I've been a registered Independent my entire adult life, but more than ever I'm a hopeful American. The change and optimism the Democratic party is bringing is really energizing.
I have too but i changed to democrat this year. The right has nothing left for me anymore right now. I am hopeful that if we get Harris in we can get the right back from the radicals but until that actually happens i felt it would send a message switching to democrat

The DNC needs to develop and cement in a decades long strategy to continuously develop and exploit such talent to the point where the GOP disappears from the political landscape or it is replaced by serious, nation focussed operators as a proper centre right party that never allows the growth from within or offers a home to the likes of a Tea Party or MAGA. Instead of the Democrats having to continuously fight a party that is more motivated to bend the rules through voter suppression, Gerrymandering etc, America would be better served by having a proper opposition that sees improvement of American society as their main motivation.

"Stolen valor" is complete hogwash. Facts: Walz retired in May, 2005. Orders to deploy to Iraq were received by his unit in July, 2005. Stateside, Walz was only still in the Guard on a waiver due to his extreme hearing loss. He knew he was ineligible to be deployed to a war zone because he couldn't pass the physical. Paperwork also shows he filed to run for Congress around the same time, but he couldn't have been deployed to Iraq with his men in any case.
