I hope this video is helpful in some way! I know it's not easy to iron perler beads especially for those of you who are just starting this hobby, but don't worry, with some practice and patience, you'll definitely get it down and I would love to see your results which you can share to me any time! :)
QDCrafts actually when I started perler bead my mom thought me how to use a iron and it was simple my first perler bead spirt was iceman from mega man 1
QDCrafts I love sun and moon I did the pokeball it's so fun keep up the good work also your videos are super entertaining and I would consider you making a Pokémon sun and moon starter tutorial.
I’m very new to Perler beads. I recently was at Joannes and saw they had a gingerbread house kit. I love gingerbread houses, so I went ahead and bought it. I haven’t put it all together yet. I have all of the pegs on the peg boards but I’m using smaller creations to practice my ironing, so I don’t mess up my hard work. For anybody who starting I will say it is very tedious and you have to have lots of patience, but it sure is fun! So far, I’m making a lot of gingerbread men.
I direct iron and I don't ruin my pegboard. Then again, I use those huge pegboards so I can do multiple at once so that probably has some influence on it.
Great video. I am teaching myself & my elderly friend how to do this as a hobby and I do like the method of transferring the design onto painter's tape first, rather than ironing on the board because all we have are those clear pegboards. I like the final results: more uniform ironing on both sides, rather than over heated sides or one side is over melted.
I love the fact that your perler beads all have "open holes" if you know what I mean. Many people have melted their holes because they use a higher heat. Your projects always look flawless!
Try putting the heavy object on the project while it's cooling between the parchment pages. When cooled the parchment paper almost falls off and doesn't need to be peeled.
Hi! I know you probably won't see this, but oh well. I find your videos very inspiring, and you definitely deserve more than 20,000 subscribers. You made me start perler beading. I have loads of perler beads and I love following along with your projects. I have made so many things from you, and I think you explain your tutorials/videos very nicely. Anyways, I just wanted to say thank you for making your videos, and I hope you can get to making more videos soon! c:
iiMuffin thank you so much for watching! I'd love to see what you made so if you ever want to share, you can always tag me or tweet me what you made! glad you love this hobby !
Your video was very helpful, thank you! My children and I will have to try the tape method again, I think we didn't do something right. This has been the best perler bead video I've seen, very clear on all your information! I used to own that iron, too, brand new. 😂😂😂
Some of you have asked if I have a PO BOX and I actually do have a temporary one that I'm using for the next 3 months. So if you're interested in sending me a letter or anything, message me for the address! :) Thank you to those who have considered sending a letter!
I haven't bought my Perler beads yet, but I've joined a heap of groups for inspiration and now that I've seen a few ironing tutorials, I can't wait to start doing my own! Thank you :p
0:10 facts. & its very easy to melt/bend your perler bead board aswell if you over iron the beads , when i started out i remember i melted 2 boards & bent 1 board. because i had the iron on too high one tip i can give to all you newbies out there is ; if your iron has a ''linnen'' setting turn the dial knob to that setting & turn the temperature switch almost all the way up , then put parchment paper over the beads & iron for about 4-10 seconds or until you see circles forming on the parchment , repeat this progress & remove the parchment when the beads are stuck together , then wait for 5-10 minutes for it to cool off & it will plop right off the board , then after its off the board sandwitch it between some parchment paper & iron it until its got the pixel effect you want, now give yourself a huge pat on the back , you just ironed your first perler bead masterpiece
my iron is just like yours . my parents had it for Ever . and i use the painters tape . its so easy to take off . one thing i don't do is i never iron on the board and i never poke the holes. i always tape it and take it off. and then iron it . my first perler was a round smily face , the second one was the 3D rubix cube , and my 3rd one was the 3D minecraft guy but i did my skin i always use , that one took for Ever to do . lol
Was wondering why you use the tape? Just to prevent melting pegs? I did them when I was a kid, and now my son loves them too. I was hoping to find out why sometimes a bead or two will melt extra, and look different, than other beads. I don’t know how to explain other than to say it looks more melted and squished than all the others. I use the medium/medium low setting on my iron.
