RB Role Fits
Bell Cow: Well rounded back who can thrive on any run design with the athletic levers to become a 3-Down, "Franchise Runningback"
Slasher: Backs with speed and a "one-cut" running style who thrive on stretch or wide gap runs designed to get an athlete out in space. These backs typically lack either the vision or power to be project as a Bell Cow Back even if they might be a rotational starter.
Bruiser: Backs who thrive in short yardage with their power and ability to fight for extra yardage. These backs typically lack the juice to realistically project as a Bell Cow Back even if they might be a rotational starter.
Innings Eater: Crafty inside runner who can efficiently get what is blocked up on inside zone or gap runs, and perhaps a little more, but typically lack the size or athletic juice to realistically project as a Bell Cow, "Franchise Back" even if they might be a rotational starter.
Big Play Threat: Hyper athlete who can generate explosive plays on the ground or through the air when utilized and schemed up correctly but lacks the vision, size, or power to receive the full workload.
Receiving Back: Back who's running ability is very little to write home about but is a particularly useful receiving threat out of the backfield or flexed out wide.
"+" will be used to indicate a "Receiving Back" tag on any back who also projects well as a receiving threat
"S" will be used to indicate legitimate Starter upside for Slasher, Bruiser, and Innings Eater in the right fit even if they don't project as potential Bell Cow/Franchise Runningbacks
HB Traits
Contact Balance: Ability to absorb contact, stay upright, and fight through tackles
Elusiveness: Physical and creative ability to make defenders miss in space; including but not limited to juking defenders or using good body positioning with soft stiff arms to brush off defenders
Power: Ability to fight for difficult yardage in a scrum & truck through defenders
Vision: The combination of patience, decision making, and ability to see blocks set up one or two moves in advance
Ball Security: Observation of the player's fumbling history
Route Running: Technique, footspeed, and snap in routes out of the backfield or when lined up at receiver, relative to other backs doing so
Hands: Ability to secure catches (avoid drops) as well as show natural instincts to convert to a runner after the catch
Pass Blocking: Self explanatory - Спорт
ONCE AGAIN REJOICE OUR OPINION HAS LANDED
Ya’ll say this but will turn on the analyst when the player turns out to be a bust lol
@@riikyricardothis is the way
@@riikyricardofr, should’ve had Cody Schrader as rb1
TFG clears the common analysts though by a wide margin it isn't even close lol @shamr0ckk
@@randystrzyzewski7630 i agree
This man has increased my knowledge and enjoyment of the draft so much. Every year I look forward to these videos
This man shall never retire or I will not have an option on ball anymore
Dude I totally agree.
He’s a great one. Along with Trevor sikemma and Connor J Rogers.
This is what people should get from espn. His stuff is so much better.
5:01
LOL @ #8 on the defense. Dude was completely lost and got rocked 😂😂😂
I remember seeing that happen live and losing my mind 😂
I didnt even notice that the first time since I was just focusing on bucky but that was so funny 😭
That shit had me rolling 😂
As a coug fan I watch it live and it was worse from the other angle. Horrible play
I could see Bucky Irving being an absolutely legit kick-off return specialist as well. Especially next year, with the new kickoff rules.
W Take
Bucky Irving becoming one of the best kickoff returners in the league next year with the new rules would be one of the most fun storylines ngl
On the Bengals
Fan from Germany here 🇩🇪👋🏻
I just started to watch Football when I turned 16 (4 years ago) and it is very difficult when you are trying to catch up on a level of knowledge that others have been learning since early childhood and even playing it at school. Therefore, a big "thank you" to Marcus for making it so easy to understand his opinion on the prospects. The pro comp and the grades of the individual stats make it much easier for me to understand more about scouting and the game of Football itself.
A lot of love from Germany!
Let’s go, love to see this game going global
@@typezander6096 yeah, football becomes bigger and bigger every year over here. The NFL does its best to make sure to grow even outside of America. The Two Games in Germany were awesome
@@mickdock6178 what team are you a fan of?
@@typezander6096Im a Titans fan. Started originally cause they had that deep Playoff Run and I just liked their jerseys and the fact that they kicked Brady out of the Playoffs who was the only Player I knew at that time.
But I started to learn more about the History of the Team and even Nashville. Thanks to this I am listening to country music on a weekly basis now. So it isn't just the Sport alone but it brings some of the American Culture with it. And I think that's awesome.
So TitanUp!💙⚔️

Trey benson gonna be a stud
Packers gonna unnecessarily move up to get him
That Corum Ball Security grade is wild, considering he has one fumble in like 800 touches. And that fumble was on the play where he got that injury.
