Rick I m glad to see you making videos showing your inventions. I must say you inspire me to build the next level equipment for easy transport, set up and access. Keep it going.
I built two of these rigs about two years ago. For sound, I use a JBL Eon One Pro. All the “sticks” store right in the base unit. I also used a 6U soft side rack/bag. I built a patch panel that is located in front of the rack, with antenna connection, so when sitting on a table, NOTHING is visible from the back. I used a Denon 1U rack mount mixer. All mics and cables store in the rack. You can carry the rack bag and Eon One in the same arm. Oh. And a 28,000mAh 100 watt 110v power pack. It’ll run the mics, mixer, and completely recharge my laptop for 5 hours. And the best part: I use an in ear system to wirelessly send the audio from the rack to the speaker. Ceremony set up is literally 30 seconds.
Very clean. Good job. I have been battery powered for ceremonies for years now and working on taking receptions all battery as well. I have 4 maui 5 gos with extra batteries. Love them.
nice setup. easy and clean. i have a set of LD systems DAVE 8 XS in my living room, they kick the but out of my JBL floor speakers. soooo cheap and worth every sent.
Very nice Rick, I wish I could make one of those but the only thing I have ever costume made was a Ham sandwich..and I forgot the Mayo ! Good Job Rick.
We use 24 channels of those microphones with belt packs in my high schools performing arts center. We’ve also got a pretty awesome antenna distribution system as well!
Amazing!!!! Love it.. great job... Next Business for you making custom stuff for DJs.. think about it... I bet everyone will pay for getting stuff like that done.
You have a gift for customizing your gear that should be one of your new businesses.. Custom controller cases for beginners with driverack.. battery powered ceremony systems with Phoenix mics for budget friendly packages.. packages.. you just have to source some of the gear from the manufacturer so you can put your branding and quality control.
DJ Rick Web hey can you provide the site we’re you bought the metal plate and accessories you used please, I’m getting my battery rack mount from Jim at CSNL this next week. Thanks
I've been waiting for this build for a while now! Looks good my dude, thanks for sharing! Note : if there is a way to plug power into the battery so in the event of a power outage there is no downtime due to switch delay that would be great. granted I'm sure the battery would take a hit from constant charging. Just a rough idea. love it regardless. Keep it up! You'll be my wedding DJ without a doubt!
Howdy Rick! Did you ever make a walkthrough video on how you built the rack? I'm looking to build a ceremony rack and am looking for some ideas and some how to's. Thanks.
AT is actually more preferred in the audio industry. Most concerts and top artist acts you will find more AT then shure. Shure is just more well know my DJs. Kinda like how RCF is talked up heavy by DJs but in the production field it's like beginner gear
Great job Rick just not enough channels for me, many weddings that I do and I'm sure you to where you need 4 channels at a minimal. Officiant & Groom that's 2 lapels right there, one wireless reader and guitar/piano with a singer and iPad input and a monitor out for that video guy we see at every wedding these days asking to plug in then he puts his own recorder on the officiant and I understand as he needs to cover his tail if I have bad mics. The JBL ENO Pro one is the system for me but I have 3 self powered systems. The JBL Pro has no bags of extra stuff to carry and has a built in 6 channel mixer and BT and mini jack input and that controlled output for that video guy LOL. I do use the same mic as you as I just brought 7 of them for my company along with 2 of the Sennheiser 4G 500's and although the ATW 3212 &3211(30mw out put) are great mic's the Sennheisers 500(50mw out put) I believe are a better mic to really assure no dropouts or a better chance of none LOL. All wireless mics can do weird things at times. But take the time to scan for a clear channel before your ceremony guys because these ATW's will embarrass you once in a while if you don't especially if you do many different location. I do about 120 weddings a year plus bands and many other sound events . My other ceremony systems are just a Yamaha two speaker setup with the detachable 6 channel mixer but comes in a neat rolling hotdog shape bag and I use one of these new power block that powers everything for 5 hours. Everybody makes these thing these days with two wall outlets. I bring two one for back up but have never needed it, they weigh less then 10lbs ea and cost a few hundreds each . Great setup Rick just not enough channels for me and I know you have a plan for that by just plugging your bigger mixer into your small mixer. I also use two speakers for mostly every ceremony, old habits don't die after 35 years in the DJ game. Keep jamming Rick I like your vids maybe one day I'll make one. I do think you help a lot of young DJ's getting in the game and I thank you for that.
I know this is an old vlog, but you should be using the on-board mixer on the Maui 5. One or two inputs could be for the wireless mic , the aux can playback from your phones bluetooth. If you need to use a conventional wireless, not a video camera one that works off of batteries, Im sure colorado sound and lights sells bricks.
Oh shit. My editor left that clip out. There is an additional 1/4" stereo out for videographers. Plus there is another stero pair 1/4" input available for another music source like a guitar or if there is more then that just hook in a bigger mixer through that input
What mic combiner are you using? How are you planning to tie this in to the reception setup? I notice you only have rca inputs. Be sweet to have xlr inputs and run reception set into this. Or maybe have some mic line outs to run into the dj reception rig/mixer. I'm having a hard time deciding on my setup butthanks for this. Pretty rad set up!! Does Colorado Sound sell those battery powered conditioners like yours?
There EV passive combiner kits. And I actually only use it for ceremony. Seprate mics in the reception rig. Just made life easier then trying to split them
Only drawback I can see to the Maui go is if you are doing a ceremony on uneven ground...grassy, hilly, etc, as opposed to using the Bose S1 with a 3rd leg extension tripod
Hey Rick, when you use your PA2 with your VRX918 and SRX815, do you use full range outputs on the PA2 and daisy chain the audio to the SRX tops from the subs, or do you run separate cables for the tops and subs and use the PA2's crossover?
Rick, thank you for all of your awesome videos. Which input do you plug your XLR into the maui 5 go from your mixer? I can't figure out which one does the best sound.
@@DJRickWeb Thank you so very much. It did sound better in the line outlet with the mixer. When I am using it as a wireless speaker in another room with a sennheiser transmitter the mic input sounded better. Thanks again for all of your time.
This is a beautiful build, quick question...How did you build the back panel of the rack with the XLR and RCA inputs? I would like to build one for myself.
One question I've always had in the back of my mind on the Maui 5 Go's. Rick, for how much it seems you are such a JBL fan, why not the EON One Pro's? Is it sound quality, price, or even battery life...just a question
Rick I would love to build this very type of system!!! Would you be able to allow another DJ not in your area have this same type of setup but with different speakers.
Question Rick: Have you had mic drop outs when OUTSIDE...because the receiver antennas are low by being mounted in the case and possibly blocked by the guests? I've found myself always wanting to keep that line of sight and most times I am behind the guests and antennas on a table can get blocked? Love your videos...I watch em all! Mark
I always tell to starter DJs and Sound Guys: the most important part of ceremony sound set up is to PUT SPEAKERS AT THE FRONT! DONT PUT SPEAKERS AT THE BACK OR ON THE SIDE, don't be lazy and respect the audience, bride groom, and their parents and do it right!
Freaking genius. If someone sold this entire system I'd pay top dollar right now. Huge time saver with tons of flexibility.