I find it funny how all four of my clear pegboards have been warped before watching this and I'm salty because I want to keep making things after watching you
JUAN ROMERO i dont even have any peg boards im just planning to carefully place the beads on a flat surface....you could probably put tape sticky side up and set each bead on the tape to hold it.
Hi, I'd like to ask did you do it the exact way she shows in this video? I want to try for the first time and I like the final even holes result. Any tips on making sure the whole piece sticks together evenly? cheers.
Please make a video ironing larger projects. Usually I do projects in big scale like using 10 mini pegboards, of the clear one not the yellow one. And it will be interesting to see.
yes! please make a video where you iron bigger projects :D I'm new to this and I'm pretty bad at ironing and I need all the tips I can get lol xD I'm binge watching your videos, I like your videos and your channel :) you have some pretty cool tutorials I need to try!
I've always ironed mine on the pegboards, even when projects required more than one pegboard. Never thought to use masking tape. One thing I never solved was how most of my projects kept warping to one side. Watching your video made me realize that I always let each side cool off individually instead of ironing both sides as soon as possible, which may have caused them to irrecoverably warp. What do you think?
Yes, I think that may be the issue. I usually iron the other side right after the first side is completely fused and I've hardly ever had them warp to one side. Hope the video helped!
Thank you! I actually over me,Ted them and it came on the mat thing and I got a set of perked beads for Christmas I’m so sad I wish I can do something to fix it ):
I saw that u use a painter tape and paper tape, but can I use the transparent tape or the chocolate tape? does it affect in anyway using other type of tape, just in case I dont have the paper one.
I think they look better without the holes Because when there are 0 holes in the beads it makes the colors very clear no matter what surface they are on
This really helped, I'm new to this stuff so I really needed this:) I made a wheatley and chell for my brother since it was his birthday, I also made a wheatley for myself!!^^
Instead of turning it over too quickly, I noted others using painters tape pressed to your perler beads. Once done, you can take it off and iron easier.
How sturdy are the finished projects with holes? because I always iron my beads till they are the holes are closed. Is there any difference besides looks?
no big differences really , i made sailor moon usagi and Ram & rem with perler beads and they have holes in them & they seem as sturdy as my lum invader portrait that doesnt have holes .
Oh wow, I think I have the same iron as you! Which was also my mom's XD Only problem I have with it is it really doesn't iron evenly, it kinda only irons correctly near the edges? I think the little holes on the bottom have something in them or something, but idk how to fix it
thanks so much! i ruined mini perler projects that my friends bought me but this was perfect for my own personal project. gotta go get masking tape now! lol
Thank you for this very helpful video! I'm really new to this and wanted to make a couple for my brother's birthday. UPDATE: I made four of them and he really liked them. I made zeraora (his favorite), volcarona, mimikyu, and leafeon.
When I iron my perler beads with the holes visible, it's more likely to snap. Am i doing something wrong or is it more prone to snap since it's not "fully" melted? Pls reply thanks!
I like to melt my beads till i cant see holes, but only do one side, because i love the look of 0 holes but if you flip it over itsstilly easy to make copies and so its not to thin
Your vids have really inspired me thank you me and my cousin have made a different channel for perler beeds I subed half way between the first vid I saw you in you helped me make so many cool perler beeds thank you
I've never had success with the masking tape. it literally ends up sticking to my projects and ruining one side, so for now I have to iron straight onto my boards. It's a shame really because I have had warped boards before and it just succcckkkksss. Thank you for the video though !
what paper do you use? brand or parchment paper? because I can't get brand paper in NZ unless I fork out for heaps of shipping and I've never seen parchment paper in shops and all the papers I've found on eBay have been muchmore like tissue paper than the perler paper
Tenareful I just use the ironing paper that comes with the perler bead buckets, but I can also use baking paper that does not have wax on it. I don't know what is available in NZ but hopefully you can find it at a dollar store or department store!
Tenareful parchment paper/ wax paper is actually for baking but is used for many other things.check the baking section of a store, maybe that will help you find it.i hope, goodluck :)

