    Perfect. There's a 20 dollar coupon now. I decided on the newer version for 120 rather than the previous at 70 since it's stronger lighting.

    When having multiple lyras can you adjust the colours of all of them at once or do you have to do it one by one?

    Hue because the Govee you can’t have two working with speakers & video like Hue you can’t add 10 or more lights that work together not Govee but the price will be a lot for this

  • @DillonConnolly

    The one thing I was looking for was missing. I wanted a side-by-side comparison of each color to compare the quality of the light output. I found less expensive LEDs have very poor color quality. Not as deep and rich.. Do the govee compete with the rich colors of Phillips?

    • @adamtalkstech
      @adamtalkstech  7 месяцев назад +1

      I know exactly what you mean. Govee is 8/10 on quality, hue is 10/10. other brand i've used are like 3 or 4/10 on quality.

    Direct connection to wifi is not an advantage. Having hub and working on its own technology is huge plus

    • @adamtalkstech
      @adamtalkstech  Год назад +6

      I agree, but there's definitely a lot of people who don't want to have, buy, or deal with a hub.

    • @gzamm
      @gzamm Год назад +12

      Direct connection to wifi is an advantage. Wifi and the bridge both broadcast 2.4 ghz frequences. All the bridge does is add another source that broadcasts 2.4 ghz frequency in your house (which your access point router already does) that can cause issues such as interference. Your basically just adding another access point router in your house.

    • @mikerivz

      When you start adding a ton of lights it can really congest your Wi-Fi if direct connect. Hue is just one hub hardwired and only takes 1 IP address. Not a big deal until you start going all out. I had 49 hue lights in my house and 13 cync lights. Every single GE bulb showed on my Wi-Fi.

  • @Rawzix
    @Rawzix 7 месяцев назад

    I’ve been wanting to get a bunch of light bulbs to change colors and dimming in app and I’m choosing between Hue and Govee… Govee is significantly cheaper as I can buy a 4 pack of light bulbs for 40-50$ and just plug to use straight with my Wifi. With Hue I have to buy a starter pack for anywhere between 150-180$ and then I only get 2-3 light bulbs plus a bridge with will take unnecessary space where my router is. Why can’t Philips just connect directly to Wifi instead of needing a bridge.
    This is why I’m leaning towards Goove; easier to setup with plug and use and it’s also way cheaper plus it doesn’t need a bridge.
    Only reason I’d go for Hue is because of a reputable brand (Philips) and possibly more longevity?
    I’ve heard good things about Govee so I’m sure they have good longevity as well. So yeah I’m a little torn which to go for but I’m leaning towards Govee

    • @adamtalkstech
      @adamtalkstech  6 месяцев назад

      I still like Philips hue better but I haven’t spent much time trying to learn Govee. I just bought some of the tv bars to use on my shelf and they look cool but have a few features that are more annoying than Philips. Light quality is really good though.

    • @adamtalkstech
      @adamtalkstech  6 месяцев назад

      Also on the bridge front… the bridge just gives a much more robust control system that won’t clog up your WiFi network. The bridge uses zigbee to communicate with the bulbs and plugs.

    • @Rawzix
      @Rawzix 6 месяцев назад

      @@adamtalkstech oh ok thanks, I thought the bridge used the wifi too since it’s connected to the router. Might consider paying more for Hue then… I have 600mbits+ internet so shouldn’t be an issue anyways but still might be worth paying more for the Philips then.
      Another option is Ikea’s ”trådlös” bulbs they also have a hub can connect to called Dirigera. Do you have any info or experience with it? Does it connect to Zigbee or wifi and do you think it’s a good option? I’m Swedish so Ikea would be a logical choice

    • @DzasterNL
      @DzasterNL Месяц назад +1

      No... I use Hue trough my whole house..
      The app, the support and the build quality is great.
      Everytime when I buy a cheaper type of lamp or light model it's not that good.. It's ok for the money but the light is just different. Most of it is only RGB.
      When in the lowest dim setting it's not as low as the Hue everytime..
