My friend, the Late Capt. Joe McGraw, was an FM-2 pilot in VC-10. He was the last fighter off Gambier Bay's deck before she was sunk by Japanese shell fire at Leyte Gulf. Joe ended up as an ace that day flying off the Manila Bay. LSO Lt Bill McClendon was our CARGRU commander in the Tonkin Gulf in 1972.
These are the coolest . Thanks for posting and keep it up
