In Colombia we usually have a candle in our homes, and we “ask”to the candle for a miracle (a solution for a problem, or a deep desire). Additionally, we have a tradition every year that takes place in the “dia de las velitas (candles day)” (7th of december) , where people light candles this day for receiving the mother of god (miracle) and go outside with family and neighbors as you watched when abuelo Pedro and Abuela met. Very Colombian! 🇨🇴🇨🇴🦋🦋
Thank you! Loved the film so so much. Been watching people react to this, and videos on the making of it and this is the FIRST I have heard anyone mention this. Awesome!
Es cierto, en mi casa mi mamá siempre tiene una vela encendida cuando hay un problema o necesita un milagro, es como la representación de la luz de Dios y todos los 7 de diciembre encendemos las velitas fuera de la casa.
One of the most genuine things that happens in the movie is that Abuela, in the first scene, gives little Mirabel a very gentle version of her story. Abuela Alma hides the horror of that moment from the children and grandchildren to protect them.
Awwww🥺! yes...it's so emotional. I cried a lot when I listen to it. Was so nice and wonderful to see you both guys reacting to it. I didn't know Yatra was so famous hahaha Hope you like the movie😊 FACTS: The movie shows a little about what many rural people live here in Colombia and is the forced displacement by guerrillas. That's why the couple in the movie and all the people had to move to another place. Oh! and..... that river is called "Caño Cristales" or river with seven colours. Big hugs from Colombia!!!🤗
Hahhaha I actually love Spanish songs so much but never listened to Yatra's songs before so we might share some reaction videos to his songs later 😍 En esta manera, puedo practicar mi español también 🙈 Muchas gracias por las informaciones querida! You are so awesome!! Besos y abrazos ❤️🤗 Much love to Colombia 🥰
Especificaly The 1000 days war because the movie is said to hapen 50ty years after that and that war so its 1950 in theres but everything is stuck in time like in some towns around here thata are so far apart that you can see them dress and act like they dis in the last part of 19th century or early 20 century.
It took me several times listening to this (Probably because I was busy wringing out my crying towel), but I realized I'd heard this melody earlier in the movie. Abuela introduces it during her verse in "The Family Madrigal". Granted, it's more up-tempo than this rendition, but there's still a trace of sadness in the melody, giving us a hint of foreshadowing.
Amazing reaction! I know many people want you to react to all of you, but I have to warn you that it's at the end of the movie andbasically serve as a conclusion so spoiler warning.
I am from Poland 🇵🇱 I never cried so much. I am guessing it was colonization or something in Colombia. We suffered 3 times Russian aggresion in Poland. We can imagine how colombians peoples feel. In Auschwitz Birkenau dies my family... i felt so much emotions and cry watching this. Don't hurt each other just be good friends.
I've made this observation in other channels, but it bears repeating... La casita seems to intuit the family members' natural abilities/affinities and magically amplifies them: Julieta was probably a natural healer/caretaker, Pepa was fascinated by the weather, Luisa was probably a very sturdy little girl, Isabella may have had a green thumb as a child; even Antonio reportedly likes animals. We see that Mirabel is naturally empathetic and insightful. La casita didn't deny her a magical Gift; she was already so powerful with her natural inclinations she didn't need the boost! I firmly believe that each of us has at least one "majikal" power: Some of us can sing, others are great at math, some are wizards in the kitchen, a few win Oscars due to their skills. If we're lucky, we learn what our Gift is; if we're clever, we develop that Gift into a talent or skill; if we're wise, we don't over-reach, because even majik has its limits.
There's one other person in the family with no powers though.. Abuela. She received the miracle and Casita, and her descendants got gifts. After Mirabel rallies the family and places the doorknob with her initial on the house Casita comes back, the miracle renewed. Like Abuela, Mirabel's gift is Casita, her gift *is* the miracle, passed on to her to keep the family together and traditions alive.
Me dio ternura que él no tenía idea de qué era lo que pasaba y te quedaba mirando para que le explicaras JAJAJAJAJJAJAJAJ adoré sus reacciones, la canción me hace llorar siempre que la escucho
This song made me cry when I saw the movie because although I am not Colombian I am Latin and I understand very well what is happening, but above all because I remembered the story of my grandparents and how my grandfather died working when some assailants shot him for my grandmother it was very difficult to get ahead with 5 children and when recently I had given birth to the youngest of my uncles ❤
Great video. I've been watching ppl react to this song and bawling my eyes out with them, lol. Oh, and random, but the girl kind of looks like Katherine McPhee.
So I guess nobody realize that the yellow butterflies are the same butterflies that the grandfather saw to be able to see the grandmother for the first time
Cada vez que me encuentro con una nube de mariposas amarillas yo digo: por ahi debe estar Mauricio Babilonia, debe estar en camino de ir a ver a Meme ( Renata Remedios)
There are some theories about the sad story of Abuela, it could take place during "La Violencia" (The Violence) a civil war in Colombia from 1948 to 1958 or "Guerra de los Mil Días" (War of 1000 days) an another civil war from 1889 to 1902 (During 1130 days exactly). But that could be more recent too because a Colombiana's reactor has talked about it and that was super emotional for her. When you gonna watch the movie, go watch this video for a theory about Mirabelle : Film Theory: Yes, Mirabel DOES Have A Gift! (Encanto) : ruclips.net/video/CWt6jorWel0/видео.html
Something that came to my mind, is that those four horsemen who were chasing the villagers ¿could they be a representation or a metaphor of the "4 horsemen of the apocalypse"?

This one hits home every time. Living in exile since the 80s. I was almost 5 when we had to leave.

There is one more song it is called All of You
There is an actual translation of dos Oruguitas in the credits of the movie.
The best line is
Don’t hold on too tight, you must fly apart to reunite.
You may already know, but there's an English version of this song too, but this Spanish version is just so beautiful.
Agree, the Spanish version is amazing! It’s so beautiful and it makes me cry, even though I don’t speak Spanish
The song included the aspect of the Colombian civil war that was what they were escaping from
