Do NOT buy the Klymit Insulated Static V before watching this!

Comparing the ‪@TheMotherofComfort‬ Big Agnes Rapide SL with the ‪@klymitsleepoutside‬ Klymit Insulated Static V. I honestly hope I get some feedback from Klymit on this one!

I bought the Klymit Insulated Hammock V this year for about 200e. With its supposed 4.3 R-value, I hoped to pair it with an under quilt to camp in winter conditions. It's fine in summer, is comfortable and opens up my hammock nicely. However, I was cold in October using the mat. Now it seems, its r value is actually more like 1.9, making it marginally better than closed cell foam. It's a con, the deep grooves have no insulation at all. Worst of all, Klymit still advertises the Hammock V as a 4-season mat and the cost is STILL around 200euros! 🤬 Don't waste your money!

Absolutely. They're endangering people that go out into the fall and winter camping seasons expecting it to keep them warm and it totally does not.

My only criticisms come as a former photography assistant ,
Shut the curtains
They are messing with your white balance And saturation indoors.
When you can afford it, consider getting a ring light .

I actually was using a 200 watt video light, but the sun was coming straight in that window and the curtains are chain operated and the chainbwas broken. I normally shoot outdoors or at my place so I didn't have all of my equipment.

From personal experience, you will indeed freeze your ass off if you try cold camping with the klymit.
