One time in band I started figuring out how to play the Mii Channel theme on my trumpet, and once other classmates noticed and joined in it eventually spiraled into the band director making it a song we would play at one of our concerts. Good times.

I remember seeing this video and wanting to join band and play flute just because of Jaiden. Our band director had us name our instruments and I named my flute Jaiden. Today is our first preformance!

Yesterday was my first competition. We preformed on a fancy stage at a university and did awesome. I got to spent the rest of the school day at urban air with my best friends.

Literally teaching my students how to Google for sheet music is how I kept them excited about practicing, and frankly, having to figure some things out like transposing and difficult rhythms and looking up musical notations or asking about them made them WAY better musicians than if I assigned them random stuff they didn't care about.
Seeing these older videos is charming. Nice to see how far Jaiden has come.

I'm greatful of your mom for letting you experience so many things like playing so many instruments, sports, art, etc. As a teen who never got too much to experience like playing so many instruments. Early age is the best time to experience everything they want to and find there passion.

My school also forced me to play recorder. The thing is I got to the point where the Star Spangled Banner was boring and moderately difficult to play because the music teacher was good at teaching. And I wasn’t the only person that no problem with it either. Then it set me up for a life with the ol’ Alto Saxophone.
I play the recorder and let me tell you, it is one of the easiest instruments to learn. You literally just blow into it softly and cover holes to make sounds.
Yeah but also, the recorder is one of the most obnoxious instruments ever created, and unless you can find the EXACT pitch at which to play, it just sounds horrible.

hello fellow orchestra member. i play the cello. i have the same strings as you.
I remember in my 4th and 5th-grade years, we had this thing in my music class called "Recorder Karate". I don't know how common it is, but it's basically playing different songs on the recorder and winning a belt every time you mastered a song. The belts were noting more than colored string we put at the ends of our recorders or case zippers, but I had fun with it.

The flute bit stuck with me so deeply that when I picked up band in middle school I ended up playing the flute, and I played the flute for 3 years, purely because of this bit.
Jaiden’s flute experience when picking instruments is similar to mine back in sixth grade. I was asked to play a f cord without literally any knowledge or experience.
I then played the flute for grades 7 and 8 but my breathing was so bad I could barely hold a note and I’m still surprised 5/6ish years later (last year of high school) that I passed that part of music class. Cuz I sucked butt.
Its very normal to see a twerking ballerina..

I have also gotten bored of learning piano music and attending recitals. I now basically only go on the piano when I feel like it: mainly to mess with it.

I eventually got my own brand-new full-sized trumpet, but that first year of band was not the best.

I have the same piano experience but with the violin. I took lessons with a family owned place but they got bought by another place that just had me play song after song for like 3 years and I got bored.

The whole "video game music" thing was how i kept up my skill with the trumpet during COVID. Also, i totally agree with the thing about pianists just playing classical. I played all sorts of stuff on the piano, and there's nothing wrong with that. That's like saying saxophone players can only play jazz music because saxophones are common jazz instruments. Any instrument can play anything, so long as the player knows how to play it well.

I took music class myself when I was in elementary school too, I was eager to learn how to play the violin but was never too good at trying to do it on my own
Dude i played the piano for 8 years too (stopped taking lessons about a year ago) and had the exact same routine of learn song, play song, learn new song, forget old song. Currently I just play songs I like from games or anime but I use synthesia instead of sheet music, it works better for me.

I play piano too, Jaiden. Basically my teachers were also hurling songs at me some of which I didn’t like. Also, I can relate to the noise problem because I used to practice with little kids and they were insane. I was in middle school at the time
I PLAYED THE CELLO IN THIRD GRADE AND 3 YEARS LATER STILL DO!!! I absolutely love the cello and string music and I think it’s so cool that you picked the cello. Just had my concert a little bit ago.

In forth grade there was a kid in my class who was great at piano. I mean like he had played his whole life! anyway There was a talent show at our school, and he entered with a song he composed about his baby sister (would it be a song?) and and I'm pretty sure he came in third. I don't know who the second place holder was, but first place was another pianist. who played the peanuts theme. And he was in 7th or 8th grade. I didn't attend the talent show, but I still wonder how a 4th grader, who composed his own song, COULD COME IN SECOND TO AN OLDER PIANIST WHO PLAYED A COPYRIGHTED SONG! sorry about the tangent. ran. whatever it is.

Unfortunately, there happens to be a myth about Apollo and a flute. Basicly Athena made the flute, but was made fun of, so she put a curse on the flute and threw it onto Earth. This is where some poor dude picks up the flute and begins to play it. The flute has goddess breath in it, so it sounded pretty good. Then Apollo was like, "You think that flute playing is good?" So they had a contest, and were evenly skilled. Apollo, who chose a lyre, decided to turn it into a play-while-singing contest. Obviously the flute-player lost and was therefore died. THE END.

The same thing happened at my school but instead of violins it was ukuleles and I always wanted to be the one with the special blue one with the design on the side so I was always the first one in class just so I could get that special ukulele
