Rules explanations/clarifications/mistakes: 1. The Milano will rotate throughout the game with the next "First Player" and does not stay with the initial First Player. I will play this way for the first 4 scenarios. Not really that big of a difference in game play. (not used in this scenario, but note made for other plays). 2. At around 24:00, used a thwart card while engaged with a Patrol minion. New keywords, easy to overlook. :)
I thought the Milano was only in play when using the Ship Command modular set. It would make some market cards less useful based on the scenario. Did I miss a rule somewhere? Thanks again for the play through.
Thanks for sharing. Just played against The Collector and lost. The collection got us. The game was fun but tough. Damage the villain, control the threat AND manage the collection total. Good gravy! :-)
Very interesting! Your way of beating him was to ham him down much quicker. My game took about 1.5 hours cos I was so insistent on getting stuff out of the collection etc but I like your method better!
@Prodigal Ink Yep, Patrol and Guard are two easy things to overlook, and it does prevent the player from thwarting the main scheme, not just the hero. Thanks!
Oh thanks so much for the video! I was playing thinking that everytime that a card is discarded (i.e when paying costs for example) in any manner it would go to the Collection but as I see it only goes when its activated by any discard effect, i'm I right?
Have played him a few times now and can’t keep the collection down. Exhausting your hero to get one back is just overpowered for the villain. Yeah I’m gonna move on it really sucks. Kinda wish I would have bought mad titans shadow instead, keep hearing how hard this expansion is. Doesn’t make the game fun for me when it’s impossible to beat the villains, but thanks for your videos tDale, always love seeing someone win this game haha
@Jayme A Thanks for watching! Both versions of the Collector really force you to play the game differently. The Collectors, and Ronan are probably my least played villains. Best of luck as you continue on! :)
I think Groot will play best, and be more thematic with protection, but I live pairing up Aggression and Justice. And with all the schemes and minions ... I was nervous. :)
@@DaletheCasualGamer just an update I have played this scenario 8 times now and still can’t beat him so I’m coming back to watch your play through again to pick up tips and maybe use your decks too.
Thanks for the playthrough. One question about something i did not get, @ 34:50 I thought the max threat on the main scheme was 20(10 per player) not 24?
@Anders Berg Thanks for watching! I attached a card to the main scheme adding 4 to the threat, so it went from 20 to 24. Hope that helps, and happy gaming! :)
Battery pack pistol etc. for Rocket doesn’t say to discard if there are no more tokens on it. So should I assume that it doesn’t need to be discarded and put into the collection?
@Frank Zanca Correct, only items with "Uses" are automatically discarded when they use all the tokens, but Rocket's ability allows him to discard tech to draw 2 cards, so sometimes it might be worth doing that even against the Collector. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching! :)
@Cevin Mitchell Thanks for watching! They are UberStax and UberTrayz and purchase info can be found at www.uberstax.com I did a video highlighting them at ruclips.net/video/dyC9jiuOrwc/видео.html Enjoy!
Well done! This villain was a pain! Hate those ghosts and starsharks although sometimes it is convenient that the artifacts go to them instead of collector. When you got the Ghost as a boost you should not have been confused though as it is not 'revealed'. Before that the bot with patrol should have stopped you from thwarting though. Took us quite a few try to win and even then we barely managed to rush him down, one more turn and he would have won. Was this your first try?
@@DaletheCasualGamer Even more impressive then, you're a better player than I am :D If you win Ronan first try then I'll be super impressed! I actually gave up on him haha
Sorry but I am confused....the Force response on Collector card says: every card going to the discard pile goes to the collection instead...doesn't that means EVERY card from the beginning of the game (the ones we use as resources too???) What am I missing? Please explain....
@Memmnarch1981 I went through the scenario once and haven't gone back. I will at some point, and honestly, I do generally just play heavy the week after a new release and then take off to other games for 2-3 weeks. Not sure what hero or heroes I want to use for a better chance. :) Good luck!
@Prodigal Ink Anything that is an "action" can be done during another players turn. It is discussed in the rules reference under "Action". Hope that helps! :)
@14:20 he would have went to the collection instead of the victory display. Once you remove him from the collection then he goes to the victory display
@Joshua Silva Unless there has been a FAQ on this, those cards are not discarded from play, they go to another area, so do not go to the collection. Could you provide a link to the ruling? Thanks!
@@DaletheCasualGamer seems like a pretty gray area I’ve been playing it that way.! Just because his forced response is Any card discarded form play got to the collection ( encounter or character) end its still an encounter card at the end of the day 🤷🏾♂️
This game has a lot of “specific” triggers, so being discarded from play would be different than removed from play. I believe that is the purpose as there are several cards with Victory 0.
@@joshuasilva7492 I see no gray area. Just use the proper wording. Defeated Headhunter is never discarded, just put into the victory display. "Discard" is the specific keyword.
@@DaletheCasualGamer ok you were right the rules FAQ says though the wording says any card leaves from play, it has to be a card that goes to a discard pile. So out of area card doesn’t count.

24:00, with the servant bot in play, you wouldn't be able to play For Justice to thwart the main scheme because of the "Patrol" keyword on the bot.

@@julienchampagne4461 That is correct, this scenario does not have the milano. It is parked at the museum entrance :p

23:50 minion has the Patrol status, does that not stop daredevils thwart attempt? ;) to many new cards to learn haha

I haven’t watch this yet but I’m very excited to see how you deal with this scenario. 😃
A lot of this campaign is dealt with by trembling in fear under my desk in the fetal position. ;)
😂. That went way better than my first play through of this scenario. After I got the 3rd Ghost from a boost I about flipped my table 😂. Good game!
Finally beat Ronan this morning. Took me a substantial amount of plays of each villain to win.
Great job!!!

can you use the milano card in scenario 2 of the campaign?
I absolutely hate that collection mechanic. So few opportunities to snag the Splendor VP too. Favorite moment - Groot for 6 with growth counters.
I am GROOT! :)
@ 28:35 when you use an ally from another champion to defend, shouldn't the psionic ghost be engaged with Groot since he was the target of the attack?
When another player defends, they become the target of the attack, and get all the "bonus" effects. Hope that helps, and happy gaming!
