I just found this comment.. I dont why but I always think Jin says hes handsome just to deflect attention from his looks. I think he does the same with his offbeat humour too. Why I came to this conclusion?
1. He said in a video interview that this started after FIRE when started attracting a lot of attention and Jin started getting viral attention.
2. He's never been the narcissistic type except when he says he's handsome.
3. He uses it as icebreaker..especially during interviews.
4. He doesnt do "variety show gay kissy things" or "flirt" with ARMY he's far too blunt and honest. A narcissistic person would have all over it.
5. You can see during RUN BTS episodes that he doesnt mention looks at all.its usually the other members who bring it up if it's at all.
6. In an old Korean variety show he was asked to rank members. He placed Jungkook last and himself first while V placed jhope last. Jin commented you know this is all for a joke right?

The song was meant to be sung by V. I don't think anyone else could perform it better. His voice is unique. And just think about it: RM wrote it in 20 minutes, without changing anything afterwards. Amazing. I simply cannot control the butterflies in my stomach... everytime I listen to it, I discover new facets and layers to the song that I haven't previously perceived. And don't even get me started on the video. It was only after I listened to the whole album that I discovered there were hints about the titles of the songs from the album. Just pay attention to the scenes with the black background and white masks. It was as if he were playing the mime game, inviting us to guess the song title. I would develop on that, but it would be a rather long comment... Great reactions! Hugs to everyone!

Yes I understand why they don't want to listen just b/cuz it's not in English but a true music lover will listen to any language of music and your inner self should tell or connect you to the music without understanding the language.
Most English speaking countries feel once they don't understand what you are saying then it's no need to be part of it especially the old folks cuz the young generation are more open minded in the western Countries. Now when it comes to Asian countries the young generation are not as open minded as the westerners that is b/cuz of language barrier (English) they are more to their own languages cuz they don't speak English and their system don't encourage as number one. English language is only learn on a private bases and it is expensive if you want to learn English.

There is a difference in album songs and promo songs. Promo songs also called radio singles are meant to have the sound that appeals to the mass market. I think if the guy had actually listened to the entire album, all of their albums, he would find the music structure that he thinks does not exist within the group element. The sad thing is he and a lot of others make broad assumptions about BTS's music based on the promoted singles.

I have honestly never loved anyone’s voice as much as I love Taehyung’s voice. Like, the other vocalists in BTS have amazing voices as well, I love them too a lot, I’m not just saying this because he’s my bias, but there’s just something about Taehyung’s voice that gets to me.... It’s so deep and so *smooth* , I’ve never heard anything like it. I mean, of course I’ve heard deep voices before but not quite like Taehyung’s, there’s something so special about his. And his range!!! The fact that he’s a baritone but he can also do incredible high notes is honestly mind blowing. He can go from practically growling to deep smoothness to a higher pitch and it’s like......????????? HOW??????? Tbh what can’t this man do?? Ugh what a legend.

Takara Kim i dont think his voice is still considered underrated because its actually drawn so much attention to him. Yeah hes a handsome dude as well but i believe he is very appreciated in the Kpop community. Plus hes in one of the biggest boy groups in the world
i honestly think his voice is super appreciated even a lot of ppl thoughts they liked his voice the most. his voice always praised every time ppl heard it especially from musical experts. the only thing that disappoints me is that bighit doesn't really appreciate his voice probably because it doesn't really fit with their musics instruments and other vocalists, but tbh if they take advantage to tae's voice, it'a going to be blowing a lot of ppl's minds. he has that kind of voice.
Detaur I think tae's voice is appreciated within the fandom but if we're talking about the kpop community, I don't really think so.. sadly it has not gotten to that point yet. but to be fair, bts is more known for their synchronized and powerful dance skills tho, not their vocals. as for vocals, i'd say kookie and jimin's voices are the most appreciated in the group

Singularity is such a haunting song, beautiful and concise, but also very blurred and dark. It's one of my favorites off the new album, but I don't listen to it as much because when I do, I can't stop. The song ends leaving you hanging almost and it doesn't make me feel unsatisfied per se, but it makes me yearn for something, but it's hard to describe. Anyway, I was so excited to see y'all react to this! This channel is such a good one

Everything we've seen from BTS over the past few years, and especially in the last two as they've been given more and more creative freedom and control over their work, says to me that they're going to be an increasingly vital force in the music industry for a really long time, not just as popular idols but as real artists. I think it's genuinely exiting.

