Okay so we know they can officially do original music its time for a album. It's almost impossible not to drop it now.
So far, Michael and Jason had been hailed as the hearththrob voices of the group, but Ghostface is coming in hot. Kudos for giving Jesse Trillet some more love to show off his vocals.
Like others have also mentioned, Halloween isn't really Halloween without the Merkins 🎃

Ghostface always has a section or two in songs, but this is the first Slashstreet song where Ghostface came in as the lead singer. He gets the first verse, sings the whole pre-chorus (with Michael and Jason harmonizing the first part after their respective verses) and also leads the chorus.

Rarely do all members get solos, usually only 2 or 3 of them while the rest are background singers most of the time. That's Leatherface for Slashstreet, and the one time he sang Freddy interrupted and was basically like "never again" lol.
When I heard this would be an original I was a little worried, as parodies have been a major selling point of Slashstreet Boys and The Merkins in general, but this absolutely SLAPS! It actually sounds like it COULD be a parody of some lost or unheard boy band song - just goes to show that these guys have talent and don't need to rely on musical nostalgia alone. I'd be down for an entire originals album if this is the kind of quality we could expect.

When you all said that this year you wouldn't be able to cover an existing song and had to write an original song this year I was supportive but I felt a little nervous as I look forward to everything you all do on Halloween every and listen to your existing stuff on a playlist all October. With that said this is EASILY the best thing you all have done and honestly hopefully this is the direction moving forward.

@@DubPC563 From MY understanding they have been having copyright issues for a lot of things. As well as saying they ran out of ideas for Slashtreet for original songs to cover.
I've been ruining my algorithm trying to figure out which song this is parodying, but then I see in the comments that this is an original! You guys really put something great together here! I don't even know where to begin, so I'm just gonna ramble on a bit! There is so much to unpack, right from the lyrics to the dancing to the editing and wardrobe. The amount of creativity in this is absolutely unreal and the lyrics flow with a catchy beat that makes the head nod and toes tap. All fellas look amazing, and Michael's shades just tops the cake! This vid and song would have stormed the charts in the 90s, and I do mean stormed. You've got every single thing that makes a boyband hit and then some!
