    HA Ha ha ha. You guys cracked me up in the blooper section. First you in the green haze of getting all the green garment out in a sentence and then your cutie patootie hubby got to get in the mix and try to help out. Have you ever had him pick out an outfit for you to wear? I wonder how well does he know your style? I really enjoyed this tutorial of mixed print styling 101. I think I finally getting the beginner hang of it. You are such an inspiration. Thrifted at a store connected to an retirement home and found several pairs of some great wool plaid men trousers. Then I spied some men wool plaid blazers and grab them. I next went into the men dress shirts that had stripes/plaids/graphic that had the same common colors as the trousers and blazers. I tried them on, I think I finally got the mixed print down with the styling of these new pieces. I think I subconsciously picked up on these rules because I seen so many great examples from you and a couple of other RUclipsr (KarenBritchic and BJones). I will be saving this video for future guidance. You are such a blessing to your followers, like I always said in the beginning you spoil us. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you in the days to come.

    Loved this one!!! I had a realization watching this: you make it all seem relatable and attainable. It's not so "out there" that I feel overwhelmed or like it's only for a few super-creative types who went to fashion school, you know? It's as if we can go thrifting and/or shopping in our closets and get inspired to try new things, no matter who or where we are! You make me feel JOY in the possibility of it all! 😊 My creative juices just get flowing!! For me, a huge thing I love about your videos the way you always show how you've styled things. Your outfits perfectly walk the line of unique and cool without being too much. It's an art and a gift, for sure! So appreciate all the care, thought, time and heart you put into each video, Erica! 😙😙😙

    Just an excellent tutorial video about combining colors, prints and stripes of all kinds and sizes. Everything looked wonderful! (But can someone explain to me this thing about big, black clunky men's shoes with cute outfits?? I like clunky shoes, like wedges and thicker-soled flats and chunky heels, but I don't get the big, black, looks-like-I'm-wearing-my-husband's shoes...couldn't they be a little more in proportion to these great looks??)

    • @TinyAcorn
      @TinyAcorn  5 лет назад

      Haha! This was a trend I saw all over the streets of Paris when I went. I think the juxtaposition of combining menswear and more feminine pieces together creates a really interesting look. There were also a lot of people wearing the Dr. Martin lace up boots which gave the same feeling. Lots of flowy dresses paired with tough boots.

    I loved this video so much! This is probably asking too much but here I go anyway...I ask because I'm stuck. Would you consider doing a video like this one explaining how you take a VERY period vintage piece (example: an 80's dress, distinct 80's print, color and shillouete) and how you style those pieces to be relevent today. I understand buying current trends but vintage item that meet those trends. How do you incorporate peices that speak to you, but are a walking era stereotype and wear them without feeling like you are in a costume? Or is buying only vintage pieces that meet current style trends the only way it works? I feel like your superpower is making vintage feel so modern and fresh. I'd love to hear how you approach this. Thank you for all you are do. I always look forward to Thursday!

    • @TinyAcorn
      @TinyAcorn  5 лет назад

      Thank you so much Amy for your comment and suggestion! I think it’s a great idea and I might try incorporating more of explaining stuff like that in an upcoming Styling Vintage video. I think there are some pieces (esp from the 80s) that can be hard to style in a contemporary way. My suggestion would be to go for more toned down versions of this era- for example instead of wearing an acid wash dress with rhinestones and huge shoulders, opt for maybe a red silk dress that has an 80s silhouette with broad shoulders but the rest of the dress is simple. (I saw a dress like this the other day and I almost bought it). So- you can wear the acid wash rhinestone dress if you want but you can’t really style that piece in a way that feels modern because the piece is just too stuck in the 80s. Whereas the red silk dress with the iconic 80s power shoulder is easier to style for today. Pair it with some heels from a different era (not the 80s) and keep the accessories contemporary as well. I hope that helps!

      As someone who is self-identified as socially aware and has worked as a social worker in a variety of arenas,I feel like I can say this. RELAX! Her channel is obviously about slow/sustainable fashion and positivity. I don't see how she is obligated to be hyper aware of PC inclusion. I feel like if you're looking for someone who is always completely socially "woke" then you're in need of finding other inspiration.

    • @TheNewYear75
      @TheNewYear75 5 лет назад

      Obv it’s not a huge deal if she decides to use more gender-inclusive language or not, it’s her choice. There are much bigger fish to fry out there. It’s not about policing language or encouraging a hyper ‘pc’ environment just for the sake of it- I’m simply mentioning that there are those who may appreciate feeling included in her greeting. However, her channel, her choice.
      ((i’m personally a much bigger fan of those who use their platforms in the most inclusive manner possible. i definitely understand that there are many who don’t think twice about this, don’t think it’s a big deal, or just don’t give a shit. everyone’s entitled to their own opinion!))
