In this video we will show how to replace the LED strips in this Samsung TV. It is recommended to take pictures during the repair process to use as a reference point. Be sure your TV is unplugged.
We have already removed the screws from the back cover.
    Remove the inner back cover.
Before removing the outer cover completely, lift it a little bit and disconnect the cable on the main board, and the cable on the wifi module.
Disconnect the ribbon cables from the scan drive boards.
Remove the screws on the bottom of the TV that hold the bezel in place.
Disconnect and remove the speakers so that they do not fall when the TV is flipped.
Flip the TV over and remove the bezel.
Release the scan drive boards from the tabs.
Using tape, carefully flip up the scan drive boards and tape them to the panel.
Using suction cups, remove the TV panel.
Release and remove the four pieces of the panel frame.
Tape all of the layers of diffusion on the corners to keep them together.
    Remove the layers of diffusion.
Remove the clear plastic clips on top of the reflector sheet.
    Remove the reflector sheet.
Using a small pliers remove the small rivets that hold the strips to the chassis.
Our LED strips have tape over them, this is because this TV is a tester, so these strips have been removed before and we are just holding them in with some tape.
It is recommended to use double sided tape on the back of the strips when you are replacing them, instead of tape on the top of them.
Remove the LED strips from the chassis.
Unplug the strips from the power supply cable and then they can also be disconnected from each other, by pushing down on the tabs to release them.
The replacement strips should come with adhesive on the back of them to secure them to the chassis. If they do not, you can purchase double sided tape and attach it to each strip.
Align the replacement strips and connect them to the power cable and to each other.
    Reinstall the reflector sheet.
    Reinstall the larger plastic clips.
Reinstall the layers of diffusion and remove the tape.
    Reinstall the panel frame.
    Reinstall the panel.
Release the scan drive boards and secure them into position on the clips.
Reconnect the ribbon cables to the scan drive boards.
    Reinstall the bezel.
Install the screws that secure the bezel to the chassis.
Reinstall the back covers and reconnect the cables to the main board and to the wifi module.
Reinstall the speakers and connect the cable.

How do you know it's the backlights or the part that sends power to the backlights?

JB weld light activated worked for me. It was SO easy. My samsung diffusers with not fitting tight, and superglue did not hold after 12 hours. The light activated was sold after 10 seconds.

@@KnowNotNo_I Lol, I'm just gonna get a new tv. Might try pulling the old one apart down the road, but I don't think I'll order any parts until I see what's behind the screen. Best I could find was $100 for 2 horizontal style LED strips and the whole thing will actually need 6 so bare minimum cost will be $300....plus shipping. Plus I'll prolly just fuck it up and chuck it all out into the trash.

How do you remove the retainer clips that hold the diffuser backing to the chassis? He just twists them off and then back on. Mine won't budge.

    • @seth0351
      @seth0351 4 года назад

@@DanielBjorndahl Turns out mine clip in and you have to release them from the other (back) side. Naturally you have to remove both boards to get to some of them. I broke two of them trying to get them snapped back in, but there are plenty and it does just fine without them.

As someone who constantly works on TVs and from what I can tell, being subbed to your channel, knows the ins and outs of all the major brands. I have a quick question for you, if you were looking to upgrade your 51" Samsung PN51E7000 Plasma 3DTV and you want at least as good of a picture as that w/ HDR at least what would you recommend?

If you look at the bottom, there are 2 holes at each corner. I used a small screwdriver to slightly pry up on it then used a guitar pick and went around the whole panel. It worked like a charm.

Hi I have a Sanyo dp50747 plasma tv. The screen will be working fine the randomly will start blinking off and on as if between scenes or between commercials. It does this at random times and I haven't found any common situations that could cause it. Totally random. It will start blinking very fast then slow down and sometimes stop for a minute in between blinks. And then sometimes it will be fine for hours. I don't get it. I would so appreciate any advice. I'm very handy with electronics but this has me baffled. Thank you
