Hey, its the girl who's husband stopped you in whole foods the other day. Thanks for being so sweet to stop and chat with me! Hopefully I'll see you in there one of these days. Also I love this curly fro!!!
Whitney one of my social media buddies just told me you uploaded this and I got TOO excited! I drop everything to watch a nap85 special (work, friends) sike naw lol!! I just tried a wash 'n go last week for the 1st time and lets just say plainly, it was a H O T M E S S.............Hey they've got Madame CJ Walker hair oil, that's crazy and cool. Ok Whitney you just gave me an epiphany, we don't have to use gel for a wash n go lol, oh myg goodness...I mean I'm really starting to rethink the possibility giving it another try but use a cream that my hair agrees with and not that ECO Styler Hold On 10 Gel Got My Hair Like Coiled Concrete, my hair didn't like it at all. I like how your smushing your hair, maybe I'll try the smushing action lol, because the raking didn't seem to work for me. ......Man I love your lil curls! I'm telling you, you have the best tips, tricks and techniques. FABULOUS!!Thanks for this video, I'm motivated to try another round of the wash n go now because I really was gonna leave that style alone lol : )
your hair looks super cute! I like the idea of using the ribbon bands. I use the regular seamless ones I band my wash and go all the time but a word of caution for those with not so coily hair, the banding method will make your hair MUCH less curly and more wavy. Also, if you use those seamless elastic bands, oiling those bands is great to prevent them from breaking your hair
Still, an hour of water once weekly or bi-weekly is way cheaper than hitting the salon. And with all my hair, I can be in the bowl for no less than 30 min anyway. Kudos!
Ladies... please turn the water off while applying product. The steam will keep you warm. I started doing this because by the end I'd always run out of hot water. But it saves water too.
She stands in the shower for a long time but you can actually see when she turns the shower off. I feel like without the camera she's probably able to do everything a bit faster
Bruh. That hidden side pin hack just saved my crooked hair life. This is why you're my "fhairy" godmother. **harlem shakes vigorously through the comment section**
wow I spent YEARS wearing my hair like this when I was young because I couldn't do anything else. Thought I looked so childish because everyone else had straight hair, now I'm recreating it purposefully! How life change lol😊
Thank you. I was struggling with my baby's wash and go. I love your all your vlogs, you don't even realize how you have helped me out. Thank you again.
You are a natural hair care and styling queen !!! I’ve been watching you for years and I remain impressed to this day of your methods, techniques and general outcome of your hair ! Truly amazing !!!! Stay blessed ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I just cut 3 inches off my hair and was looking for a good wash & go method for the summer. You just answered my prayers! Thanks for all you helpful tips and product reviews.
Whitney, do you feel like your hair type has changed? When I started out, I felt like we were very close in type (4A/B), but your curl pattern seems to have loosened to a more 3C...or do you think it's just the products you're using?
after the hair dried it went back to look like 4A/4B. I think it's bc she wasn't using any hair products, so the curls weren't defined, that's why it looked like 3C. but Idk 😂
I've been natural since 2010, but I've never done a WNG. I've always been scared of how my 4a hair will look in its most natural state, without anything to camouflage it. This vid -- not only how amazing and beautiful your hair looks, but also your excitement and pride -- makes me want to try this so bad. Thanks so much for being such an awesome inspiration. Sorry for rambling. :3
I like shrinkage a lot and I like yours. Shrinkage is a blessing to curly hair, because you can do so many styles with curly hair. Long, short or in between. Your hair rocks 👌🏾🖤
I band my hair each night regardless of the style. I find that it helps keep my frizz to a minimum and my hair moisturized. Allowing me to achieve 6-7 day hair. Your hair looks amazing.
Love love love!!!!! It's amazing how long your hair is and then to see it shrunken up like that! And your curl definition is so bomb!! Those DevaCurl products are on my list to try!! Great video Whitney!! 🙋🏾
Yesss Whitney. I was happy to see that all the products worked great for your hair. It's grown so much from your trims/cuts. Looks healthy as well. Another fantastic video
Wow looking super great and beautiful! Your hair looks like it's done a complete recovery!!! Nap is Simply glowing in this video- one of my favorite videos to see you in these past weeks !!!!
Banding! All the way! Can't wait to try that out. That is one thing I always wanted from my wash and go as far as unshruken curls. Thank you for this video.
Awesome tutorial!! I was low-key excited as I recently worked with Sephora and these awesome products at YTNY and saw your picture in the hallway! Squealed like a little girl! #dorkmoment lol
I have been watching you for awhile, because your hair texture is very similiar to mine. You are so inspirational in helping me to feel more comfortable with my natural hair. I'm really trying to leave the flat iron and curling irons alone, but lord, is it a struggle. You have given me so many ideaa on what I could do with it, and it still can look sexy and girly and flirty, and not child like or outdated at ALL. I spent the weekend with my boyfriend. He's white, and I've always felt self conscious about seeing him with my natural curls, because all he has seen me in is different levels of straight. I woke up next to him with curly kinky hair, and I was not ashamed. Thanks for doing what you do.
Thanks for sharing these great tips. We have the same texture/curls, but I weigh my hair down with gel so it rarely looks natural and bouncy. I fear that if I don't, it won't retain the curl definition. Now I'm open to trying something other than gel.
I love that you showed us the elastic headbands that you use for the banding method. I have been making my own elastic hair ties but I have never thought to make headbands! A great video as always Whitney :)
Great video!! All of your videos have been so helpful in my hair journey, thank you so much! Question: are you able to keep your completed sections of hair out of the way while shampooing/conditioning/deep conditioning/applying product to other sections? Does the rinsing of one section interfere/wash out the deep conditioner that's marinating in another? Your feedback will be helpful, as I will be trying this soon. THANKS!!!
