The only time I saw TATA group back down from a challenge is when JIO came into picture. Honestly speaking they always had the funds to save the company but then there was no certainty as when the Ajani would stop. It is the same reason why Telenor Group owned by Norway Government (Largest Wealth Management Fund) left the business. Ideally speaking government bodies like CCI take care of these situations to keep a fair market but in this case they were blind for around 2 years.

Tata's PR is so strong that even you fell for it. Sure Tatas might have some good intention but this is not how their empire Started. Search their relationships to British involving in Opium trade. Nira Radia was directly tied to Tata. Nobody takes Tata's name because of the solid PR they do. Moreover can you name even a couple of their Free Hospitals or College (Other than where they operate like Jamshedpur etc). Reliance brought telecom revolution. Adani is giving competition to China. Tata cars are shit compared to even Mahindra. They are good for two things, be a tank and sit in Service Centers.
