JJ is truly one of the best commentators. He sees everything and explains in real time everything going through a players head and what the balls are going to do 99% of the time.
Exceptionally so. IMO, one of the best commentators even across all sports. Unlike other sports, more of the audience are players themselves recreationally. Yet JJ explains things in a way that even those unfamiliar with pool won't be lost (such as my partner). He's a significant value-add to any event.
Federer really played better, just a few mistakes at key points in the match that Filler took advantage of. I counted at least 6 rolls by Filler, that lead to him getting out, or getting a more favorable safety. Gorst was at .929 before the scratch on the break and the failed safety. I'm not in favor of that safety BTW, those never seem to work, you either need to go all out for the shot, or the safety...
These two are pretty much my faves to win any match. When they play one another its always a good one. Fedor and filler have such different styles but are both so impressive and successful. Filler is a fast and loose rhythm player and Gorst is deliberately slow and thoughtful and robotic and it absolutely breaks up fillers pace. I would love to see them play straight pool 150 but it would take Gorst so long lol
JJ & MW, you are one of my favorite commentator teams in pool. I love how focused you are on the mechanics of the game and the thought process. It's extremely educational!

Fedor gorst is so freaking young just imagine being that good at that age and knowing that you are already a world champion and that u still haven't played your best pool yet. He has the best fundamentals in the game today. We'll be seeing and hearing about him for decades to come the only person I can think of at that age with that much talent is Ronnie O'Sullivan and that's a strong statement
What about the guy he played in this video? Filler is only a couple of years older (he's 24 at the time of me writing this) and was the World Champion (and US Open Champion) the year before Gorst won his. Filler might be the most naturally gifted pool player since Earl, while Gorst is probably the most fundamentally sound player we've ever seen... meaning, Filler (similar to Ronnie) looks like he was born with a cue in his hand, just enormous natural ability and instincts. Gorst looks like he spent his entire childhood going to pool school learning proper technique and pattern play. They both produce world class pool and have been the 2 best players in the world for 2022. Also, don't count out Kaci from the under-25 group... he's only 23 and the reigning 10-ball World Champion.
