Oh shoots, this is knitting. The blanket is gorgeous though. Hope it can be done in crochet in a layer video.

You can probably adapt it using a crochet basketweave stitch:
What is the basketweave stitch? The basketweave stitch is a crochet pattern constructed with front and back post double crochet stitches (fpdc and bpdc for short) and simple repeat rows that create a woven looking pattern similar to a basket.

I made a checker board pattern like this, but my "squares" were more like rhombuses. Not straight. Any tips for getting the tension even on each side where the knits stitches meet the purl stitches? Love your tutorials!

Btw, my stitches stacked exactly, not offset like in your pattern

Is this pattern still available even it's no longer stitch along 2022?

I don't have size 6: super chunky yarn. My yarn stash is overflowing with size 4 yarn. So, I thought of making an oversized shawl using this pattern.
Any recommendations on how to increase the stitch count for a larger or wider shawl...and, how to add m1's for the checkerboard with the increased stitches?
I double the cast on stitch count to 122 sts. Everything was fine until I got to the checkerboard. After working the increases and pattern, I ended up with 1 stitch more...I am confused. Sorry for the novel