we have the same iron! i obtained mine from my grandma because she found another one :)

I direct iron and I don't ruin my pegboard. Then again, I use those huge pegboards so I can do multiple at once so that probably has some influence on it.
I got a huge one and it started bending so much because if the iron, and so did some of the pegs😭😭😭
@@garnetk1200 Oh, my huge one doesn’t bend when I direct iron.
Omg sameeee

Fiesta Potato tbh I kinda prefer without the open holes
I did my first perler bead project and used the tape trick that you used and it worked wonders thank you
QDCrafts please do another ironing video with larger projects. Also nice job on the video! This was really helpful to me.😊😉😊😄
Try putting the heavy object on the project while it's cooling between the parchment pages. When cooled the parchment paper almost falls off and doesn't need to be peeled.
13:01 is how i normally how i iron, i sorta dont like how there are holes

QDCrafts I just discovered your vids and I love them! BTW we all know that Poppilo is the best Su/Mo starter, right? RIGHT?
QDCrafts I thought she accidentally spelled roblox wrong lol
Nightslash360 I so agree
QDCrafts your epic I love your vids I never discovered peeler beads your my fav RUclipsr and I subscribed and on every vid I like it
Straight away
@@cr4shmycar118 OH YEH
I honestly love the “over melted” look of peelers way better
Me too, I always do them like that because those holes are bothering me. And when you melt them a bit more, they look like a pixels!
same, litten was my absolute favorite starter when i was little and i always chose her for like years.
Great tips, thanks for your kindness and patience to teach kids.
I haven't bought my Perler beads yet, but I've joined a heap of groups for inspiration and now that I've seen a few ironing tutorials, I can't wait to start doing my own! Thank you :p
My mom has this exact same iron for as long as I can remember. I’m 35!
haha that's awesome! It's usually the older gadgets that last the longest :)
I guess its good quality!👏
0:10 facts. & its very easy to melt/bend your perler bead board aswell if you over iron the beads , when i started out i remember i melted 2 boards & bent 1 board. because i had the iron on too high
one tip i can give to all you newbies out there is ;
if your iron has a ''linnen'' setting turn the dial knob to that setting & turn the temperature switch almost all the way up , then put parchment paper over the beads & iron for about 4-10 seconds or until you see circles forming on the parchment , repeat this progress & remove the parchment when the beads are stuck together , then wait for 5-10 minutes for it to cool off & it will plop right off the board , then after its off the board sandwitch it between some parchment paper & iron it until its got the pixel effect you want,

9:27 i only have clear pegboards...
Same ...
same-
Have you ever considered a heat resistant pegboard?
A very informative video. You are very good at explaining your projects throughout the process and I really appreciate it. Thank you!
Can we use a4 size paper instead of parchment paper?
Can you put a link to one of your larger projects that you did. Have you used the 4 pegboards.
I love you QDCrafts I am so glad I found you ;)
thanks Haypop :)
is it possible to do without the ironing paper?!
No
I suffer from perler sticking to butter paper, what should I do, please reply?

Just finished my first one and the masking tape technique worked perfectly. Thanks for the tips!
Hi, I'd like to ask did you do it the exact way she shows in this video? I want to try for the first time and I like the final even holes result. Any tips on making sure the whole piece sticks together evenly? cheers.
The way you iorn your PERLER Beads do they get flimsy and easily breakable?
Or are they less Prone to breaking?
Do you need to Iron them? I'm planning to make Turtwig, Grotle, and Torterra
Please make a video ironing larger projects. Usually I do projects in big scale like using 10 mini pegboards, of the clear one not the yellow one. And it will be interesting to see.