Singularity is a huge contrast to Serendipity, and it reminds me of Boy Meets Evil with the vibe and color scheme, but it’s completely different sound-wise with the jazz/R&B influences and V’s deep vocals go so well with it and it’s smooth and slow and it’s just gorgeous

Yup. This category of Music is called NeoSoul. It perfectly suits Tae and his voice, though.
Edit: this song isn't referencing Ophelia or Narcissus. This song is about someone who hid his true self (threw himself into the lake/buried beneath the ice, buried his voice, reached out his hand to cover his mouth) for acceptance.
But by the end of the song, he's coming to accept and love himself (the ice will melt and flow away). It's a part of the whole Love Yourself Theme and Campaign. To truly love yourself, you have to accept yourself. Every part of you.

I've never seen Henry react this much on a KPop video. They were times he would say he liked the song or the video, but most of the time he would just go like: "Nah, not to my liking." Then came Singularity and I finally get to see him react SO much. If Taehyung can bring that out of him, imagine what it did to us BTS fans, especially Taehyung-biased fans. I for one almost stopped breathing when watching it for the first time. He's just so amazing. Of course, everyone in BTS is.

I'm not even Taehyung biased (tbh they are all too amazing for me to pick just one so I don't really have a bias. I do however, lean towards Jimin and Suga because, if their personalities and struggles had a baby, it would be me. I relate to them too much too ignore that.) but I totally died when Singularity came out. It was so good visually, lyrically, and musically, that I had it on repeat, which I rarely do for songs.

Usually I'm just skipping the boy band Kpop, but danggggg this is really legit, so much nuance, chill and yet addicting. Really, this is the 1st time I really like Kpop from boy band (eventhough it's a solo). I really like it. This song is my favorite off the album. It never fails to make me /feel/ even just with the music. And Namjoon, he did so well writing this song. I always marvel at his ability to capture the theme and mood of the performer and music. I really just love this song so much.
if you like 'Singularity' I recommend 'Rain' (from the Dark &Wild album to bring out some older BTS), 'House of Cards' (full length version especially), or 'Stigma' for that breathy moody feel if not quite as laid back

The song is my favorite of the album because it gives me a weird form of anxiety but only in a way where my chest tightens and my heart races. This song Sounds so simple rhythmically but it is the use of the instruments during all of it that makes it perfect. It is also pretty slow but it never loses your interest like ballads sometimes do. The dancing is also at a different tempo (or doubled the time of the songs tempo, or the 1ands) the use of the coat rack kills me because it helps show that while some songs are about someone this one is actually about himself so it is him interacting with himself. My friend showed me a joke about this part and hand fetishes and I actually agree. I have not looked at the eng lyrics for the song so I know only a part of the meaning do to being told bits here and there but you can tell this is a meaningful song

ughhhhhh the blonde girl is sooooo close to what i think the point of referencing Ophelia and Narcissus is in regards to the album theme. Ophelia, who drowned herself because of love, and Narcissus who was so self-absorbed he allows death to happen. That's the theme of the album, highlighted in Fake Love, Singularity, and The Truth Untold. Its the dark side of love - tearing yourself apart for someone who treats you horribly for the sake of their "love". Despite everything that is good for you, returning to that person over and over again, changing yourself for them to the point of not even being able to recognize yourself anymore (the death of self). The masks represent both the persona of what the person in love wants their lover to be (conceals whats really under it) but also the change of self they undergo for the other person. (projecting a different self-image). I think the line about spring and ice melting refers to either hoping, finally, for a change in the person OR finally having the strength to leave the person behind. In those 3 songs in particular, the narrator is Ophelia, willing to kill themselves for Narcissus, who would allow it to happen and not care because the person they truly love is only themselves.
Either way, talking about a one-sided, toxic "love" IS a reflection on self-love. Recognizing unhealthy love and overcoming it is one of the biggest lessons in loving yourself. Its recognizing that you deserve the love of someone who can actually return it. That's the theme of Love Yourself: Tear. And Singularity is chock full of symbolism that emphasizes it.

