I discovered Simon through Hiromi a couple of months back and was so impressed. I've always respected the technique of great drummers but Simon is on another level - such creative playing and wonderful responsiveness. And he's such an erudite and thoughtful speaker too. Great interview!

Simon i saw you with The Who 1989 Giants Stadium, i was 4th row center and besides Keith Moon - Simon is hands down the greatest drummer who ever played with The Who and his style fit perfectly with the band and Pete's songs -- they should have made Simon a full time member -- one of the all time greatest shows i ever saw and Simon was a big reason for that!

Must have been difficult keeping yourself under control while talking to one of your idols, but well done on letting Simon speak without constantly interrupting the way some interviewers feel the need to do. I think my first exposure to Simon's phenomenal drumming was on the 801 live album back in the mid 70's. Been a huge fan ever since and would buy albums by artists I wouldn't normally listen to just because he was on it. Also have his instructional VHS tapes and DVD even though I'm not a drummer.

Hey! Thank you for your comment. It’s always super important to me that when I talk to someone, I’m letting them actually “talk”. Simon was absolutely lovely and I’m so glad you enjoyed the interview.
