- Our 30 day school bus conversion is well underway, now being 2 weeks into our 4 week build challenge.
Whilst we hit a couple of bumps in the road, we've made plenty of progress on our skoolie conversion this week, as it starts to look less like a bus and more like a tiny home on wheels. We can't believe in just 2 weeks we'll be exploring California and taking our school bus up the West Coast of the USA.
Stay tuned for next weeks Vlog to see more progress, and if you enjoyed the video please like and subscribe.
Please also leave a comment with some 'Must See' places on the West Coast! Развлечения
Would be interested to know if people noticed a different in the editing of this video...
We hope people don’t mind that we’ve moved away from the more detailed DIY content to more of a Vlog style of video.
Hoping you all enjoyed this weeks instalment 💙🙏
I love that the neighbor was wearing the San Diego "uniform." A long sleeve sweater and shorts
Haha, we’re glad he’s representing San Diego well! ☺️😂
“ It would never happen in England”. How true.

Ahh thank you guys! Definitely worth the bump on the top of my head to keep the big man laughing 😂❤️
You guys are amazing. You just get stuck in and make things happen. Great job so far, looking forward to what happens next.
Thank you guys, we're definitely well stuck into this project now, it's a proper hustle! Same time next week for the next update :)

Thank you so much, appreciate it 🙌😊
Great video I am a school bus driver in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and I plan on making a 74 passenger conversion
Thats so awesome, I would say be prepared to learn how to drive a vehicle that huge, but it seems you've already got that covered! IF you need any advice or have any questions about the build process, feel free to ask!
@@NickyandHarri will do thank you and keep up the great content and I know my content is a little different than yours but if you look through my past videos you will see that I do drive School Bus and once again I will continue to watch your content and sharing it 🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥📸📸👟👟👟

Thank you so much! Definitely been a grind this week but always worth it in the end 💪🏼💙
@@NickyandHarri always is ❤️
That schoolie is starting to look so good! You're doing a great job! Just keep going, and when in doubt, go for coffee! 👍🏻💛
The most accurate phrase that sums up our build so far, whenever we hit a roadblock, it's time for coffee to talk it over! Thank you!!
@@NickyandHarri there's never a bad/wrong time for coffee! That's a life motto :D
@@MoonRiverTravels We don’t know what the question is... but coffee is always the answer 😍
im so loving this. can't wait to do this one day
Thanks Richard! You definitely should, it's been awesome so far. :)
"... can't wait..."
Is this four bots?
yay ..... more please
More coming 📹
I'm currently making a bus into a camper for my family of soon to be 10. My bus is going to have to be a bit bigger than yours, but I will love watching the quick progress you are making. Good luck!
WOW, that sounds like one hell of a challenge! Can’t wait to see how that turns out, will definitely keep in touch so we can monitor your progress as well! 👍🏻
Starting to take shape now guys
It’s definitely on the way, but still a lot more to be done 😅
I don’t know what you guys did differently but this video just feels waaayy more profession suddenly! You’re defo getting better at filming/editing. Good luck 👏
That’s so nice to hear Ben, we really appreciate your praise! We definitely tried to switch it up this week and are super glad you noticed a bit of a difference 🤗
@@NickyandHarri yeah it’s really upbeat and I guess San Diego is also sunnier than England which helps too
Totally agree, still just as watchable, but done differently. Loving watching and teasers at the end have me hooked!
Great vid! depending on how far you want to drive, San Francisco is well worth a visit or if you want to go inland, Zion National Park and Vegas!
Awesome recommendations, definitely had it in our plans to visit Vegas and San Fran/ will have to look into that park though, sounds awesome!
Hi Guys, love the blogs. look up Tread The Globe, Marnie and Chris are in the USA with their UK campervan at the moment, Need any advice message them. Keep up the good work. John.
Hi John, really appreciate your comment! We've actually already been in touch with them as we saw they were some fellow Brits over here in the US! We'll be sure to keep you up to date with our adventures! :)
Looks good guys , may I ask though do you guys not use insulation on ur build ?
Cheers Martin! So we actually found out this bud had already been fully insulated behind the panels, so no need this time! 🤗
@@NickyandHarri That did cross my mind that’s an added bonus I’d like to do one of these buses myself
Hi guys! Is your skoolie has a shower & toilet? If does, please give us more in-depth videos about skoolie conversion! Most of all I'm interested about electricity (wiring diagram) & plumbing (plumbing diagram)
Hi Tony. Our conversion does have a toilet, and in our 'Skoolie tour' video, we link all the documents in the description; including a wiring + water diagram so you can copy our build. We also link ALL the products we buy in the description!
@Tony,
On skoolie and other home-built forums, we suggest:
* acquire a likely candidate
* toss in some car-camping gear
* go have fun.
Allow the conversion to evolve organically.
.
With nearly two decades full-time live-aboard in our ExpeditionVehicle, our rig is constantly evolving.
This bus must be powered by propane, as it said "LPG" on the side & a "PROPANE" decal on the back. The Nexbus Propane, which is what you guys have, would be the first Type A (buses built on cutaway van chassis) propane-powered school bus.
Awesome, we definitely know very little about busses so getting some knowledge is always useful. Sounds like you’re spot on with it! 👍🏻
@@NickyandHarri Thanks!
Hi guys, great video!
How come didn't you put insulation and sound deadening?
Hi mate, great question. We ripped back a load of panelling on the bus and saw it had already been fully insulated with Foam! We actually didn’t bother with sound deadening at all this time (all the windows kind of defeat the object of it)!
@DJ,
2003, we converted a 1996 Ford CF8000 commercial truck to our concept of an ExpeditionVehicle.
.
Our insulation:
* adhesive-back acoustic against the wall, a gap, then
* one-inch pink-board, another air-gap, then
* two-inch foil-side poly.
.
Our windows are 3010 (three feet wide by a foot tall) dual-pane sliders designed for a stand-still house.
We mounted these at our eye-level standing inside, about eight feet above pavement.
Hi guys what did you do with your previous conversions?
Hi mate, both have been sold to separate new owners! 👍🏻
How much water tanks do you instal (how big are they)
Hi Carl, as we’re only part time living in the bus, we’re not going to under carry our water (for weight reasons as well). So we’re just using 5 gallon Clean and 5 gallon of grey water! (Bare in mind we don’t have a shower, planet fitness 👍🏻)
@carl,
For our ExpeditionVehicle, we use stainless-steel five-gallon retired Pepsi kegs.
.
Our standard load is seven (thirty-five gallons).
A big advantage to small tanks is modularity -- we can add a couple-three dozen more in the toy-hauler I fabricated on a similar commercial chassis... giving us around four months without re-fill.
.
Another advantage:
* a couple-three go to town for re-fill while the others stay in camp..