Absolutely no hate towards Whitney (i adore her obviously) or Sephora but I would never buy any of these products when there are so many black own natural hair products and small business I can support.
Please show us a wash and go using the gel oil as the styler! I have been wanting to try that but it's so pricey. You don't have to make a special video, just a pic on instagram if you end up doing it, would just love to see how it works on your hair! :)
I can't speak to how the gel oil may work on your hair, but I can tell you my experience with this product. I'm kind of on the fence. For my hair and texture (3c with some 3b, medium density, high porosity) I definitely need a leave in with this. It's not moisturizing enough for me to use alone. Also this has a hard hold. It could be lessened by using less product, but if you go ham you will have some serious crunch. This is not necessarily bad, but if you do not like products with a lot of hold or the potential for a lot of hold, this is not for you. Save that coin for something else. The gel is alright. It starts to form a cast pretty quickly, so if you rake your gels it should be fine but if you smooth your gels into your hair like the Tightly Curly Method for maximum definition it get tacky before you finish defining the section. What irks me about the gel is that I am not impressed by its frizz prevention which was the main reason I bought it. And it can flake, but not like crazy
+Samantha N Thank you so much for taking the time to give such a detailed reply. Your hair sounds a lot like mine, actually. So I think I'm going to hold off on it for now, especially at that price/amount of product. If I'm paying that much I would expect it to be an all in one. Thanks again!
Wash n go does not literally mean wash n go unfortunately with kinky curly hair there's no way we can wash n go literally without, dull, crunchy, dry hair full of single strand knots
Hi Naptual85: I watch all of your hair tutorials, they are great! I saw you on the Shea Moisture commercial while watching Empire last week. You go girl!
DevaCurl products are pricey, so for anyone who wants to try them, google "devacurl curls up combs down" and you'll see a sample pack with smaller products of what Whitney used. It's still pricey, but you get a little more for your dollar.
maybe you need to moisturize more! I've struggled with the same thing, hun! But I fixed it ever since I started pre pooing with oils instead of conditioner and I also pre pooed even with co-washing. And I also came up with a mix that worked for me Idk if it will for you it's worth the try tho cause it's all natural. I took a leaf of aloe vera, destiled water, rosehip oil, argan oil, castor oil and jojoba oil, tea tree oil (I bought these oils in burlington actually. I found some of those really cheap they were $1.99 those were the ones I used the most to mess around with, but the other ones were also relatively inexpensive, just not as cheap as teo dollars. Plus, hun, life ain't cheap and I ain't made of money so I don't use the ones I payed full ticket to try something that I'm not sure will work, but it did so... lol) then I mixed that concoction in the blender (just the inside transparent part of the aloe vera leaf is what you use just in case lol) stored it in the fridge in a plasfic bottle. when I wash my hair I just poor it on after rinsing out the conditioner and I use another oils to seal it. the style it in whatever way I like. It stays very hydrated, defined and shinny too! all day! unless I mess with my scalp or something of that nature. You should try it out at least once to see if you get a positive result! (but only try if there's no possibility of harm to you or your hair) ! good luck!
Very nice. What hair color brand do you use? Does it always shrink this much, or is it due to the products? It looks so soft and beautiful regardless...and you did a good job on the show.
Your hair is beautiful. Using this banding method or even on a twistout, how long does it take to air dry or are you using a hair dryer? My hair takes FOR EVER
You vids are always right on time! I've been doing w&g's for about 3 weeks now & decided to make it my spring/summer go to. I'm interested in trying that cream styler! I'm focusing now on going through my store bought gels so I can go back to homemade without feeling like I'm throwing away money. But I may have to give the cream styler a try. I'm going to try the banding method later in the season. Right now I'm enjoying the shrinkage. My BSL hair shrinks up to one hell of a 'fro about mid-ear in length. Gotta love it!
Gorgeous! I had no idea the Decadence line from deva curl worked so well for Coily hair. Definitely want to give it a try. You should also try the gel-oil from bumble and bumble. I hear it's quite amazing for Coily and curly hair.
me too. So easy to forget about shrinkage! That means I'm going to have to grow my hair for like 100 yrs to get it to look like that after a wash and go.... kmt I'll do it one day.
Love love love. I really didn't know Sephora was helping out us natural sistas tho but thank god they do, this is the best wash n go she's ever had!!!! 😍😍😍
Try using crocodile clips along the sections instead of hair ties. When I use hair ties, my curl pattern gets too streched and stringy looking. However, the clips gave my hair the perfect stretch while keeping my curl pattern
i love your videos. Because of you my hairs in good condition. I frequently DIY oil overnight &/or deep condition. Question, is co-washing sufficient enough before applying a temporary color?
Once again, beautiful healthy curls!!!! I love them! Plus, you are my hair "twin." I've been following you for years! I found if I do a "wash-and-go-the next day" my hair doesn't shrink up as much, nor does it take as long to dry because I let it dry "naked" (without product--just the oil left over from the oil rinse) the night before. I lightly spritz it in the morning THEN add the curling gel/products. Same curl definition, a bit stretched out, and much shorter drying time. I'd like to know if this works for you....
I love your shrinkage. It's a whole new look without cutting.
Your shrinkage is insane! But you get to enjoy flaunting your long hair and also the look of a short cut whenever you please 😍 so versatile
Hey, its the girl who's husband stopped you in whole foods the other day. Thanks for being so sweet to stop and chat with me! Hopefully I'll see you in there one of these days. Also I love this curly fro!!!
+Bubs Bee lol i know im not naptural85 but i just read this comment and thought that was pretty cool that you saw her in whole foods lol!

