  • Many of you requested a detailed video about the settings of my windsurf gear. Here I take the chance to present my slalom sail range for fin and foil. I also talk about my settings and rig one sail as an example. Especially interesting are the RACE SF sails which you can adjust for both fin and foil windsurfing. Leave questions in the comments if you have some!

    This is my 43rd year windsurfing. I'm watching your video and I love patrick boards, this is Nota Is criticism of patrick international or The narrator of this video.
    Everyone quits windsurfing because it's too complex. This video illustrates that we have gone in completely insane with the complexity.
    This video just illustrates the ridiculous complexity of windsurfing and windfoiling Two disciplines multiple sails for each totally insane expense and complexity.
    No wonder everyone is winging you're destroying your own industry form within

    Very interesting video! Interesting that you have the boom on the lower side.
    I would like a video about trimming during sailing (how you use the outhaul etc)

    Nice video and very interesting! Seems that Patrik have done a lot of homework in order to come up with 4 diferent types of racing sails! ..and the mast size tuning bit is very useful!

    Seems like you are back from the training and doing some product promo video.
    Very useful video with handful of informations.

    Thanks for the video. Good job! When I read the title I was hoping that you tell us the wind range for the sails. I'm especially interested what is the minimum and maximum wind for each sailsize? And if you are not racing, let's say freeriding, do you use smaller sails?

    • @michelebeckerwindsurfing
      @michelebeckerwindsurfing  Год назад

      Sorry for misleading you! 😅 That would be interesting to know but also quite depends on the rider. Good question but I usually never go freeriding, I always train. But sometimes indeed I choose to train less powered so then I choose the smaller size if I am considering two sizes.

    Wie viele Segelsorten braucht man? Und Patrik so: JA!!! 😂

    Really interesting video. One question: Longer mast is stiffer? Just a few weeks ago I got the tip that a longer mast makes the sail a bit softer 🤔

    Great source of info you have here! Are you using the Lisa pulley system?

  • @loskiff

    Do you feel any difference in stability between the upper and lower outhaul? When I use my sail in the lower one I feel like it wants to fall either on the back or on the front and I must keep It straight up

    • @michelebeckerwindsurfing
      @michelebeckerwindsurfing  Год назад +1

      I know that it doesn’t work with all brands. Sometimes it feels like they just put it in for marketing reasons so I know your feeling. Maybe could also be to much downhaul? Anyway I am happy that with Patrik it makes a difference but both is useful

    Did you try using dedicated foil designs for fin windsurfing? I've seen young racers in Bic OD class use foil sails for racing nad training.

    • @michelebeckerwindsurfing
      @michelebeckerwindsurfing  Год назад +1

      Yes just recently I have tried my 4.8 foil sail on fin in 40 knots of wind. It is going okay but especially after the gybe you feel the missing backhand pressure. A friend of mine used a 7.9 foilsail on fin last year and although it was not peak performance he could easily plane and have fun

    Hey. Dont you use less downhaul for foiling on race SF? Or you always go to downhaul indicator on the sail no matter you use it for fin or foil?

    • @michelebeckerwindsurfing
      @michelebeckerwindsurfing  Год назад +1

      Hi, yes I do slightly less download when I am foiling. In my experience though it is good to go right to the indications when foiling and for fin slighty ahead.

    Auswahl wie bei Autoherstellern, ist so eine Spezialisierung notwendig und spürt man tatsächlich Unterschiede oder wo ist der Sinn?

    • @michelebeckerwindsurfing
      @michelebeckerwindsurfing  Год назад

      Ja man spürt extreme Unterschiede. Genau wie bei verschiedenen Automodellen. Im Endeffekt haben aber alle Segel eine Sachen gemeinsam: man kann damit Windsurfen gehen und wer sich nicht spezialisieren möchte, fährt einfach irgendwas 🤙🏼