3000 people. That is a huge gig!
That's a festival
13 years old and handled a 3000 person gig ?
3000 gig? i call bs lol

How are you connecting the mixer to the battery power supply? The connection isn't typical 12v is it?
Dope man. Looks great, clean and organized.
Wish I had techy friends like yours!
Great video... Learning a lot Keep up the great work!!!
Do you still use this setup? This is great advice thank you!!
Newer video showing the 4th generation
I thought the ac outlets worked off the battery. So if I don't have those little dc connections on my mixer I'm screwed right?
Amazing!!!! Love it.. great job... Next Business for you making custom stuff for DJs.. think about it... I bet everyone will pay for getting stuff like that done.
That is a killer setup. Way to go Rick.
Hey Rick, what is the link to the antenna combiners? Thanks & really good video, going to help ALOT ALOT more for my ceremonies.

Custom controller cases for beginners with driverack.. battery powered ceremony systems with Phoenix mics for budget friendly packages.. packages.. you just have to source some of the gear from the manufacturer so you can put your branding and quality control.
Cool idea!
Perhaps for second revision for the mic box you could do wireless xlr and add a usb port. Awesome concept once more.
I am no where near trusting wireless audio for main pa
awesome video! link for the antennas? Also, can they work with Sennheiser EM-XSW2? Many thanks!
Yes and yes. There shure half wave antennas
How large of a ceremony crowd or venue will that speaker handle? Thx for the video. Nice setup
I do 150. But you can add a second Maui since there battery powered and do 300 no problem
DJ Rick Web thanks, Rick!
Cool video building a similar setup like yours, have you had time to show how the put the build all together?
No
DJ Rick Web hey can you provide the site we’re you bought the metal plate and accessories you used please, I’m getting my battery rack mount from Jim at CSNL this next week. Thanks
I had a local company make it

