  • GaN FETs switch faster and have zero reverse recovery compared to MOSFETs allowing them to operate at higher frequency efficiently and reduce dead time to values not achievable with other technologies. This opens the possibility of higher switching frequency motor drives where 20 - 40 kHz have traditionally been used. Additional benefits of operating at a higher switching frequency include:
