    There’s only a few voices on the board game design topic within RUclips, and I think you’re carving out a great space for yourself. Thanks for the content! Looking forward to more.

      Cool, thanks! its a very interesting subject and truthfully there is plenty of stuff to discuss. Glad to see you have a channel dedicated to the subject too. Let me know if I can help in anyway.

    Wow, thanks for the video. Now I know that in Rex: Final Days of the Empire(aka Dune) there are racing with the lottery at the end :) In 7 Wonders Duel there are multiple ways to win also. And your explanation fits almost all the games that I played.

    Stumbled upon your channel looking for help for board game design and this was really insightful! Gonna go through the rest now. This is a nice overview. If you aren't familiar with it the Building Blocks of Tabletop Game Design book is also really handy for this sort of thing!

      Thanks yourMoonstone! And welcome aboard. Building blocks is an absolutely fantastic book - in fact it’s one of the three books I recently purchased and reviewed on the channel. Do let me know if any other books that you could recommend : I’m always keen to learn more !

    Working out the winning conditions of a board game is, of course, all part and parcel of designing a board game, but it was interesting to me how little variation there has been over the last few years in determining what those winning conditions are to be. Hopefully, my additional three add-ons/extensions to determining your own winning conditions will be of some use. If they are let me know in the comments below :)

    I’m enjoying the channel! Great videos.
    The world needs more board game design content!! I started my own channel on the prototype and design process. My next video will likely be on the process of writing the rules to a game you’re designing. Any tips?

      @GamingIndoors  4 года назад

      I'll be sure to check it out! Writing and creating rules for your game is something I am still researching and interviewing on. I’m afraid there isn’t much I can offer just yet BUT stay tuned and I'm sure i will have something I can share with you and your channel soon.

    With the points Victory, you may also have a subtype of that, where you want to get different typem of "Victory points", and once you get an amount of a certain type, getting more of that type does not get you closer tocwinning - something like scientific Victory 7 wonders duel, where only the first copyright of each science symbol gets you closer to winning, Yes, duplikatem give you a different reward, but do not literally get you closer to a victory directly.
    Also, "player elimination" type of win condition, apart from social deductiom games is also great in two player games, anything from chess to magic to any wargame ever.
