    I really like that you did this from a real start to finish. Showing you doing it with out prep. learning from your pitfalls make a much better video.

    I always check the gap on those "pre gapped" plugs because you never know if a gap is off and after everything you went through you don't want to have to pull any of them back out. You're a better man than I am as I would have unleashed some emm-effs and ess-oh-bees on what used to be so easy to do. Regular maintenance replaceable parts should always be easy or at least not so much fuss to get to. I like that electric ratchet. Thanks for doing this. A friend has the '14 Escape and I have recently done an oil and tranny fluid change on it. The plugs will come up eventually.

    Not a mechanic but felt the same way when i changed mine. I was cussing more than he did on this video. Ford knows how to make the worst design possible and make it not user friendly when it comes to changing things.

    I got the same vehicle! I just got my oil change done from someone over a month ago my engine light is on and blue smoke 💨 coming out of my exhaust I gotta trust my own and try to fix these issues 👨‍🔧 cause it cost way to much money to have somebody else do it.

    You can use a 6 inch fuel hose to fish out your plugs

    You should have removed the two top pieces covering that part of the engine, same stuff you remove to replace the battery. Would have been much easier job.

      The cowl

      You dont need to remove the cowl to take out the battery. Remove the airbox, move a harness out of the way, and thebfront of the battery box unclips. Lift the battery about an inch and it slides out.

      @@automotivetech-vet thanks bud, helps alot. I broke the #4 cylinder coil/plug sensor click locking mechanism and was getting a #2 misfire so I was confused cause I thought it would be the cylinder that I broke the clip on lol it still goes in just doesn't snap. Just did the timing because I had a leaking thermostat housing. Timing is good because it crank and ran, just bad misfire in #2 (never had it before) plugs are new and gapped .030 and I'm assuming I didn't place the boot on plug good enough. Luckily all I have to do is undo the 2 bolts and try again. But its cold outside at the moment 😂

    How do you know when the coil boot is in the right place ?

    • @automotivetech-vet
      @automotivetech-vet  2 года назад

    I got told by an instructor as a young mechanic that an engineer will walk past a pile of virgins to f$%k a mechanic when I was struggling on a HMMWV