Do you know if the artkal mini iron is a good small iron
I saw that u use a painter tape and paper tape, but can I use the transparent tape or the chocolate tape? does it affect in anyway using other type of tape, just in case I dont have the paper one.
I chose litten as my starter! If I got a female (which I didn't) I would've named it cuddles, after my cat
i have a cat named cuddles as well!! my friends all make fun of the name but im not ashamed of it lol. the only difference is my cat is a male :)
when I iron, the besds come out... fuzzy? whats up with that?
Can u use something other than baking paper to iron?
I accidentally melted a little of my plastic pegboard...are there any silicon ones?
You can use wax paper too
How can we prevent the creations from breaking
how do i fix my warped pegboard? is there a way?
I think they look better without the holes
Because when there are 0 holes in the beads it makes the colors very clear no matter what surface they are on
This really helped, I'm new to this stuff so I really needed this:)
I made a wheatley and chell for my brother since it was his birthday, I also made a wheatley for myself!!^^
What was the name of that youtuber you mentioned?
Thank you so much for making this video! It's exactly what I needed.
What if you don’t have any tape or paper stuff ?
you cant make it then you need the right paper but tape is opitional
@@averageportbluefanThe tape is optional? So I screwed it up for no reason with the tape? If so, what are the alternatives for tape?
Thank you for this video, this was really helpful! Where do you buy your beads? And do you find any one brand is better than the generic type?
The only tape I have is duct and normal will that work?
Instead of turning it over too quickly, I noted others using painters tape pressed to your perler beads. Once done, you can take it off and iron easier.
Can you use clothes instead of an ironing sheet
really liked your ironing tutorial! Thanks for the tips

how big (mm) perler beads did you use?
Hi. Thanks for the tutorial. Did you use wax or parchment paper and does it make a difference?
I use parchment paper and have never tried wax paper
When I iron my beads, on the other side of the project there are star shapes that are weird and ugly. Do you know why that happens?
Why do you not iron straight on the board?
Oh wow, I think I have the same iron as you! Which was also my mom's XD
Only problem I have with it is it really doesn't iron evenly, it kinda only irons correctly near the edges? I think the little holes on the bottom have something in them or something, but idk how to fix it
Have you noticed a difference between parchment paper and the ironing paper? I have lots of parchment paper and don't want to buy what I don't need
They’re the same! As long as you aren’t using waxy paper it should be just fine.
I found that when I iron on the coloured peg boards that it ends up bending whereas the clear peg boards don't.
hello!
can you make somthing using the glow in the dark beads...
thanks so much! i ruined mini perler projects that my friends bought me but this was perfect for my own personal project. gotta go get masking tape now! lol
QD, what do you mean, when you say that clear pegboard would warp so easily? That it will deform, melt or something?
yes, the little pegs you put the beads on could melt or deform
Can anyone give me tips because I usually iron it till there is no holes and it usually works fine, is this wrong ?
rowlet for the win
Thank you for this very helpful video! I'm really new to this and wanted to make a couple for my brother's birthday.

A few of our pegboards are melted or bent
I would really love to see how to iron big projects :)
I've only been doing a bit of direct ironing and one of my peg boards is warping T-T
#TeamLitten for life.

Do another one for mini beads plz
I ruined the design when I was taping it, so now I have to start over. I will try it again though because I melted the plastic on the pegboard.

Are perler bead sprites prone to breaking in any way? (Assuming I've ironed it together correctly)
Usually they're pretty sturdy after the beads are fused together (as long as you don't throw them around or rough handle them)
Thank you so much for explain this method and why and when you should use it. ☺ Very helpful! Liked, commented and subscribed!
I chose Popplio for my starter
I used perler beads last night at girl scouts they over did the ironing they did higher than lv 3 and held it for about 90 seconds
how do you iron it
thank you so much! really helpful tutorial!
Were do you get all of those Beads
You can find everything you need from the Perler Beads official website.
One reason is materials another is I don’t have those acrylic like poles
it appears that you do linger a bit longer on the right.
I chose litten and i finished the island challenge without evolving him because i loved him the way he was!
That was a good idea on your part. I evolved her and the last evolution is so NOT cute. 😖
lol I just bought that same iron before yesterday 😂 lolo
