    Lots of good points to take from this video. It is never one strategy fits all, or one point or way must be the only way… brand is important but so is driving traffic to your brand…

    Glad you pointed kudos for calling them out. I hate when they act like their ways are the only ways & they’re so genius. Kids under 18 are making just much money, proving you clearly don’t need to be a genius to make money online, you just have to find people willing to believe the rhetoric.

      Thank you for watching! It's always a good idea to be a little skeptical any time someone says this is the one and only way to do something. Context, objectives, etc. can all influence what the correct strategy is. And even then, there's likely more than one way to achieve what you're aiming for.

    I think youve made some powerful points between branding and direct response in your perspective. I think what would help solidify your points is either sharing case studies from other brands from the points you're talking about or case studies from your own clients.

    @marketingbyemma so your mean was here is that both branding and direct response is important for long term , branding produce trust and direct response give traffic and produce sales , branding give awareness , etc am i right emma

    Good clip Emma and your points re-branding are on point.
    But you are basing what Russel "thinks" and "believes" on what he is saying on his clip... STOP Caring About Your Brand... Do This Instead!. That clip is just a marketing clip for his products and services, not an insight into his greater thoughts and beliefs. He is a direct marketer. He is going to push direct marketing against every other possible contender. At the moment branding is getting a resurgence due to AH and many others. This is him pushing back. Is what he is saying his true beliefs on this topic? I don't believe it is. It is essentially an internet commercial for him and his stuff. As this clip is for you and your brand and products and/or services.
    Nicely done though, and hats off to your ballsiness in taking on a Giant. Brava... 👏👏👏

      You mention that it's mostly just a commercial for him, however, he poises this as a debate and invites people to chime in. So, I took him up on the challenge. When you're offered choices of A and B, it's worth also considering C - none of the above.
      I'd actually argue that in this clip he's saying that brand doesn't matter, and doesn't seem to have a firm grasp of what branding is. Even if it's just one video to prove one point, it's still important to call out this out. I think this particularly important because it's a common misconception that is held by many people. Of course he's a direct marketer, and is going to push that as the lever, but to dismiss branding as unimportant could be very misleading to people.
      Ultimately, Russell and Gary have both built very successful businesses and have a lot great insights to share with people. With that said, even knowledgeable people get things wrong sometimes. And when that happens, it's important to acknowledge that so people don't get lead down the wrong path.