Glad I saw this B4 I said it lol a long with a few other issues elusiveness balance blocking hell it's all wrong
Estime did run at the ND pro day and ran a 4.58 greatly improving his stock
I ran a 4.37 at my pro Day 😋 a bit undersized though at 5’7” 170 they call me Lil Caucasian Lightning! A+ Ball security (Kung Fu masterbation Grip)
A+ Vision (Shout out to my sponsor Lasik, use my promo code: White Lightning
Just like to thank 7lbs 6oz baby jesus for my gifts, and any team that takes a chance on me wont regret it! Im fresh, plenty of tread on the tires with 0 collegiate carries, but what i lack in experience i make up for with heart!
Which is interesting. I saw other analysts who attended the combine say they ran on Astro Turf which is a reason for some of the crazy speed. They're switching for next year so speeds might get lower
I think a big reason Guerendo took a while to break out is not only did he have injuries and play with some loaded backfields, he played wide receiver in high school and was learning a new position when he first got to college.
babe wake up tfg just posted his top 10 RB video
not even 10 babe its 12 what the damn hell
@@oliverslot2642 just know i saw this
Can't be straight up Melvin Gordon if he has A Ball Security. 😂 Melvin Gordon without/ fumbling would be a pretty good RB though. 😂
Truth!!!!! Lmfao
@@ThatFranchiseGuyhe was good his first couple years
He was still good despite the fumbles for his 1st 5 years. But man his rookie season was rough 😭
@@imhotepnixonHe was good but he fumbled a ton like in his rookie season he had 6 fumbles and four of them were lost 😭 2017 and 18 were the only years he didn't fumble then the last couple of years his fumbling problems came back to haunt him
@@ThatFranchiseGuyI’m curious. I’m a badger fan and most I talked to were very disappointed with Allen. For someone his size he more often than not gets tackled by one guy. He has glimpses of how he should run all the time but very soft and can’t ever stay healthy. Are you seeing similar things and just grading him on the potential of being more consistent and more aggressive?
Thank you for the post, I've been waiting for this one for my dynasty league...really appreciate your hard work 👍
Always like your analysis. I agree with you like 90% of the time. I've seen almost all you rankings so far.
The fact you don’t have 100k subscribers yet is criminal
He’s getting there lol
With all the ridiculous sports channels that have tons of subscribers, it really doesn't make sense.
It speaks to the intententional dumbing down of our culture
@@drewwilson6639 100% correct
Love these videos because now I feel like I somewhat know what I’m talking about when I debate people on draft prospects
Appreciate the content sir. Great stuff
Love your videos Marcus and appreciate how much work you put into them! Crazy you’re not at 100k yet
I already know your having a blast making the cornerback ranking vid‼️ Love the channel bro‼️
Love the content man. I've really been enjoying the new ranking style that is more tiered. Really looking forward to your defensive rankings.
Ps: You should check out Jay Higgins tape after draft season. He's not coming out until next year, but I think he could be the next superstar linebacker in the nfl.
Great analysis on benson boss!
Great work
Great video
Love this content!!!!❤❤❤
Love the rankings, and would love to hear your thoughts on Tyrone Tracy out of Purdue.
Estime 100% ran the 40 at his pro day. Official 4.58 reported by Sports Illustrated
Saw that, not sure how I missed that cause I was searching for it
@@ThatFranchiseGuydoes this change anything in your eval?
@@ThatFranchiseGuywould this put him back top 5?
Also Blake Corum tore his meniscus, not ACL so not as serious of an injury but still needed surgery. Otherwise great video.
@@joeyperrone3168Any knee injury to an RB that requires surgery is “serious” imo. Injuries don’t always heal as expected.
Good job - Thank you
Just found you my man - liked and subscribed
Welcome aboard!
Thank you!!! Vidal is slept on fr
I went to the gophers game against Wisconsin this year and Allen was such a wrecking ball I was looking forward to your take on him
These videos are going to take my dynasty team to the next level, great stuff
21:43 Estime did run at the pro day. Scouts had him timed in the high 4.5 range
Great video, I agree this class is being slept on. Definitely a good shoutout to put Jaden Shirden #1, he’ll be incredible
I hope you do a cornerbacks list, this class has some really intriguing prospects like Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell.
But thanks Marcus now I believe along with Ray Davis the back who I think could perfectly complement. James Cook for Buffalo is Kamani Vidal.
I think bucky irving could be a receiving back who can also be used as a spread formation runner as a bit of a tendency breaker on 2nd and short positions where teams might expect shot plays from those looks
Damn thought you’d be higher on my guy Tyrone Tracy Jr still excited to watch
RB Rankings with Timestamps

1 - 48:16 Trey Benson - FSU
Thank you !
