I was getting goosebumps at the end. Yeah, he’s marching along, following the world that’s telling him, that’s the only way. But he hears the voice of God calling for him to follow Him. Another thing to notice is all of the cycles. Day and night. And then it repeats. I don’t remember what you reacted to on Vessel, but I think it’s an even better album.
I like to think that he's also referring to how its common for people to see the cure for depression as having one path, which is walking into the sea and "falling asleep". I think hes been on that path so many times in his life that when "God" finally changes his direction, he can see a different outlook on life. When he says towards the end that he puts him back in his place and then he starts again towards a march to the sea, i think he's saying that god saved him for the moment and his journey will start over again and allow him to keep choosing his path. Basically god corrects the wrong path until he gets it right? Idk if that makes sense at all but its just another interpretation i took from this song.
I think this song is about finding your own path - he doesn't want to follow everybody mindlessly and wants to think for himself- rather that's religiously or creatively, etc I think at the end it's sort of like a lot of his later music where it's cyclical - he knows eventually he will fall back into the same trap but he wants to break out of it
last night and all day today i have been watching your reaction to this band! i’ve been a fan for about 6 years and always love watching new people get hooked into this band as much as i have. the way you appreciate their music is how i am. their instrumental and lyrics are so phenomenal and creative, it’s unbelievable, like no other. the self-titled album has helped me so much in life and it’s amazing. though you have reacted to most songs from the album trench, you must do the entire album. it’s absolutely one of my favorites but self-titled is my #1. trench is an album with such sound, the feeling i get listening to that album is indescribable and the sounds…wowww, years later and i can’t get enough. i plan to view so much more of your tøp reactions. so far it’s the only reason i go on yt for the past 24hrs 💀 keep it up ‼️
Loving this journey through the full album… I think Tyler puts a lot into the way he constructs the order of things in the albums so it’s a good way to work through. Great reaction!
Tyler, the lead singer, was quite conflicted about his belief/religion. After he got married and had a kid he started focusing on his mental health and dealing with his anxiety. I love this album so much, newer stuff is okay but nothing like this unfortunately but I'm happy he's happy. It was a fun journey.
I like the way that you see it They way you see the words he's saying But the way you see his words a bit different from how I see them, See, the way that I see it it ain't religion or an alien It's his hopes, his dreams, his goals, It's the way he sees the world always walking, never thinking Marching to the sea is just like living in society The march is just a boring life The sea is your retirement So don't just watch the chances go, you heard the voice said "follow me" So follow it don't watch it go, you may not get a second chance 'Cause thing like that, they come and go, but they don't fall in your hands So anyway, the song was great, I'm sorry that the comment's late I hope you had a real good day Oh, and by the way, good job
Dude! I adore this interpretation! That has never occurred to me in the eight or nine years that I have listened to this song! You are so freaking right! The chances are so few and far between! And I just saw this awesome quote that for all our sakes, I hope it's true, but I kinda suspect horribly that it probably might not be? Maybe it is The quote is ".. every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.."
@@acegardner4425 thanks for the great quote, I hope it's true but it also sounds misleading in a way. glad you liked my take on the song kinda surprised that you've never heard it before but glad I could give you another look at it. have a good day.
@@jackryan3503 You know, me too, surprised that is. I think it's just that preconceived notion of the religious struggle-basis to the album so, as a result, that made me make up my mind before I even started listening Thanks for responding, have a majestic day, my friend
I watched this yesterday morning as I always do while getting ready for work and I forgot to comment😅 This song is a no skip for me and it's my second favorite on this album after taxi cab. My favorite part is "then the wages of war will start inside my head with my counterparts, and the emotionless marchers will chant the phrase this line is the only way". Because I've been there.
This is one of my favorites, definitely listen to this in the car, cause the sounds make you feel the music. Honestly no words are required to make you feel this one.
You rock, my friend I been binging on every freaking twenty one pilots and ren song you have reacted to thus far and I am blown away by how much you understand from the first listen! I may have had kind of similar instinctual subliminal sorts of reactions but it is not like I understood to be able to verbalize my interpretation; i probably had to listen to every song around twelve.. hundred.. times before I was able to grasp the basic underlying premise of most if not all of this group's songs What i like most about your perspective on •this• song (now icr if this comment was began during friend, please or the song i wanna talk about rn which is MTTS) is how you interpret the final message without all the anger that I hear! I love that!
@@DRichOfficial good! And what I meant was I wasn't an hour late. I just watched it so many times that I didn't get to comment until an hour had passed.... yeah. That.

Same. I got goosebumps at the end when DJ said “it’s not time yet” - felt like I was gonna cry

Let’s gooo!! I’m loving the journey I’m on with this group
Its about conformity. We need to not be sheep and do our own thing. Dont just follow
Yes!

March to the sea is probably in my top three of twenty one pilots' songs

Great reaction bro 🔥🔥
I really love this one, the melody is so beautiful and the lyrics are amazing as always
I like the way that you see it
They way you see the words he's saying
But the way you see his words a bit
different from how I see them,
See, the way that I see it it ain't religion or an alien
It's his hopes, his dreams, his goals,
It's the way he sees the world always walking, never thinking
Marching to the sea is just like living in society
The march is just a boring life
The sea is your retirement
So don't just watch the chances go, you heard the voice said "follow me"
So follow it don't watch it go, you may not get a second chance
'Cause thing like that, they come and go, but they don't fall in your hands
So anyway, the song was great,
I'm sorry that the comment's late
I hope you had a real good day
