I talked with a lady once who only ironed her projects on one side. She ironed on the opposite side of the one she was going to use to display them so that the front always looked smooth, clean and not melted.
The title of the video was not How to do perler beads perfectly every time 🤣 like dang she messed up no need to be disrespectful go find a different video 😂
Tbh it when I move my iron In circles, it ruins my project but when I just put it still in one spot it works fine. Just a suggestion xd this works for me, but probably doesn’t work for everyone so don’t think this is the “Correct way” to iron the beads. Good luck!
The rendering is too random with these kind of beads once ironed. Some keep holes and others do not. On one side the pixel effect is missed, and on the other the rendering looks like marshmallow.
Fellow Moonie, this video is a life saver! I kept getting impatient and taking the paper off while it was still warm because I wanted to be sure I did it proper XD I ran into the problem of curving, too. Thanks so much!
Way too much heat, you don't want the holes to close. You want them to shrink only slightly and stay uniform across the whole design. The goal is to melt the perler beads together, not destroy the shape of the beads. I tend to use a medium heat and go in slow even circles. The tip of the iron is where heat is focused, so only use that if you have a really stubborn bead that's refusing to fuse to the one beside it, and only use that tip on the edge of the bead to melt it to the adjacent bead (avoid the holes). Be patient, you can't rush art if you want it to be nice, and follow these tips. Your perler creations will look so much better.
Why are so many comments about melting and burning things? Do you just put the iron on full and leave it on there for an hour? start at low temp and ramp it up slowly if it doesn't work. I guess the fully fused 'square' style is a personal preference? I like mine the best when they're fused at the back, but the front is still nice and unmolten.
I tried to iron my very first project the other day and the beads wouldn't fuse together, so I came here for troubleshooting and- I have the exact same iron! So that answers my question perfectly lol I learned other good tips as well so thanks!

I was gifted an 11" x 11" perler craft, and on my first attempt to iron it only a couple sections fused. Is it possible to try again and iron the whole piece together?
Hi I have Hama (I’m from Netherlands) and Hama shows to only iron one side and shows on the box that the not ironed side is the front and instructions they don’t say wich side is the front they say it’s ready when ironed. But perler beads say to iron both side so what is the correct way of ironing and when done wich side is the front? I always thought the not ironed side and I thought Hama was the main brand of fuse beads and that other home or cheap brands from stores like ikea or something it was a fake 😂 but just recently I found out there are/where more quality brands like perler but it’s American so not our main brand. But I am glad perler and Hama are almost the same quality cause I was scared that I had a crappy brand and perler where better and you almost can’t get it somewhere here. So I am just gonna continue with Hama 😊 it’s also all I have known since my childhood.
Question, can you do this even if you don't have the board? Because where I bought mine all the boards were out so I don't have one, I have the beads and I can make the form I need, I just don't have the board
I'm trying to make the Mario block coin bank, and I overmelted the hinges. Should I melt them off and try to attach new ones, or just trim off the bit that's too big?
that's a tough one, i struggle with interlocking hinges. If you cut them off you can always place it on some masking tape and iron it to attach it back on
Thank you very much. When question though. After I finish ironing it and the beads are in tact do can I iron the other side to match or will it damage the shape?
I was looking on Pinterest and found a burger and chips design and I did it but when I came to ironing them it would work and they wasn't ironing at all !!! But I'm from England and can't get the Perler bead make so that's annoying aswell xxx but you vids are great xxx
you ironed it for too long , it happened to me too when i started out too , try evenly ironing it with 4 second intervalls on the highest setting while making sure to keep the iron as straight as you can & then carefully lift the parchment paper to check your perler bead creation, when everything is stuck together you can flip the board & let it sit for 5-10 min for it to release from the board .
