You are the first channel I’ve seen talking about Mycelium. I backed it, but haven’t tabled it yet. Glad to hear you enjoyed it though, looking forward to playing this one.
It's interesting what you said about Eila and 'gamer brain'. I too find myself doing that all the time. After 15 minutes of a game, I often find myself ignoring flavor text and thematics, and rather focus only on icons and combos. Really need to slow myself down and stay in the them.
Gamer brain seems to get me a lot when I’m playing solo. When I play with Steph I can get more into the story but something about when I’m playing alone I can fall into going through the motions
I am just a sucker for nature theme. Dwayne and Alicia also got me intrigued by Life of Amazonia and now seeing y'all enjoy it, it is firmly on my TBP.
I own Life of the Amazonia and "splurged" a little in order to get the upgraded components. I didn't want to fool with putting ALL those trees together 😂! The resource, tree, amd water lily tokens are all nice chunky wooden pieces that fit more nicely with the animal meeples. It's a beautiful and fun game regardless of which edition one owns.
You have to complete the events of Eila in a specific order to unlock the secret, correct ending of Eila which is not kid/family friendly. It retails at around 60-70USD.
Of those games, I have only played Eila. I liked it but am not sure how I really feel about it. Very cute and in the end... I don't know. Maybe we got a wrong ending, but it felt very odd.
Oh can't wait to try Life of the Amazonia. Cascadia: awesome, bagbuilding: yes please, bumping tracks: don't mind if I do. I think they are going to have a demo copy at a convention I'm going to in a couple of weeks so hopefully I will be able to give it a try 😊
Some good sounding games in this grouping. Banish All the Snakes looks interesting, I just wish it wasn't co-op. I haven't tried any games by GMT, though some are intriguing. Have you tried the one based on the American Revolution? Or, if not, which of theirs that you've played would you consider a favorite or good place to start? Thanks again for the content!
Ok- Life of the Amazonia or Forest Shuffle and why?! They sound like a similar hot ecosystem game with different mechanics. I’d love to hear why folks preferred one over the other!
And feel free to throw in opinions on Earth. We have that but the first play through didn’t hit for us and we haven’t tried it again. I’d love to have folks rank those three games and share “why” one or the other!
On BGG, people do not recommend Mycelium for 2 player. Do you all agree? That’s pretty much my only player count besides occasional 4-some with our adult friends or 7 and 9 year old daughters.
I wouldn’t agree! We enjoyed it. But we haven’t tried it at a different player count to compare. At 2p you are using 4 factions anyway, just controlling two each. But everyone different, what works for us might not for others
I was so disappointed in Mycelium. It was very cute and the production value was good, but the game was boring. We played 3 player with just the base game. I think there was extra stuff you could add in if I remember correctly. May try once more with that. Life of the Amazonia is a great game! We play this one a lot.
@@FostertheMeeple definitely true! I love that about the hobby. I usually agree with your tastes though. Makes me wonder if I missed something when I played.
Life of the Amazonia-goodness not sure what I’d think. I was a rare soul that did not like all sorts of elements tacked onto Quacks in Wonderland’s War. It just all felt so tacked on to create complexity to me for complexity’s sake. But maybe that was more about that particular game. Set up and intuitiveness was poo poo.

Let us know what you think of it!
Fyi the Shut up Sit down podcast talked about it recently if your craving more content.
Life of the Amazonia sounds so cool. Love the use of bag building in that context.
Life the Amazonia sounds magical. Not sure if I will get it but I love tracks, bag building, and Cascadia. Would love to check it out some day.
It’s a good one!
Wow! You two explained Life of the Amazonia so well! It's so good!
Thanks for putting it on our radar!
Great interesting video, as always. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
I love that banish the snakes is historically accurate lol
Same!!
I haven't hopped aboard the Amazonia boat yet, but I did back Wondrous Creatures from the same publisher. I hope thats another winner!
Glad you liked Mycelium! And at 2 players! I think it’s much better at 4 and I hope you have a good time with it again :)
I’m sure we will!! Thank you for giving us a chance to check it out!

Haha yea, I get it. I like reading all the bits and I think Jamie just humours me

Makes sense!! We are gamers after all haha

It’s so good!
This video was a treat to watch. Ooh im curious with Life of the Amazonia
Thanks so much!
Luv, luv, luv you guys. Sometimes finding your games so hard to find. May I ask do you make any games you review available for purchase?
We do not! But normally the games we review are either already out or coming soon on crowdfunding!
What is your personal favorite video you guys made? Also which video was the video u guys are cracking up in from your intro? Keep up the great work!
We really like the blindfold challenges!

Haha very fair!
Mycelia 2023, Mycelia 2024 and Mycelium. Who is supposed to keep them apart!

Totally agree about the ending. I enjoyed the game, read the ending, and sold it. What were they thinking? Definitely NOT family friendly.
@@loridurbin3395 I really like the designer but the general theme of the game and the reveal ending are very mis matched
A nice appetizer before the top 10

It’s tough to say as GMT makes a wide variety of games. I think dominant species is one that’s perhaps the most accessible
what would a mushroom do with a nut????
i haven’t any idea.
Still trying to figure that one out
Once more people get their hands on Life of the Amazonia, it will win them over ; it is unreal how good it is
Agreed!
Seems Amazonia is a deck builder if you discard the tokens after use and not put them back into the bag each round.
You use tokens to buy new tokens which stay in your bag. It’s a bag builder.

Great question to come ask in our discord ;

Sorry to hear that!! We very much enjoyed it, but that’s the beauty of the hobby. Something out there for everyone!

Not every game is gonna be a hit for everyone!
