that is whay i have always said, the FZR 1000 from 1987 was a very special bike, the 50/50 weight distr. the genesis concept was and still is amazing. Rpe makes it that has almost the pwr of a 2007 r1. it is amazing.
in the 1990 in germany there was lkm tuning fzr 104x cc cost 3000 euro 162HP an the wheel! arround 175-180 on crank. with standart carbs and Standart 98oktan fuel on a standart exhaust, only de muffler was changed to a Micron race! German Enginering 20year ago
Would love a YZF that could outrun a RR Beemer both on the road and track: imagine passing all the new boys on the straight. How much would it cost to build an engine with 180 wheel hp, would it hold together, also gearbox? The 98/99’s had ramping issues... was given a new 1996 YZF back in the day for a day after being pissed about the handling of a VMAX, loved it but wasn’t me back then, took a TRX out straight after and thought yeah, when they’re cheap second hand bikes I’ll have one, I’ve had two but got bored with the power though I still love them: had the first three gen S1K’s, first was best but this on par or better... hmmm, money I s’pose.
id10tcertified I’m running a 40 shot on my FZR1000 no problem and it made almost 180 to the wheel and almost 100ft-lb. Takes it like a champ. Will easily keep up with the newer big boys for sure.
It's hard to believe you can get that kind of H.P. out of an 87. I seen your kit on ebay and was wondering what cams and carbs you were using as well as the valves? This video is really impressive what would the reliability be with that much H.P.

before the EU emissions ban engines were raw carb power
engine type?
the race fuel must be nitromethanol.
