconds smoke should be coming out of top of hive or vents.
Have found this to be most effective in keeping mite counts low. Results are instantanious. You can view Varroa board before and after to see how bad the problem was.
Will be using this treatment in conjuction now with Varroa strips because it is simple extremely cost effective and works very well.
Always believe prevention being better than cure and by keeping numbers low, disease creeping in will be lower too.

For budget those things are wonderful.
Why interpretation of the problem is lack of control for the heat range.
I can't remember what it is but we know that there is a temperature window that oxalic acid works best at.
    But for the money, fantastic!

Hi Mike. Yes, I agree about the temperature control. I am filming my first use of it tomorrow and I will have a laser thermometer with me to see what temps it produces and how well I can control it as part of the review video I am making. Cheers Chris
