Huge improvements on the NEW Fimi Mini 3. Several issues have been addressed but a few more tweaks are still needed.
Timestamp issues - fixed
Vertical Shooting (Portrait Mode) Aspect Ratio issue - fixed
12MP & 48MP photo Mode Video Transmission Lag - fixed
Speed up the update procedure - fixed
Started to explain update issues addressed - It's a start
Enhance startup process information - enhanced
Optimized colour saturation profile - Almost Fixed
We were worried having updates so close together, but on this one, Fimi actually produced some results. The colour profile is a lot better but might have a little more to go, or maybe Fimi will offer up more user options to customize results??

You should do a range ckeck on every update to see if it improved because the range on them drones are horrible
My location is not the best to test that. But It is better than the V2 slightly.
I'd love if they updated the transmission signal/range on it...
I also wish they would bump up the video transmission resolution from the craft to your device. The current 586p is annoying.
-1 EV is a must, in almost every situation, even in night shots (maybe i'm a little biased since i love underexposed shots 😅). Btw it seems a very lovely update, i will test it out asap and maybe i'll do a direct comparison for colours since the river behind my house was a little bit too green 😂. And yeah, the orientation bubble is completely wrong.
I agree.. as far as an overall update.. this one does do some good.
I'm glad Fimi has been watching video's and made some nice improvement. Thanks for all your hard work on these video's.

Thank you for this. The color looks much much nicer, but the CPU still seems to struggle to keep up with the fps. And at current prices, the DJI mini 3 looks more compelling. My only fear is parts availability. I have already been bitten by the spark, as it is very difficult to find parts or batteries.
There are lots of parts for the Fimi drones.. Heck I have 2-3 whole units ready for parting out. :)
Hello, can you help? I uninstalled the Fimi application and then reinstalled it, but now the 4k 60 FPS option does not appear, what could it be?
When you look at the options menu under camera.. you see options for 4k, 2k etc.. above all that us "Ultra 4K" in there is the 50/60fps options. Also you can only use the 50/60 fps option in h265 not h264. & .. no "Zoom" function in SAR for 50/60 fps.

I have 4 updates which was:
RC, ESC, CAMERA, FC.
After restarting my remote doesn't work anymore. Doesn't turn on, doesn't show LED battery status and doesn't connect to the drone. Battery was fully charged. I tried to connect to a charger and doesn't show that is charging. Connecting phone to the remote and pressing the power button once, start charging the phone but that would be all what I get from the remote. Any advice? Maybe reset somehow or something else
I have never heard of that before. All I can think of is to let the rc charge your phone for about an hour and then disconnect. Then press the rc power button once to see if any lights come on or blink. When you contact support , they will want a detailed video of the issue. BTW: What do you mean when you say you had to restart the remote? Was there an issue before? How many flights have you had? Have you had to charge the rc up before? Have you used the rc enough to ever drain the battery down to where the rc beeps?
@@GorillamansGarage It won't let me charge for long because stop charging after a very short time (couple seconds and then stop and I have to press again)
Doesn't take the charge as well.
I restarted both the drone and the remote after the update. Update went smooth and was successful but restarting them both was in my opinion a good idea just to make sure nothing will go wrong with the drone after the update. I guess I was wrong😵💫
I had no issue previously with the RC and the drone. I had probably around 10 flights before with no issues. I charge the RC fully before turning on and running the update, same with the drone batteries ( I have them three). Then the update pop up, so I run it and now I have bricked AC
I never drain the RC battery until starts to beep.
I was thinking about opening the remote and disconnecting the battery but then I will probably void the warranty since the drone is preety fresh.
I tried to connect to computer to see if something will pop up ( I was thinking maybe Fimi will send me an update and I can do it by downloading straight to RC) but it looks like there no such connection exist between computer and RC, nothing shows on the computer like I was not connecting anything.
I haven't heard back from Fimi yet.
@@mir1658 : sounds like a hard reset is needed (I would do the battery thing,, but don't tell). Have you tried holding down the power button on the rc for 20 seconds?
I'm about to buy the X8 mini 3 but I wonder if Navi 3 will run in my TX10 and pair with a mini 3. Have you tried?

