Slithering Fractal - an example of self similarity

The frames of this animation are heightfields of distinct locations in the Mandelbrot set. These particular distinct locations are zooms into adjacent structures. And the adjacent structures themselves are strung like pearls on a necklace. Each one is only slightly different from its neighbors.
So what we are seeing here is the result of jumping from one pearl to the next. After several such jumps, a larger development becomes visible.