Before watching, I actually thought you cut your hair :o

Your hair is so healthy and moisturized! What do you use as a daily moisturizer?
your hair looks super cute! I like the idea of using the ribbon bands. I use the regular seamless ones

Fine Natural Hair and Faith thanks!!
Oil the bands?? Genius
I love how well spoken you are in your voice overs!
I feel like natural haired gurus' water bills are through the roof 😂😂😂
I'm pretty sure it's true. She said she is usually in the shower for about an 1 hour or more when she's doing her videos lol
lol
Still, an hour of water once weekly or bi-weekly is way cheaper than hitting the salon. And with all my hair, I can be in the bowl for no less than 30 min anyway. Kudos!

Oh my gosh! Your skin is so clear! And, I have locs so I can't do this style, but it's nice to watch your tutorials. They're so easy to follow!
Not just why I'm watching this, I'm white. I just think her hair is stunning 😍😍😍
most of the videos I subscribe to don't have the same texture as I I just like watching them 😊
aww thats a very nice thing to say ☺
hair and make up videos are so fun to watch in general lol i like watching girls do their make up even though i never wear make up, it's fascinating!
Zoe Robillard so sweet. 💜
@Zoe Robi: Lovely comment 👄👌🏾😊
Whitney that tip for uneven hair is everything! I'm going through that right now and struggle most days. You are genius :)
yes Whitney get that sponsorship deals
wow I spent YEARS wearing my hair like this when I was young because I couldn't do anything else. Thought I looked so childish because everyone else had straight hair, now I'm recreating it purposefully! How life change lol😊
The shrinkage is REAL!!! Pretty
Thank you. I was struggling with my baby's wash and go. I love your all your vlogs, you don't even realize how you have helped me out. Thank you again.
Your hair is beautiful, that jet black color is LIFE!!!😀 TFS
Xo! Thank you!! +Jamie Braxton 💗💗
You are a natural hair care and styling queen !!! I’ve been watching you for years and I remain impressed to this day of your methods, techniques and general outcome of your hair ! Truly amazing !!!! Stay blessed ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Omg i wish i had the same hair texture as yours nothing curlier nothing looser, it's just perfect !!
Same here! It's just perfection
I just cut 3 inches off my hair and was looking for a good wash & go method for the summer. You just answered my prayers! Thanks for all you helpful tips and product reviews.
i love your wash and go!
Xo! Thanks +JourneyTo WaistLength ! 💗
This is giving me life , I can watch this over and over again .

