I really love the fact that Richard is so relaxed and playful in this interview. It proves that being interviewed by boring people being asked the same boring questions really drains you, so when an interviewer comes out dressed like Gandalf, it really livens up his day. You can literally see the transition from dreading another interview to "Where has this interviewer been all my life"
Benedict basically being a human Smaug was awesome! Martin and Richard were great as well.

Woah, looking at some comments I'm surprised at how many people don't get the fact that Benedict is playing a game answering the questions as though he was Smaug/The Necromancer, not Benedict. Martin and Richard are doing the same (answering as though they were Bilbo and Thorin). Benedict doesn't seem angry or bored at all. It seems like he's having a lot of fun. I saw it with the Star Trek interview last year, he seems to genuinely like Dandolf/Spocko.
I know I keep reading "oh he must have been having a bad day." No he is answering questions as Smaug and the Necromancer.

To anyone complaining about Benedict being impolite: he was acting like the human incarnation of Smaug, as it's told in the beginning.
Hence the rudeness, the sharp answers and reference about killing creatures and flying around the mountain and the RAWR and hobbit near gold thing.
That's how good at improvisation and acting this man is.
Have you seen his other interviews? It's obvious he didn't bump his head and transform in a total arse, he was just amazingly in character for thirteen fucking minutes.

I love this guy. I don't want to hear the 3 things each actor is allowed to say about the movie said 50 times to 50 interviewers. And really, you can tell the actors get tired of it too. Seeing them get a chance to take a break and play around is a relief and much more interesting.
