That was a nice lesson and you explained it well.
I like to play B7 instead of B. Im using a closed C shape to move down to A. And then, making my life easier I use E7 instead of E.
But I play the chorus like that:
G E7
G E7
Closed G 4232 move up two frets to A
Move down to G and then E with 4447
You’re a great whistler!
I like to make an E major cord by baring the 4th fret and pinky on the 7th fret of the A string. I do the D with the same shape baring the 2nd fret. This is much more comfortable for me and usually sounds fine