We are looking into adding a capacitor or two to smooth over the power drop so they dont shut off
@@DJRickWeb can you help me with this battery powerd setup?
@@djrensvandeburgt1236 it’s pretty easy all you need is getting the equipment first.
Thanks for sharing, does the rack mount power unit come with outlets or those custom one off power plugs like on their smaller battery packs?
The outlets plugs into one of the outlets and only works if you have power. Doesn't work off battery
Howdy Rick! Did you ever make a walkthrough video on how you built the rack? I'm looking to build a ceremony rack and am looking for some ideas and some how to's. Thanks.
Nope
Total Price for this build with everything you have here would be $2564.99! I believe its worth the investment! Love the Rig!!
oh nice ! like that review. Thanks Rick no doubt .
which lithium-ion power supply did you use in this video?
I told Jim at csnl what I needed to power and he made it to those specs
Great video. Why do you choose the AT mics over Shure?

Dope work man. May have to scoop that wireless speaker setup
You should build and sell these..
What was the cost of the custom battery power supply?
It's a beta model. Were testing out it before deciding on price. I think it will be around 200 to 250 when we finalize it
@@DJRickWeb What's the timeframe for release on this power supply? I want one!! lol
Hi djrickweb brilliant video and their's no feedback from the speaker and every pa speakers should problem solve the speaker feedback issue

Just got mine. Confused about plugging in the wireless mics. How do you plug into ac power and battery power simultaneously?
Contact colorado sound and light they can provide pictures and a wire diagram
Great video! Where can we get the custom plate you use? And more or less what does that run?
Ben at nlfx can take care of you
Great video. How would you accommodate the videorapher if they want to connect to you to get audio of the ceremony?
Oh shit. My editor left that clip out. There is an additional 1/4" stereo out for videographers. Plus there is another stero pair 1/4" input available for another music source like a guitar or if there is more then that just hook in a bigger mixer through that input

@@DJRickWeb yeah makes sense to have the reception rig all set and not have to add things to it. Great work bro!!!!
Rick, do you use the same mic rack during your receptions or do you have a separate rig for that?
Used to. My other DJs do that. I got tired of the switching and just bought two more mics.
Can I sync another unit using tws bluethoot connect for real left/right stereo sound?
No
Only drawback I can see to the Maui go is if you are doing a ceremony on uneven ground...grassy, hilly, etc, as opposed to using the Bose S1 with a 3rd leg extension tripod
True. You can always put a rock under it to level it out. Done it once or twice now. Lol
Very Nice Rick! :)
Hey Rick, when you use your PA2 with your VRX918 and SRX815, do you use full range outputs on the PA2 and daisy chain the audio to the SRX tops from the subs, or do you run separate cables for the tops and subs and use the PA2's crossover?
Seprate cables and do all the crossover points in the driverack as well as eq
DJ Rick Web interesting; thanks for the reply. It definitely makes sense as you can then control the output of the subs separately from the tops.
How in the world is the mixer pre wired in that tiny space?
There is plenty if space
Rick, thank you for all of your awesome videos. Which input do you plug your XLR into the maui 5 go from your mixer? I can't figure out which one does the best sound.
Line
@@DJRickWeb Thank you so very much. It did sound better in the line outlet with the mixer. When I am using it as a wireless speaker in another room with a sennheiser transmitter the mic input sounded better. Thanks again for all of your time.

Dont we all 2025
Nice invention. So what’s the battery capacity
Have to check the designs from jim
This is a beautiful build, quick question...How did you build the back panel of the rack with the XLR and RCA inputs? I would like to build one for myself.
I had that made by a friend that has a metal shop. Contact nlfx pro they make custom panel plates
I use led sound active lights on marror ball
Is the mixer secured with just the foam ?
Yep. Dont flip the case

ok cool im looking forward for the review.
Sooooo dope you make me want to spend $$$
Haha mark 2 is in development. And it wont have the power surge when switching from ac to dc
me too. $$$$ Think im gonna max a credi card soon
Very cool. What does that rack weigh?
30 35 ish lb is my guess
@@DJRickWeb I built a super light battery powered ceremony system and it's 28.5 pounds. I'm guessing yours is at least 50. C'mon, weigh that thing!
Its definitely not 50lb I lift all the time its maybe 40. There isn't much in the rack.
