Use the UF1 Focus knob function along with the mouse to control plugins. It won't allow you to get rid of the screen, but will this even be possible in the near future, given how integral a screen is to modern DAW workflow?
So glad to see you've got the Nektar CS12! Really looking forward to any thoughts you have on the CS12 and particularly how it stacks up against SSL's controllers.
I dont know why all companies produce the same boring plugins that exists 10000 times on the market for decades. Everything thats not unique shouldnt be mentioned
The problem is always who decides what we devs have to develop. I have seen it a thousand times „competing companie’s product XYZ has that feature set“ „We need that, too! Because they are making money with it and we want that, too! How fast can you deliver? It bores me to tears and the bigger the company the more common that is“
I fitted my UF1 into my desk by routing out a hole the size of the metal chassis. Make it a tight fit. So the flange (lip) which is very small (1mm) of the aluminium stops the unit from falling through. And if you have it on the same part as your keyboard. You have the transport and scrub etc right next to your keyboard. Sorted 😮make sure you get your measurements right
Maybe you could build/create your own DAW controller. I'm wondering how hard would that be? 3D printed case, some encoder knobs, buttons, character LCD screen, arduino with firmware that talks Midi 2.0 and done. The last bit is probably the most difficult part of the build. I'm just thinking of a Look Mum No Computer style approach to such a problem.
The Nektar CS12 is superb, can't wait for your video on it. Using their Nektarine software you will be able to create pages per plugin section, provided that the parameters are exposed for automation. I think they've put a lot of work into pre-mapping multi-page/contextual plugins too.
I have one in my cart right now to be delivered tomorrow. Only way im clicking buy is if plays well with third party plugins. I only saw one video where they controlled vahallia. Seems like everybody's dancing around this feature.
@@imnmediakc8533 It only integrates with Logic right now, so just be aware of that. The third party support is pretty good - there's a lot of pre-mapped third party plugins. There's also the ability to map on the fly using the built-in learn system. It's clearly quite early in the development, but already a really good system that will only get better.
I made a few presets for this one, but I was hoping that they'd implement some of the ideas I suggested before release. That said, it's simple enough and easy to use.