5:03 the cte kicked in mid play number 8 forgot he was on the football field 😂
100k otw 🐐
My Blake Corum comp is David Montgomery more slippery than powerful in the box. Didn't get to show it often with Edwards there but he's a 3 down back with good blitz pick up and good hands
love the title!
Just sat down to watch yt and got the notification!
Thanks
I saw some flashes of David Johnson in Trey Benson honestly
David Johnson is a scary comp to me. I think a big part of his issue was his lack of flexibility and his large size for his athleticism. His knees were just garbage
@@taylor_m_237 Later in his career yes, but before all the injuries he showed way better agility and had a phenomenal jump cut
The jump cut is what I’m always looking to see as my fave part to find in scouting RBs. Love that Lloyd is getting that love. But yes, he’s always looking for home runs
He’s back!!!!
What do you think about returners for this class?
trey benson is SO EASILY the best back in this class (unless you tell me it’s someone else)
Jon brooks says hello
@@Aburner960Blake Corum has entered the chat..
@@Justin-ij7qi corum isnt even close to

@@Aburner960tape don't let...Corum will have the better career
I thought Estime ran a high 4.5 at his pro day?
Yea he did
FSU fan, watched every game. Honestly thought you would overrate Bensons Vison and Elusiveness but this is spot on. Elite Speed, very good power.....Not great at finding a hole and once he gets going it takes a lot of time to change direction, does not throw in jump cuts. I do wonder if thats an every down back but certainly serviceable for 10-12 carries a game. I personally think our other back who will come out next year, Toafili, is the overall better back.
Also, to your point about Benson not receiving hype, lets get real, they tried to tell everyone that the entire team revolved around Travis, as if a 13-0 team doesnt have other talent around him.... Hes a Norvell portal guy, Norvell is extremely good at evaluating RB's...Pollard, Henderson, Gainwell, Gibson. Granted nothing amazing but that was Memphis. He can do much better and is at a bigger program.
Bros never heard of Warrick Dunn I guess he was 5’9 180 lbs and he was a beast…
Dunn was so nice, and a superb human being too.
Yeah, you just named one running back that was small and worked out ,also he was always in a committee, whether it be with on the Falcons or the bucs
Dunn had Mike Alstott. No RB that size can play 3-downs
thoughts on tyrone tracy? i really liked him was surprised as the video kept going to not see him
As a giants fan the very first thing i noticed on trey benson is the high and tight grip that tiki barber did in the 2nd half of his career. Immediately fell in love. Would love to hopefully grab him in the 2nd round!
Only series I like before even watching the video
Also, can we get some time stamps
Thanks a lot. Some time stamps would be appreciated
Do we think that the cardinals will take a shot at any of these RBs given their depth? Imo Connor only has one (maybe two…?) good year left. I’d prefer they invest thru the draft for RB but idk if that’ll happen this year
What’s your take on Carson steel?
@ThatFranchiseGuy speaking of Trey Benson in the late 1st, what about a 1-2 punch of CMC and Benson in SF? He could be a nasty fit in that system and long term replacement
If he's somehow available by the 3rd round, I'd love that as a 9ers fan. Don't see him making it out of the 2nd round at the latest.
Isaac Guerendo pro comp is Ryan Grant from the Packers. they run similar too
I love Estime! I feel like he’d pair awesome with Singletary for my Giants!
What are your thoughts on UNH’s Dylan Laube
So Allen actually left High School a year early. That means when he graduated HS he was really just a Junior (and was amazing, I know I had to play him his last year of HS).
Great comparison between Estime and Howard
Thanks for the breakdown. My running backs list for the Top Five is:
1. Trey Benson
2. Jonathan Brooks
3. Jayland Wright
4. Audric Estime’
5. Braelon Allen
Since my team (Dallas) needs at least one starter at RB, I did the 3 highest rated (by me) slasher backs and the 2 highest power backs. I think Estime’ is rated much too low by everyone else! Listen to the amount of carries each Back has:
1. Benson - 349 carries
2. Jonathan Brooks - 266 “
3. Jayland Wright - 398 “
4. Audric Estime’ - 349 “
5. Braelon Allen - 646 “
6. Blake Corum - 731 “
7. Ray Davis - 840 “
Except for Brooks, who was injured in November so he doesn’t really count but his carries are so low that I included his and Ray Davis’ carries. Both were way overloaded, which is why I included them, for information purposes only.
Also, I Liked and Sub’d You and Your Videos.
Speaking straight facts tfg
Best and most consistent football channel on RUclips. No question
Would love Bucky Irving or will shipley in indy as JT’s backup
My glorious king has posted again
My Top 10:
Trey Benson - Florida State
Ray Davis - Kentucky
MarShawn Lloyd - USC
Blake Corum - Michigan
Braelon Allen - Wisconsin
Will Shipley - Clemson
Bucky Irving - Oregon
Jonathon Brooks - Texas
Audric Estime - Notre Dame
Emani Bailey - TCU
Here comes 100k finally I'm stoked for Marcus
Hey Marcus- I know it’s not an exciting TE class but when can we expect TE rankings?