I thought the Asian guy w/ the glasses and blue/white shirt (sorry forgot his name) listened to more BTS songs but I guess not cause it sounds like he’s only listened to their title tracks. Their title tracks most of the time are usually more radio friendly but when u get into the rest of their songs on their albums they are pretty experimental.
Khadijah Said I agree with you. Yes BTS does make radio friendly songs but they also have a wide variety of genre and their nontitle songs are SO GOOD. it's a shame they don't explore more.
I agree. It's okay to think that most BTS' title tracks are radio friendly, part of the fandom thinks that as well; however, BTS' discography is so diverse and people tend to forget that side tracks exist, whole past and present albums contain different styles that aren't common in the US music industry.

Also there was a vocal analysis where they said tae's voice is technically one the strongest vocals in bts. Considering he's the only baritone in vocal line and his range is well displayed in stigma and singularity. I think people need to appreciate his voice more than just his visuals. I may have another member as my bias, but since day 1 of my journey with bts, i knew tae's voice was going to be my favourite. I love all of their vocals ngl, and i have soft spots and i like certain things they do with their voices (ex. jungkook in the 2nd verse of dimple, that high note, jimin whenever his raspy voice comes out, jin - ALL OF AWAKE VOCALS and actually his voice in whalien 52 namjoon' whispered raps and in let me know his half singing half rapping voice, yoongi whenever he does his speak singing thing, and breathing, weird, i know, hobi with his, idek how to describe it...that voice in cypher 3......and tae of course, my most favourite cover of his, someone like you, and in ahl when he sings, "oh happy day~")

yes i feel like his voice also isnt appreciated as much as needed bc his voice isnt necessarily the best fitting to the pop music style. he cant bring out his talent the best way possible you know. jungkook has a great voice for that hence hes the main vocal, but i hope tae gets to bring out his beautiful voice more maybe on some more solo stuff he will release.

well, it's more like he trapped his heart under a frozen lake which made him act like someone he wasnt but after hearing the sounds of someone crying the ice slowly started breaking. What started happening is that Taehyung started to try to keep the mask he had on to hide his true self but failed as for he didn't want to shiw the person who was crying his true self.
It's actually amazing how all of this was made by RM who was thinking about Taehyung while writing the lyrics to this.

Oh my God. I think I would be sooo nervous if I ever get the chance to talk with Henry... Seriously, he looks like he knows so much and talks as if he is an expert in... EVERYTHING??!! Everytime I see him talking about something I just think "wow, I wanna be like this when I grow up"
The only commentary I didn't fully agree with was what Kevin said about BTS's music sound, but just because I'm pretty sure he has not listened to their entire discography,so I know he's mainly talking about popular hits,which are of course going to be the poppy in your face ones because that's what the general public typically likes/accepts,especially from a kpop group. I agree that they do have a lot of radio friendly songs but not all of them are like that;they've especially changed their sound up on this album Love Yourself:Tear,with tracks like The Truth Untold,134340,Paradise and Outro Tear;including Singularity.

This album is super great i love it so so much but no offense all of the songs except singularity are radio friendly. Just my personal onion though.
+ honestly radio friendly songs arent that bad lol since im not someone who really care about music complexities etcetera (but its pretty fun to learn something from it), id rather listen to the music i genuinely like. If it sounds good for me, then it is.

I love V's voice. It's so unique and it can surprise us in many ways.
I know this reaction is old but I was just thinking about how good this song is and wound up here. "It sounds like it's underwater" is 100% spot on, the big delays and reverbs and the formant shifting and sidechain-like vocals on the chorus, it's so good.
There’s also a lot of juxtaposition in te video with the movements versus the song and I love how active and precise the choreo is when the song is mellow and you wouldn’t expect such sharp movements to work so well with a song like this

agustdamnit same :/ BTS didn't start only with Wings (even though is kinda my fave album), but I have the impression that people only know them since that era :/
Yeah, it was normally the rappers that did intros, but now the singers are doing things, and I'd say it's more likely that people like singers in general because rap is a genre so only some people will like it. Therefore, the vocal line starting to do intros probably brought a lot of attention to the intros. (I think some of RM and Suga's previous intros are some of my favourite BTS songs. They are incredible.)
You Do You I think also that the whole LY series is protrayed by the singers so they are in charge to do the intros now, is kind of their era (which is awesome). However I'm kind of sad that people often forget about the intros made by the rapline and overall their old songs. Those are amazing as well.
I'm not a really fan of rap but BTS rapline made me their hoe, their lyrics, deepness and fierce while they perform them reaches my soul
