Beautiful recording! Twenty-five years ago, it would have been hard to imagine the bells of churches inside the Kremlin walls being rung at all, much less for religious purposes.
I visited the Kremlin in late June, 1989. What I would have given to have heard those church bells peal/toll, or for any church bell in the city to ring (at least those few which might have survived the indiscriminate Soviet purges of the previous decades).
