    The Tune-Cartoons series was made in Australia by Rowl Greenhalgh Productions, with music by the Australian Broadcasting Corp. I used to see this on TV all the time as a "filler," but it was re-titled "A Woodland Dream" as part of a series called Krazytoons. Years later I learned Krazytoons were a bootlegged film package, mainly pirated copies of 16mm home-movie cartoon prints, sold outright on the cheap to small TV stations.

    Ironically, this cartoon was once distributed illegally by a seedy TV company in America under the title "Woodland Dreams".

    I saw this back in my youth ( I am 67 ), and it haunted me. There was an influx of foreign animated shorts in the 50s and 60s that I can remember, several having an Asian/Russian origin ( if I remember correctly by the illustrations of setting and costuming ) that were used as afternoon kid-filler that deserved so much more recognition. Does anyone concentrate on this genre that I could get in touch with?

    It's been believed that Matildas were Australian terms for bags hence the name of the bush ballad that was written in 1895 by the late Banjo Paterson. Please look up the fun facts about Waltzing Matilda when you get a chance.

    I heard this from a family friend back in '71 when l was about 10. I thought it was something she just made up. Maybe it's just me but l thought it was OH, I'LL SING MATILDA. Well, it kinda DOES sound like a - walzing Matilda. I didn't know anything about the song. I just thought a jumbuck was a DEER, as in buck,, male deer.

    I bet the Aussie slang has made people ignorant of the true meaning of the song- until they look up the meaning. Or come across this video.

    This song and cartoon is prophetic for Australia. The swatter refers to the beast of the anti-Christ and the three troopers, those in the Christian Church in Australia who have given their authority to beast. As you can see from the film , its all about land and the food of the land. A sad song soon to be fulfilled.

    • @mwj5368
      @mwj5368 4 года назад +3

      Hi! Do you mean a kind of owner dominance of the land maybe by British imperialism and the people in general were forced into hardship because they had no land to homestead and survive, that this song has a kind of unfortunate historic truth to it for Australians?