Best draft content out there!! Let go thru and re do every positional break down 😆
1. Trey Benson
2. Jonathon Brooks
3. Braelon Allen
4. Jaylen Wright
5. Blake Corum
6. Will Shipley
7. MarShawn Lloyd
8. Ray Davis
9. Dylan Laube
10. Kimani Vidal
There's reason for optimism with Jaylen Wright's vision. Wright got more comfortable running between the tackles each year at Tennessee
TFG you should take look at the rest of the wide receiver's and Dline
What do you think of Cody Schrader from Mizzou?
I can’t wait for the top 10 Offensive Tackles videos
Can't wait for the draft!
How does this class compare to 2023, 2021 and 2020?
Just throwing this out there as an idea for you, I think some of your younger viewers would benefit from seeing one highlight of your comp the tail end of the breakdown. Ie, showing a Jordan Howard highlight after the Estime highlights just to kinda sell you on where you’re coming from
Landing Spots.
9B - Tampa Bay (Round 4 / Pick 125)
9A - Buffalo (Round 4 / Pick 128)
8 - Philadelphia (Round 4 / Pick 127)
6C - Denver (Round 5 / Pick 147)
6B - Green Bay (Round 3 / Pick 88)
6A - Miami (Round 4 / Pick 120)
5 - LA Chargers (Round 6 / Pick 181)
4 - LA Rams (Round 3 / Pick 83)
3 - NY Jets (Round 4 / Pick 134)
2 - Carolina (Round 2 / Pick 46)
1 - Arizona (Round 3 / Pick 66)
Estime had over 200 yards in a game averaging 9 yards a carry with his longest run being 39 yards thats insane
But a lot of credit goes to his OL for that Stanford game, too - led by Alt and Fisher.
I'm with you on Will Shipley. He looks really, really nice. Reminds me a bit of Travis Etienne but I like him better. Give him a year with NFL strength training and he could fill out as well.
21:30 Err TFG Estime did run a pro day 40 and it was much improved in the 4.5s
I'd also disagree on the Jaylen Wright contact balance grade specifically, I think it's one of his strengths. When he's at speed, he just never comes down via arm tackles, ping pongs out of tackles without losing speed
Love the SEC disclaimers lol
I agree he runs through arm tackles, I think it's more of a difference in how we'd grade that. For me that is acceleration, size, power, and speed much more than contact balance.
Contact balance for me is much more about lower body strength often paired with stiff arms and breaking tackles when you aren't in your "burst" stage.
Also the ability to absorb a hit and redirect contact when you aren't the one dictating the attack.
Best NFL content creator
I see a lot of jerrick Mckinnon minus the pass blocking but a little more quickness in bucky irving
and obviously a worse ovr athlete
Mckinnons biggest draw is his pass blocking though, i love him as a kc fan but if he couldnt pass block id just let him walk
Agreed, Benson the most underrated player in the Draft!
Watch the NFL Stock Exchange podcast RB episode and Trevor Sikkema explains why he's not rb1 for him. But I agree with you 100%
i would love a picture of the players face along with your grades so we can get more familiar with the player
Trey Benson, Florida St
Jonathon Brooks, Texas
Jaylen Wright, Tennessee
Ray Davis, Kentucky
Tyrone Tracy Jr, Purdue
Know lower level of comp and injury to consider but Rasheen Ali production and tape looked damn good. I think he is the biggest RB sleeper of the draft. Speed, vision, contact balance and even some power. Surprised he didn't make it into your top 10.
44:37 Melvin gordon with ball security would be kinda sick
Estime ran actually at pro day, 4.57
I'm so curious what you think about Dillon Johnson
I love him as a late guy, kinda reminds me of Jordan Howard with better hands. I know his combine was disappointing...could be from his injuries.
Have you gotten to Tyrone Tracey Jr’s tape? I think he’s going to be a stud in the NFL.
Marcus where do you have Isaiah Davis?
I love Guerendo as a luxury late round pick for the Phins
With the new 40 time at his pro day do you still think Estime could be your number 5 back in the class?
THE GOAT IS BACK
I am biased but watching Trey Benson at FSU I could just tell he was different than any other RB I’ve watched. It was just crazy how fast he could move at that size. I also don’t understand how he’s being slept on considering he’s as good if not better than Dalvin Cook when he was coming out
Blake Corum got the most quickness and best vision in a pile. A couple have breakaway speed which rarely happens
