I bought linen sofas that have white machine washable slip covers. People think I am mad having three white sofas and two toddlers. But they look incredible and I don't need to stress out about them. The have been weed on, vomited on, coffee, toddler finger prints, the works. A quick wash in the machine and they come out great every time. The trick is to never leave a stain on it to dry. Wiping it with a wet white cloth (don't use a coloured cloth) can get out lots of superficial stains. If that doesn't work I put it in the machine. Worst case I throw in a little bit of oxygen bleach with the powder to combat the stain.

I have a white sofa with 3 young children, the arms look awful, I have to keep throws on them to hide the marks 😂 but I’d still get a white sofa again 😅
Just make sure you can wash the covers! But if you can't wash them it will be grubby within a year! It's an added stress you don't need when you've got a baby and dogs. So just make sure they're washable! Otherwise I'd listen to Johnny....a slight beige even or something with a muted fleck would be better if you still want to stick with light tonal colours. X
After my first I went down in size to the smallest I’ve ever been. You have no idea how your body will change. If you love the clothes keep them and re assess them in a year. ❤

I have the same color palate in my home including a very light colored rug. I have a great pet carpet cleaner. We put down blankets on the sofa and just a little tip.... Vacuum your sofas weekly the same dust and pet dander that lands on your floor and furniture will accumulate on the sofa if you do not vacuum it. Also if you don't vacuum it when it gets wet or you try and clean it you will see circle water mark always. We have a dog and two children who are older now. We have always had cream coloured sofas in every room. I have one very very clumsy friend she isn't allowed red wine in the family room🤭

Whatever you love, keep hold of. I’ve had 3 kids, with a big gap between the first & the second & I got back into all of my stuff, I’m now smaller than I was before any kids so ended up buying new stuff recently as it was too big. Everyone’s different but it’s not uncommon to fit back into your old clothes ❤
Agree that no white or cream sofa will get dirty very quickly and be a bad mistake. Babies are sometimes sick and sometimes have bowl explosions . Brown would be better ❤
I've had a white sofa for 13 years with two kids. As some others said...things happen like chocolate, tomato sauce, blood from little scratches. Just clean it as soon as you see it. Also there^s a thing called top coat...it's a way of making the fabric less delicate I think. At least that's what Minotti uses.
Also...I'm not so sure about the Boucle fabric. We just bought a bed with Boucle and it seems you can easily get caught on it which damages the fabric.
Life is short, get the white sofa! Throw blankets make a great temporary cover so you can still be cozy and if anything drops on the blanket, you just have to wash that 💕

I love white sofas … get covers as some have suggested and enjoy them! ❤ it will be nice to be able to wash the sofa surface anyway, as you probably don’t want your baby’s face on fabric people sit on with outdoor clothing. ❤
I hope it's not too late and you can change the sofa colour. I think a darker muted colour would look better. Olive perhaps or sage or just a darker oatmeal maybe? White is very stark and bright and won't make the room feel as relaxing but ultimately your choice of course xx

The white sofa will be fine with a baby but when they hit 1 it will be non stop cleaning. Tomato sauces and sun cream don’t come out of anything so I would probably keep them out of the room when the toddler years hit. Congratulations on the house and baby! 💕
White sofa depends on how careful you are and where your child will play with messy things etc. will they have a playroom or will they be doing painting/playdough etc in the lounge…if the latter I would avoid a white sofa. We bought white sofas from Neptune for 6k and then cancelled the order and went with a cheaper sofa from next in a wipeable fabric and it was the best decision. Well get our white sofa’s once our child is a little older ❤

Sell it now while its still in fashion. Trends could have completely changed in 2-4 years by the time you finish having kids/get back in shape. After covid people had to declutter lots of clothes that weren't really worn after lockdowns. I certainly did!
I used to have a white sofa. It was a nightmare and it was just me! No kids or pets. Now I have cats and I couldn't imagine what the sofa would look like if I had the white one now. 🤷

Congrats on the pregnancy 🥰The stretchmarks its too early to tell, it will only show after you deliver and for the breast at times even after breastfeeding only, the extent of stretchmarks are only fully visible when the skin starts going back to normal after all the stretching

I would keep all the clothes which doesn’t fit now, even if you will wear them in 3y time, u have a capsule wardrobe so it will be always trendy 😊 But I would start buying maternity clothes rather then buying bigger sizes. I had the issue also during pregnancy with leggings digging in my belly until I bought pregnancy leggings.

Definitely wouldn’t go that light of fabric if it’s not slipcover that you can remove and wash. If it’s non removable those sofas will look terrible in 1-2 years. You don’t realize how much babies spit up spontaneously and then when older with bottles and snacks. Would never do white unless I could remove and actually put it in the washing machine. Spot treating will still end up leaving yellow discoloration where it got wet from spot cleaning.
Go for brown it will be great
I have a vax and they’re great! I also wouldn’t bin anything you actually like! My sister had two babies (2 years apart) and then she lost the baby weight and actually went slimmer than pre baby! So you may definitely fit them after you’re done with having babies! At this point you have no idea what your post baby body will look like so I wouldn’t chuck anything out! Xx

The issue with the baby won’t be until they are a toddler, in my experience if you want to avoid it getting dirty then you need a play room and to hit that have baby in the room with the couch when they get bigger and can walk/ eat etc. because no one is watching their child 100% of the time. If they have another place to be then it should be fine

I agree with Johnnie too white. I would have went with a light tan. You are naturally skinny so you will probably get back down to your normal size quickly. I would not get rid of anything till after postpartum to see what you fit into. Your buying clothes that fit you now but those will be too small for you in a couple months. Should be buying bigger.

Do like the sofa design you have decided on! Have you thought of not having a wood coffee table, but a upholstered bench instead! As a Mother of four & worried about Toddlers walking around the sharp ends of a coffee table, rounded edges or upholstered better! Just thinking ahead! 😊❤

In my experience , you will return to your pre pregnancy size after baby #1. You will not likely return to pre pregnancy weight after baby #2.

Completely disagree. There is so many factors that every woman is different. I personally when back to my original body after 3 babies but have friends who struggled after first baby. This is completely subjective depending on your personal body and genetics.
