Maserati founded by the 6 Maserati brothers had a great start winning multiple races across europe and building some of the most luxurious cars at the time. Maserati Quickly ran into financial troubles and their reputation took a big hit, with maseratis quality and maseratis reliability going down. This made maserati go from a prestigious and luxurious car brand to being known as the expensive Fiat. However It seems like maserati is making a comeback with the Maserati MC20, Maserati Grecale, Maserati Levante and the improved versions of the Maserati Ghibli and Maserati Quattroporte.

the current gen quattroporte is a very nice car. Sounds amazing to. Now beleive it or not they are reliable now, its just because people treat them horribly. Or they hate on them because they mistake the reliability issues undr 2010 for nowadays.

I own a 2002 Spyder...great car. Mention Maserati to someone who knows cars and they are struck with awe and terror. From about the 1970's on Maserati was a name to cars built by its underlying owner. So the underlying owner of my Spyder is Ferrari. You get 80% of a Ferrari for 20% of the purchase price. The buy of a lifetime. The maintenance is Ferrari costly but the car is actually very reliable. So more recently and today Maserati is Fiat/Chrysler...need I say more?

My $95k Levante lost $30k in one year just by sitting in the garage without any extra miles on it. 😢 I was shocked, that quickly changed my mind from buying another one. Wanted to get Levante Trofeo next, but within last year dealers discounted them by $40k already for a brand new car. I do agree that installing 580hp compared to 425hp does not worth extra $75k. I feel Maserati is in its last breath, before they cease to exist. They had some face lifted designs recently except the ultimate ugliness of gracale, it would be sad see them gone like Pontiac
