WOW! The Southern Fabulous Dancing Dolls are absolutely INCREDIBLE! They're dance style definitely evolving, and it's so unique and refreshing to see. I agree. The show had a lot of personality. I would expect nothing less from a captain that trained professionally before attending SU. I believe it was with Ailey II - Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
For this to have been their first performance under a new director they along with herself should feel very proud. Great Job Ladies your show was my favorite.
As a longtime Doll fan, I have to acknowledge that transitions have long been one of their very few Achilles heels on the field. It already feels apparent that that won't be a problem with this year's group. With the combination of a 2nd-year captain in Airielle + the legendary Traci Prince-Greene as the new sponsor, I fully expect the Dolls to reach new heights. Looking forward to seeing what all they have in store for us this season! And great review/commentary as usual, Dez!
Def not jazzercise….. they are dancing like professional dancers …. It’s jazz… really great choreo .. it’s not jus battement , calypso to the ground , double pirouette, split .. they are truly pushing the boundaries of HBCU dance lines … it’s quality dancing.. the choreography was amazing . Ari is a prof dancer so she is always gonna stand out …. This year they gone b nasty even better than last year
I loved the overall dance but that last 8 count was such a wasted time period and space with Arielle and I believe Haley just standing there. I lived for the transitions and everything just that final 8 I was like awh come on
Dez I love how you keep your reviews positive. What I like about the Dolls is they transition across the field while dancing with flowing energy. Traci and DTara as captains were great doing that too! Keep it up Ari! 👏🏾🔥
First off, glad you're back and praying the family is well! Second off, yes it feel different but refreshing. Little by little the Dancing Dolls will give you more and more. I also believe that someone within their ring of support listens to you. If so, that's so very nice!
Im thinking the beginning arm thing was each group was covering that four beat tap you mentioned. Looks like its four gruops moving arms to use that four tap time 🤔
THANK YOU NEW DIRECTOR! I have been loud, bold and very harsh in my criticism of the dolls the last two years, even their field performances. This changes everything, they looked like a musical, but not just a musical, a black muscial, and they should, its an HBCU. If this offends you, too bad, I will not apologise for my love of OUR culture. Thank You new director.
The fact that the captain used her haters as her motivators is a outstanding The pressure of her Crab sister was a lot for her last year. Am sure Cam gave her blessings, overall great teamwork
I agree cam is my favorite but everyone was so focused on her not being captain and all she wanted was to be tail! Arielle killed as a captain last year and she’s going to kill this year to 😌🤞🏾 with cams full support

It may be unpopular opinion but it’s mine I was really ready for Arielle to be gone I wanted to see a fresh team .she is an amazing dancer but after 4 years u bore me .first performance they are looking crisp and clean full of energy .if I’m mistaken that field show was from the 90s with a little remix to it .
