I'm no wargamer and never played a tabletop wargame myself, but i remember playing PC game Panzer General when i was a kid, then i've played Panzer Corps a few years ago and now i wanted a game similar to those two, but with a bit more complexity added to them. I bought Battle of the Buldge just to learn that a tabletop version of the game exists. That's what brings me to this video as i am really curious about it. I'm definitely going to watch your series as i really liked this unboxing. It was a pleasure to watch. Who knows .. maybe i just found about a passion which i never knew i had 🙃
thanks for watching and I'm glad you found this helpful. Just don't use my videos as tutorials because I make lots mistakes, but I hope they give you some idea of how it's played!
Thanks for the unboxing. I was just searching for one for this game yesterday and couldn't find one, and then there you were. That said, I like what I see and the game has been ordered now! Hopefully we get to see you play this soon. I like the unboxing with a follow up game play video.
Big counters and well cut. What about your patented double-side tape and piece of paper stowage (Like WaW 85?)? That looks like it would work. I like to see your mini-play throughs to help me decide if a game is for me. You do a great job, thanksyou!
Thank you so much. I forgot all about the double sided tape trick. I got so excited to set up and play that I punched it all and threw away the sprues :) Where were you last night to remind me when I started punching counters :)??
@@CounterProductiveGames 😁 Finishing a game of Combat Commander Europe and setting up a WaW 85 scenario. Very busy in isolation! 😁 I will try to be more timely but when you're excited to start a game, things happen ( like tossed sprues). 🔥🎲🔥
@@MrNeverbeentoEurope And, so excited to try this one, I have to tear down my current C&C Napoleonics game to make room on the table. Too many games, not enough space!
I have no problem with paper maps, in fact I personaly prefer paper over mounted, but the problem I have with Compass Games earlier was the paper quality, i.e. even after just unboxing and fold out the maps, the folds of the paper began to brake (my copy of Silent War and Blitz for instance). But I have heard they have improved the paper quality in the recent time, so i think I will give it a try (CSS on my list) later this year. Nice unboxing, thanks.
You're welcome. Just finished reading the rules. It does look simple. I'll post some gameplay soon. Maybe that will help you out some more in making a decision.
I googled for their official online site compass games but it seems they shut it down. Where can i find a site with all their games to choose from and buy?
Thank you for asking. I went to their site and it worked for me www.compassgames.com/ you can also try amazon.com, miniaturemarket.com and nobleknight.com.
I guess there were only two tank types in the Battle of the Bulge. I never really thought about it, but yeah, that counter doesn't really depict an allied tank that I recognize.
@@vgovger4373 I wonder if it was a decision to keep cost down by just using one tank silhouette per side. And maybe the panther as it's a popular tank. Who knows...

Compass Games and mounted map? Big counters on the punch board with round corners?! What happened here??? !!! I look forward to the gameplay.
I'm super happy with the components. I read the rules and they do seem simple enough. Anxious to get this to the table.

Thanks for the comment. That has usually been my issue with paper maps in general is the fold lines wear pretty quickly.
Life offers enough complexity. I don't need it in my wargames.
I agree, thankfully this isn't too difficult. I wish they'd come out with more for this series.
thank you😃
Excellent review.
Thank you for watching!
Been on the fence; however, this looks nice - thanks for the unboxing.

@@CounterProductiveGames thanks a lot and keep up with the good work with unboxing :)
I don't know about that game, looks like every German tank is a panther, and I don't knock what that crazyness is on the American side?

@@CounterProductiveGames What cost could it be? It's just a change of image, you are still using the same ink.
@@vgovger4373 I have no idea, I was just taking a guess.