Hi GM, thank you for your review of the latest Fimi Mini 3 firmware update. Nice to see Fimi working to improve the Mini 3. You finally have Fimi dancing.
As of now I would say.. it's OK 😱 but DJI is pulling the rug from underneath all the competition with their price drops right now. I get the feeling somethings gonna give soon. 😱
@@GorillamansGarage Hi GM, IMO DJI is trying to move everything they offer out before future DJI drones are banned in the US.
Green definitely looks more real and finally they stopped denying it, honestly I can't see any improvement to the definition&detail... Next step like you said is to atleast have a saturation control like all the other competing drones have. Personally, I would be more than happy to have a firmware striped of all the "auto video modes" and instead have a full manual camera. TY !

Hello, some status updates. After some customs clearance at fimi I just order DJI mini 3 at Amazon (great deal). Now I'm waiting for two drones and trying to figure out which one will stay with me... Any suggestions
Fimi has 4k60 48mp photo and fly with WiFi but DJI is DJI...
If it is your only drone.. I would stick with the DJI. There is no real use for the 4k@60 and 48MP photos are over rated. Go look at my DJI with the Rainbow App videos.. except for the NFZ issue.. the DJI Mini 3 can do it all.
This Fimi does not have fly with wifi.
Also regardless you'll be stuck keeping the Fimi because there is no return/refund and resale price is low.
PS. The DJI is the better drone but the Fimi is not bad if you like a lot of features like tracking, hyperlapse, and waypoints. The quick shots are great with the Fimi. Even better than DJI.

The cyan colour on the horizon is Ultraviolat. Put a UV filter on the front of the camera. There is a colour wheel that will help adjust in post-processing in the sequencer. Cyan's opposite colour is Yellow for example. A photography guidebook is an interesting read. Thanks.
I wanted a CPL filter for the FM3 but there are none.
@@GorillamansGaragethey removed the little attachment thing on the camera. I emailed them after my pre-order asking if mini v2 filters are compatible with the v3 but they replied:
"It is not recommended that to use any non-official accessories on the drone.
Hope you can understand it."
@@alfonsomigliore8271 : Yes.. No Filters.. Also the gimbal gears are not really strong enough for the filters anyway. I tried a few. You would literally need stick on filters.
it looks like 2k30 is a scaled down full frame 4k30 but at 2k60 it doesnt have a fast enough processor to scale and pump out 60fps so takes a crop out of the 4k60, now is that crop being done by the camera or the main cpu I guess we'll never know, but my bet is main cpu due to lag on live view.
Now if only they can update the horizon issue on _all_ previous models instead of leaving us abandonned as they have had our money...
For the money.. I suspect Fimi has an algorythm for everything and their specs (4k@60, 48MP etc) are calibration manufactured tricks & tweaks (illusions). But again.. for the money... not bad.
@@GorillamansGarage 48mp is surely interpolation, very common way to pump the megapixel number up for the non expert user (surely better than nothing, but it's not a spectacular feature) . Idk about the 4k60, it is a little laggy, but i feel all resolution and frame are the same, video misses some fluidity. I tried to lower the bitrate thinking it could be better but i got nothing.
Maybe laggy is not the right word, it does not skip a frame, but overall compared to dji (it's not anymore a flagship killer so we have to compare it to dji) it's not as fluid. It could also be fixed with an update, video are really in 100Mbps so i don't think there's a cpu bottleneck
@@alfonsomigliore8271 : I checked the 4k on the Fimi.. in MediaInfo.. max bitrate was 56. Did you see my first video on the Fimi Mini 3?? There is no way youcan compare this to any DJI product.. but it is an alternative.. But (I'm not a DJI Guy) but there is no other drone that even comes close to their intuitive interactive quality, control & output.
@@GorillamansGarage what? I checked with mediainfo for all 3 of quality options on the drone and i got c.a 97, 70 and 50... Do we have the same drone? 😂😅

These updates never do... on the opening App screen in the upper right corner (the one where you pick which drone to use) is the three lines (menu icon). in there you check for App updates. The only way to see drone updates is if when connected to the iNet.. a prompt pops up.
