When I heard this would be an original I was a little worried, as parodies have been a major selling point of Slashstreet Boys and The Merkins in general, but this absolutely SLAPS! It actually sounds like it COULD be a parody of some lost or unheard boy band song - just goes to show that these guys have talent and don't need to rely on musical nostalgia alone. I'd be down for an entire originals album if this is the kind of quality we could expect.

So far, Michael and Jason had been hailed as the hearththrob voices of the group, but Ghostface is coming in hot. Kudos for giving Jesse Trillet some more love to show off his vocals. Like others have also mentioned, Halloween isn't really Halloween without the Merkins 🎃
Ghostface always has a section or two in songs, but this is the first Slashstreet song where Ghostface came in as the lead singer. He gets the first verse, sings the whole pre-chorus (with Michael and Jason harmonizing the first part after their respective verses) and also leads the chorus.

At first I trying to figure out what song this was parodying, until I found out this was an original. You really nailed the vibe of that era, and you didn't need to match up with anybody else's lyrics! Always good to see creators push the envelope with confidence and do it well!
