I was too young back in their time. My father brought a cassette tape, greatest songs collection of dire straight back home from his work abroad. Tell you, until this day I got old, when I listen to this song it puts a simple smile in me all the time and start thinking about my wife. I inherited my father’s cassette tape collection. As I have my own collection too. My wife just bought me a cassette player for birthday presents 4 years ago, for she see’s how I love music and how I love my collections.
Dire Straits man. I'm 54 years old I first heard them in like 1978 when I was like 10 years old and just it's one of the reasons why I play guitar and I play guitar like him with my fingers a lot of times although I'm having problems with my hands and now at 54. So when I say they don't make bands like this anymore musicians like this anymore and that they're one of the greatest bands to ever exist I mean it and I'll defend that to my forever Mark Knopfler is just incredible and so is the whole band they just don't make that kind of bad anymore so many good songs so many good songs

This has always been one of the most romantic songs I've ever listened to until the day I met my wife. Thats where it became our Song and our only song. I've always been a romantic to the heart but this being our song has just made me believe in only our love and here's a song to it!!
An absolute masterpiece 💓 There is a bitter-sweet scar or a flame that everyone who's loved someone and loses them must carry for life. Although the pain of loss never leaves, until you've loved and lost that love, you've never really lived at all .
well - some people can go through life without finding true love and are just fine. I loved and lost and loved and lost and now barely remember it..... but I don't think less of people that didn't happen to have the experience. Stil I can listen and relate to this and all of Dire Straits and their imaginative lovely music all day long. How bout it!?
It certainly is the greatest and most memorable love song of all time and the saxophonist Mr White makes it in there with Mark I have played this so many times I’ve lost count and will carry on doing so - I love ❤️ it and admire it so much !!
I'll say it till I die the most underrated band ever this performance is simple perfection a rhythmical genius is what Mark knophler is long may he keep entertaining us ❤️

Many people think that women love musicians for their fame and money. Wrong. We love them because they turn EMOTION into GORGEOUS MUSIC.
Call BS on that one! Money first and then the emotional music part!! Lmaoo
You mean they music into emotion, but I’m with you gorgeous
Most make Their Guitar Sing Like David Gilmore, Mark Knopfler, etc which is sexy just like their beautiful Singing.

Very much so 👍
I was too young back in their time.
Mk , we love you . My dad show me that , when I was younger I thought it was old and boring . But Know ,
I face the truth ; magic is timeless and it ´s not boring, it’s amazing. Mark , I love you , till I die !
I was there 1986...one of all time favourite concerts. Romeo and Juliet is my 2nd favourite song of theirs. Sultans of Swing is NO1
It was played whilst a group of friends and I were just hanging around doing nothing in.particular. At the end of the song all of us were crying .
Shakespeare and Dire Straits - everything that is great about my country.
Nick Godfrey and what a country my friend what a country.
Rui Torres - Thank you Rui. Not the same as the country I grew up in as London is having some serious problems with crime, but the country does have it's history.
Nick Godfrey

I just played an audio version of so far away that I recorded when I was a 15-year-old watching this concert in amazement. I've got a VHS cassette of this somewhere that I stole the audio off many years ago to CD it's great to see it again.👍🎧🙂
Sax solo? Must be the 80s. :D May they live on forever in our hearts.
This has always been one of the most romantic songs I've ever listened to until the day I met my wife. Thats where it became our Song and our only song. I've always been a romantic to the heart but this being our song has just made me believe in only our love and here's a song to it!!
An absolute masterpiece 💓
There is a bitter-sweet scar or a flame that everyone who's loved someone and loses them must carry for life.
His voice “ feels”like I’m sinking into a warm bath in the middle of winter. Laura from Baltimore Md USA
It certainly is the greatest and most memorable love song of all time and the saxophonist Mr White makes it in there with Mark
I have played this so many times I’ve lost count and will carry on doing so - I love ❤️ it and admire it so much !!
Hello there, how are you doing, how is the weather over there?

One of the best love songs by Mark Knopfler!!! Everything is great - the music (intro, main, outro), the song lyrics! Real master of music and guitar!
