- For the 53rd reaction video of season 2 of this series, classical music majors react to Taehyung's 'Stigma' lyric video.
(sorry bout the bad quality for this one. long story short I had to download, edit and re-upload the video that was already on YT so quality went doooooowwwwn)
Thanks to Twitter ARMY's and RM's VAPP video (www.vlive.tv/vi...) reflecting back on the WINGS album, I was able to write up and read short intros to each solo song before the reactors watched the videos. For our solo song marathon, I encouraged the reactors to pay 50% attention to the music and 50% to lyrics...except for Suga's solo where I asked them to pay most attention to his lyrics.

I've seen something like 6 interpretations, I like the one about homophobia (not telling anything about Tae's orientation), just reread the lyrics with this thought. This one and the killer guilt are my 2 favourites.
BigHit, give the boy a real vocal coach. Taehyung's voice is like an unicorn. Just look he is naturally a baritone, but he sometimes sings even lower, like from the deeper, echoing much, yet when he starts to sing a serie of falsettos, right after the Stigma premiere even some Armys thought that high notes are Jimin's or JK's, because Tae sounds so naturally in it. 3 octaves, 5 tones, 1 semitone - that was for 2017. He is developing his voice literally every year. His scale looks like it doesn't have boundaries.
I hope ppl who told him he isn't talented for singing when he was younger will regret the fact, because they've waisted years of vocal training for Tae.

Taehyung ddint actually kill his father! That's part of the story that is completely fictional. All of the wings solo's are about real things that actually happened. None of their solo's are about the story. Also, Taehyung never told any of the interviewers or ARMY's about what the solo was about, so it's a mystery. Not even the other members know. There are theories though but I won't get into that. If you want to ask me anything about the theories, if you even are reading this, then comment. Thank you for reading, I purple you!💜

I love this song because he is singing mostly in a falsetto, but he has the lowest voice in BTS. He has such an amazing range it's insane

That's purely subjective. Falsetto is one of the easiest registers. How good it sounds to someone is purely to the discretion of the individual and in no way relies on facts.

Stigma really suits BTS' V soulful voice...and that high note haunts me til now! Lmao...sexy, jazzy & full of emotions. V expressed the song's pain & angst really well...my wig snatched!
listening to this song always makes me so sad. it's full of so much pain and regret and the fact that taehyung had felt such intense bouts of such terrible emotions while composing this song hurts even more. but it also makes me so happy bc it's like a spotlight focusing solely on how effortlessly talented he is. i mean, the song is such a masterpiece?? the lyrics are so poetic and hard-hitting? ?? and his range is fucking incredible, the way he goes from a deep, low voice to also sounding just as good in falsetto.

Falsetto is a disconnect register caused by improper connection of the vocal cords. It's typically used either for stylistic effect or because the singer is incapable of hitting the note full-voiced. Falsettos are also not classified as high notes.
When I had first heard this song it had killed me because his voice sounded so amazing singing in falsetto despite him having the lowest voice of all the members! And the jazz feel really suited him and made him stand out more. I'm so glad that they all liked it and praised his hard work! Someone show this to V!!!!

Falsettos are not high notes. Only when proper connection of the vocal cords is established is there high notes. Falsettos are caused by the improper connection of the vocal chords.

It does actually refer to Tae's real-life younger sister and brother. He said he feels like he failed them because he left them when they were very little (to pursue his idol career) and he wasn't there for them. Because he was absent all the time, once when he came home they hardly recognized him and were very distant. It hurt him a lot. Tae is a very family-oriented guy. Now it's different. They ARE closer. But most of those songs are about past anyways.
No, that isn’t so. You must have got confused with the storylines of the albums ~ or someone misled you. Tae has always had a close and loving relationship with his siblings. He speaks to his family every day, and he has no guilt over leaving them. Tae, like so many, had to leave home to work. They weren’t so young ~ he didn’t ‘desert’ them, they live with his parents in the family home, which is now in Seoul, and so he sees them regularly as Yeontan lives with them while BTS are touring, and as always, they are in constant touch. Don’t worry, Tae has no problems with his siblings, Stigma, while about hurt Tae did not wish to explain, was not associated with them. The guilt for his sister in the storyline of the albums was solely an invention for the plot line. 😘💜
His younger siblings needs to be at most 1 or 2 years old for that to happen. But his family is extremely close with each other so I doubt that. And the story is already explained, it's based on their BTS Universe, with Taehyung having a younger sister in it.

My favorite in the whole album. I super love the whole album, all the songs are beautiful, but Stigma just really cuts through my heart. I seldom get to hear Tae's voice in group songs thats why i really appreciate his solo coz im able to hear all the colors of his voice for a whole song 💜😍💜

This is the reaction I was looking forward to most of all. Taehyung is my favorite singer in BTS and seeing you guys react to his solo song truly made me happy. His vocal range is by far the best in BTS, and I personally love his voice the most. This song was the deepest out of the vocal line in my opinion. Only being beat by Suga in terms of lyrical meaning. The beat was also the most unique seeing as he went for a smooth jazz. I'm glad you liked it, hope you continue to like the rest of his work!

Taehyung is my favorite member of BTS, he has such a beautiful voice which is for me not highlighted enough in BTS’s songs.. If you liked Stigma, you can also listen to 4 O’clock (totally different register but you may like it!) :)

His voice is so deep, husky smooth & soothing. It really gives me a goosebumps especially when he sings in lower note. His kind of voice is rare in k-pop I guess

I freaking agree with u guys about BTS and Bighit producers about using fake instruments like really.. BTS usually use some instruments in their music and mostly winds instrument but they faked it, like I bet if they hired a great musician to have the real feel, its 10x better trust me. 😂😉 I'm a musician too so I can relate. But still they produce real good music. 🔥
Edit: I wanna add how sad that their orchestra background (the co producer post on insta story) in Lie that they didn't add and its 10x better, than just electronic music on it.

I've also heard the original rough draft of Lie and the chorus was suppose to have violins in the background but I read in some comments that the reason they didn't use the original instrumental was because the instrumental would overpower Jimin's vocals.
+Lazer Luche Actually that makes sense. It would have been great if they added violin into the chorus but it would totally distract the ear from his voice to the chords, as Jimin's voice is so pure and idk, gentle? an added violin would have overpowered it.

Taehyung deep voiced hitting high notes was very interesting and awesome. Then the shifting of high and low notes was so groovey to the beat. I'm so loving him right now. Amazing voice.
