    Great show as always. I have been married my whole adult life and you still have to learn how to love yourself and be good by yourself. I find sometimes that single women will talk to me like my life is easier. I finally told one friend that married life is not better than single life. It’s just different. There are many things that I admire about single lifestyles. Both lifestyles have peaks and valleys.

    Really enjoyed hearing different perspectives about being partnered/or not . The most important thing is to be happy and content with who you are . Whether married , single, mother . We should all strive to be kind and supportive of each other . Am not defined by marriage or motherhood. When I chat with my friends who are married with kids . Make a point to ask them about their personal goals outside of mother and wife .

    I was happy when I was single because I enjoy my own company a lot but I was going on a lot of different dates and had fun doing that too! Im married now and we have been together for 8 years and I’m even happier now! My husband and I are best friends. Before getting married or even entering a relationship, it’s important to ask yourself “if I took the intimacy and romance out of this relationship, would we even be friends?” So many people are in relationships with people they don’t even like and wouldn’t be friends with. Great conversation from different angles. It’s been refreshing to learn a bit more about Tameka since she appeared on Bold and Bougie. I love that she had a name before Usher. Interesting enough, she’s the only woman that I remember being connected to him. She was an integral part of his success during the years that they were together! Keep the name, Tameka!

    Thank you #AcrossGenPodcast for another great episode. To answer your question, I am in my late 30s, never been married, engaged, and I do not have any children. When my friends find a man and share about their relationship, I'm never upset. I'm always happy for them, that they found a partner. I pray they get married and have a happy loving marriage. In the back of my head, I know that my single friend is now in a relationship or is now married and our time together is limited but when we do hangout I enjoy our time together. If something is wrong in my friends married, I don't like giving advice because I don't have first had experience. I do suggest they speak to a married counselor. I don't just trash their husband.

    I never wanted to be married-and then at about 39, I was open to the possibility so I prayed-for a man that had been married once before. I read an article saying that divorced men are more likely to remarry. I wanted someone who learned lessons, was more aware of himself, and desired partnership. I was married to my soulmate by 45. He had been in my face all along but I was with someone and he was married so we were not checking for each other and didn’t even know each other -we just happened to know each other through are large dance community. It’s about being ready.

    I find these conversations to be quite enlightening. If one subscribes to Genesis woman was created from man. The essence of her creation was to be in relationship with man. A helper and Eve became the mother of all living. This is why it becomes so difficult to separate the two. I discuss this in my debut book, “Evolving Eve: How Women Are Changing the Way We Love, Parent, Work, and Lead.” Yes, you can have a fulfilling life and be at peace with outside a relationship. You can also be intentional without the mind games, showing up in your authentic self and find the mate you desire. I appreciate the conversation.

    In regard to Medinah, now I'm only half way through, but her take on by virtue of a woman simply being a woman equates to she MUST want a man is highly problematic. Want what you want but know that just because thats what you desire does not mean everyone else wants that.

    • @rondotrucking9866
      @rondotrucking9866 4 месяца назад

      @@tiffanycross3444 I think all three of you ladies expressed a desire to have a man but I found it interesting that only one was intentional about finding the one she wants. I think a lot of our women are waiting to be found by the ‘right’ man and in doing so have conditioned themselves to be content with the possibility of not landing one because the older you get the more difficult it becomes; instead of taking an alternative approach with actually intentionally working for it. Most women value a “quality” man, but don’t seem to value him enough to work for him. There was a slight attempt to give pushback on medinah’s perspective on finding happiness in partnering with a man despite all ladies admitting that they more so desire to have one then not. It just seems as though many (not all) of our women who claim to want a man put more effort and pride into pursuing their career than the life partner whom of which would be expected to give his life for her if need be. If you disagree please share because I love dialogue

    • @rebeccairl2290
      @rebeccairl2290 4 месяца назад +1

      @@rondotrucking9866 Interesting critique~What is your determining factor about intentionality? "only one was intentional about finding the one she wants." Also, what leads you to believe they didn't take an "alternative approach with actually intentionally working for it."?

    • @rondotrucking9866
      @rondotrucking9866 4 месяца назад

      @@rebeccairl2290 great question. So in the conversation, Medinah spoke about working on herself to become the woman she needs to for the PURPOSE of acquiring the man she desires, while Tiff’s position was focus on herself for herself because she would like a man but she’s ok without one as well so the take away is: if he comes great, but if he doesn’t, I’m ok with that as well; at one point I believe Tiff even said she would like a man but she’s not necessarily ‘looking’ for one (intentionality). Which is totally fine because it’s her life, it’s just a point of interest that that’s NOT the approach that most of our women take when it comes to the pursuit of their careers. As discussed in the episode, it’s typically a lot of hard work, focus and determination to become very well accomplished. And to be fair to Tiff, she gave an example where I believe at one point she found someone who she deeply cared about and was willing to adjust her schedule around him occasionally, but the negative experience made her reflect more so on her approach with dealing with men moving forward instead of reflecting on herself to see if maybe there’s something within her that may attract her to that kind of guy. (And maybe in her personal life she did do that as well but that just wasn’t what was primarily expressed during her recollection of the story)