Whitney's hair is one of my life goals. I can never stop watching her wash videos
Never thought I'd see the day where whit's wash and go would be the same length as mine lol the shrinkage is real
SO cute! Never thought to combine banding with a wash and go, genius!
Omg. The banding method gives me hope to try another try!
Naptural85, Napturalme4c, and SunKissAlba have all reviewed the same products, by Sephora, on the same day!
Haha! They wanted us to get it up today! +Sincerely Shans 😆😆💗💗
I like shrinkage a lot and I like yours. Shrinkage is a blessing to curly hair, because you can do so many styles with curly hair. Long, short or in between. Your hair rocks 👌🏾🖤
Since your hair is shorter, would you ever consider doing mini twists again?
I band my hair each night regardless of the style. I find that it helps keep my frizz to a minimum and my hair moisturized. Allowing me to achieve 6-7 day hair. Your hair looks amazing.
I'll be trying the banding method on mine. thanks for the video!
Love love love!!!!! It's amazing how long your hair is and then to see it shrunken up like that! And your curl definition is so bomb!! Those DevaCurl products are on my list to try!! Great video Whitney!! 🙋🏾
Short hair suits u so well Whitney ❤️❤️
It does! She looks so youthful and makes her facial features Pop
Yesss Whitney. I was happy to see that all the products worked great for your hair. It's grown so much from your trims/cuts. Looks healthy as well. Another fantastic video
That 100% shrunken hair!! Wow!!! Curly hair is so amazing sometimes haha.
I could watch the video 100 times and I wouldn't get bored. Your hair is life!
Sooooo glad I went back to locs. 18mos of loose natural was enough for me after picking out my first set. Whew watching this made me tired lol
+Rashida Brooks Made me tired too and my hair is "loose natural." If I'm trying Wash and Go, I'm washing and then going. But to each her own
+Christine Umeh Agreed! Minimal products and styling, and styling time.
OMG imagine me, I have a 3 year old with this exact same texture/curl pattern down to her butt. Kill me now.
My sister showed me your channel and I'm glad she did, I've learned so much more of how to take care and style my hair😊
yaaaassssss whit sllaaaaaayyyyyy

Curls galore 😍😍😍
I have the same problem with the shorter sides, I tried your Bobbi pin method and I love it. Girl you are a hair genius.
Your curls are poppin! 😍😍😍
Great video. Shrinkage is insane!!! Glad to know in not the only one w uneven hair at the moment.
That hair hack with the boby pins tho...😄 show us more. great job.
ikr?!?...she's a genius!
Indeed! I was like brilliant!!!
I've never seen the banding method used on a wash and go!!! looks nice. The look was beautiful and your eyebrows are so thick and gorgeous!
Could you do product reviews for the items you tried on your blog? The results look amazing but I'd like to know what you thought of everything.
Banding! All the way! Can't wait to try that out. That is one thing I always wanted from my wash and go as far as unshruken curls. Thank you for this video.
Yaaass gorgeous! Makes me want to attempt a wash n go again 😍😍😍
I've watched many of your videos... And this is my absolute favorite style so far. Your curls look super defined
Im loving the song in the intro! Whats the name that song? I wanna use it in my vids 😍
How is it that your hair doesn't become super tangled after day one? Do you re-apply gel on your hair to lay your edges?
Naptural85 does your hair dry crunchy or firm and soft,
I like this. My 4c hair always shrinks so much when I do wash N go's. Definitely gonna try this for a lengthier look. Thanks.
Shrinkage will never stop amazing me... Beautiful was n go!
Xo! Thank you! +natasha abreu 💗💗💗
Yaaaay! You're my hair twin! 🤗 As soon as my hair grows back after my big chop recently it will exactly like yours!
Awesome tutorial!! I was low-key excited as I recently worked with Sephora and these awesome products at YTNY and saw your picture in the hallway! Squealed like a little girl! #dorkmoment lol

