under the W-View option if you press 1 for app approx. instead of 0 for exact you can still use the multi line display but the answer will reflect how it was entered. if you input a fraction the answer will output as a fraction but if you divide it will show as decimal

This is the proper answer. Found out myself aftre my son complains about it - and I said - there must be some settings. But the "approx" option didn't came in my mind at first. It is the way how to use this calculator in the "human/pupil" way. Enter the equation in human readable format (as it is in the book), get the "approx" which means decimal point result and if you want, switch it to the fraction view with the button.

did not understand your question. if you have 85% on the screen it would be 85 and divide it by 100 and you will get 0.85