You have the effect on me 💕💕💕💕. lol 👏👏👏👏
Same here!
Tondra Hailey yasssss. .......😣😣 her hair is goals !!!
I've never seen the banding method used on a wash and go. I have to try this. Yours came out so good.
The pin trick on the side, i never thought of that, i wonder how it would work for me since my hair isnt as thick.. hmmm.. still worth a try
I am loving this short hair on you! It frames your face so well. You look marvelous, Darling!!
Need to try me some deva curl
I love that you showed us the elastic headbands that you use for the banding method. I have been making my own elastic hair ties but I have never thought to make headbands! A great video as always Whitney :)
I love you and your hair!! Absolutely stunning!!
Xo! Thank you so much +Wava's Way ! 💗💗💗
Great video!! All of your videos have been so helpful in my hair journey, thank you so much! Question: are you able to keep your completed sections of hair out of the way while shampooing/conditioning/deep conditioning/applying product to other sections? Absolutely no hate towards Whitney (i adore her obviously) or Sephora but I would never buy any of these products when there are so many black own natural hair products and small business I can support.
And that price 😩😩
I think Briogeo is black owned
Please show us a wash and go using the gel oil as the styler! I have been wanting to try that but it's so pricey. You don't have to make a special video, just a pic on instagram if you end up doing it, would just love to see how it works on your hair! :)

+Samantha N Thank you so much for taking the time to give such a detailed reply. Your hair sounds a lot like mine, actually. So I think I'm going to hold off on it for now, especially at that price/amount of product. If I'm paying that much I would expect it to be an all in one. Thanks again!
Love the style...quick question. Ever feel like you use too much product? Or does it depend on the actual product you are using
Wash n go does not literally mean wash n go unfortunately with kinky curly hair there's no way we can wash n go literally without, dull, crunchy, dry hair full of single strand knots
It's not literal you got a comb it out and sprayed with oil sheen and leave in conditioner
That pinning technique for face framing is golden! Thanks!
When I do wash and Gos my hair always turn out real dry. 😭 I've tried creams and oils but it's not working for me
+Kiyana Love what products do u think I should try? I've tried cantu shea butter products and just one product from the multi cultural curls
+Kiyana Love yea u right 😤🙄 or I can just go bald 😂😂lmao jk jk
Did u try Cantu leave in and Eco styler gel?
Try using more oil. I started putting my oil in a spray bottle and putting it on after the cream but before the gel and it makes it shinier
maybe you need to moisturize more! I've struggled with the same thing, hun! But I fixed it ever since I started pre pooing with oils instead of conditioner and I also pre pooed even with co-washing. Definitely going to try this - my shrinkage is just - UUGH lol
Mine too! I get annoyed by the shrinkage
definitely trying this tonight! do you recommend the same process for nightly maintenance?
I don't have your curl pattern but I just love your hair!
Your hair is beautiful. Using this banding method or even on a twistout, how long does it take to air dry or are you using a hair dryer?
My hair takes FOR EVER
You went in on yourself @ 6:07 Lmao.
+Lelda Jordan I was lowkey weak when she said that! Lmao

Gorgeous! I had no idea the Decadence line from deva curl worked so well for Coily hair. Definitely want to give it a try. You should also try the gel-oil from bumble and bumble. I hear it's quite amazing for Coily and curly hair.
Your shrinkage is insane I thought you'd cut your hair!
Lol!! Hey +Candy Rockets !! It really is! 😂😂💗💗💗
I really love your complexion! Your skin looks so clear!
I THOUGHT YOU CUT YOUR HAIR WHEN I SAW THE THUMBNAIL MY HEART STOPPED
So did I, lol .... I love her hair!
+Andrea Dorseau Me too! I didn't realize how much shrinkage she has. It looked like one of her old videos when her hair was a lot shorter.

Flawless as always, Whitney! Your ends just look so healthy and juicy lol
Looooooove how your curls are soo defined!!!!
My hair gets straighten out when I wear pony tails 😕
same😕
Do them looser or you can stretch with bobby pins or clips
Try using crocodile clips along the sections instead of hair ties. When I use hair ties, my curl pattern gets too streched and stringy looking. However, the clips gave my hair the perfect stretch while keeping my curl pattern
Taja Brown i did them looser thanx it helped
I love how your hair looks! 😍 I have a question: do you recommend doing this method on just washed hair so that it’s easier?
Yas Whitney, Slay me!
Xo!!! 💗💗💗 +Naa's World
i love your videos. Because of you my hairs in good condition. I frequently DIY oil overnight &/or deep condition. Question, is co-washing sufficient enough before applying a temporary color?
Wow, Sephora's sponsoring everybody today! Lol
I saw you on the shea butter commercial. Congratulations! You looked good!
7:14 serving FACE. those brows though.
