The NFL really have to start adjusting its schedule to not overlap with my Arne & Carlos episode releases! LOL. The worst part is waking up excited for a new episode then realizing IT'S ONLY SATURDAY!
Trip sounds fabulous. Glad you gif not blow away, Arne .Enjoyed all the ‘shorts’ highlights. Thanks. Love the ‘Viking hats’ !!! Horns are hilarious . ❤x
Love the Viking knit hats, guys! 😂 you will be the hit on the ski trails, Carlos!! Arne-- the white sweater with your beautiful navy beaded doll dress is sooo good!! 😍 Wishing you both a Wonderful Holiday Season with Family and Friends! 🩵 Stay warm and well ✨️
We saw her (Aurora) a few weeks back over our house, the sky was all pink and purple. But the most special one was with Kate & you guys and all of our lovely quilting, knitting, and travel friends in March in Lofoten. Nice to be back there (in our mind) through your podcast just now. Love from the Netherlands S&A&B
Solar activity has been so dramatic lately that the Northern Lights have been visible all over the United States, even here in the Washington, DC area, and even as far south as the state of Georgia! It's been crazy, that old sun of ours just dancing up a storm!
Love the new collection, the sled dogs are great! And I think you referred to “yarn chicken”( running out of yarn before the project is finished), which is based on the 1950’s dangerous teenaged game of “playing chicken” with two cars racing towards each other- the one who turned away first to avoid a crash was the “chicken” - he was too afraid and so turned away to avoid a crash before running out of roadway.
Gentlemen, I have about a dozen of such quilt squares made by my Mothers family. Rather than make one large quilt, I had them all framed, and have made a magnificent “studio wall” with all of them in one of my guest rooms.! Thanks for all your inspiration!
I’m new to your channel and am enjoying watching as many episodes as I can. I so enjoy your chats and really love your gentle nature and kindness. I have no ability to knit in the round and it’s been many years since I’ve knitted anything as I am now a quilter. This video has absolutely inspired me to knit something. The fact that this beautiful collection is flat knitting made my heart sing. I love everything in this collection. Thanks for sharing your amazing life. Bless you both. ❤
I ordered my yarn online from Maine. Yarn will arrive in Washington this Tuesday. 🎉 I do have some yarn left from last years Christmas Stocking and some ornaments but wanted to make sure I was not playing yarn chicken . :)Thank You Arne and Carlos! for doing the mystery knit along another year. I learned a lot last year.
It’s Kit Kittridge! I’m so excited you got an American Girl doll!!! I have her and Kirsten, who is from Sweden, but has a Setesdal type sweater and outfits…
As I sit here in Adelaide with the temperature outside 37C, I listen with envy of your lovely knitted designs which I would never be able to wear! You have written 10 amazing books
I've always loved your designs but the polar bear collection is really amazing. The doll in her gorgeous dress is ready for Oscar night! Just so beautiful. 😊 ♥
My yarns arrived last night, here in North Carolina, yay! I definitely had to shop different online stores as emerald color was sold out, but I was told they’re restocking.
That cruise sounds amazing!!! And meanwhile, I hope you have a wonderful time in Japan, and thank you for leaving us with the knit-along while you are away. Kampai!
I would love a close up look at the piece behind you - a moose walking (by a lake?). Is it back lit, or a plate, or a globe? House tour, please! Thank you!
I'm sitting here laughing as you are talking about the aurora borealis. My daughter is a Virgo and I'm a Cancer. Your conversation is sounding just like ours. She's always correcting me. Ha, ha, ha!😂
I love the camaraderie and yet the real difference between your two personalities! Arne describes the magic of the Aurora and how it is sometimes visible without aid and sometimes intensified by a camera. Carlos notes detailed information, exact time, exact place, the toilet aspect, and Freja “needing a pee.” You two!
Thanks so much for your update about your latest cruise! Your new patterns are AMAZING!! Playing battery chicken is a hobby unto itself😉 - so GREAT that you won!!!
The new collection is fabulous! Especially love the polar bear design; the dickie is SO CUTE! Have a safe trip to Japan! Looking forward to seeing highlights from your trip.
We have the remnants of a Viking settlement here in L’Anse aux Meadows,Newfoundland…I went there to visit ,very interesting….they stage what it may have looked like and have the huts with actors dressed as they would have over 1000 years ago…
Thoroughly enjoyed this video. You two are a delight and always brighten my day. The new Rowan collection is fabulous. I’m looking forward to the MKAL too. My favorite yarn shop was sold out of Rowan Norwegian Wool but I was able to get the yarn elsewhere. Enjoy your trip to Japan! Safe travels.
Breakfast chocolate is a regular thing in my house and I always exclaim loudly for everyone to hear when I indulge. “Breakfast Chocolate” and then they tell me I’m bad lol
Love the polar bear designs. Amazing that you were able to see them in person on your trip. Also the Aurora for so many nights on your trip would have been spectacular. I managed to see a very faint one here in suburban Melbourne, Australia which was unbelievable. Through the camera lens it was quite pink.
It's been a great year for auroras in North America (i.e. Canada). The camera on my phone shows the colours, as you mentioned. You might remember a solar storm from August 1972? I will never forget it!! I might have talked about it before here because Arne has mentioned auroras from his childhood. Anyway I learned the August 1972 aurora was one of the most significant storms in history - my little kid 'gut' knew it too back then ;) I remember that the majority of that huge aurora was white for me but small bits of colour (not only green) were visible to my eye at times when the giant 'curtain' flapped. It looked so big and close I thought I could touch it. And I feel like I remember hearing it ??? Do you remember ever hearing an aurora, Arne? It was an incredible experience! I really enjoy your sit and knit for a bit episodes. The crazy quilt square you showed and your doll dress are lovely. Thank you both for sharing your experience with us!
Hahaha those hats! I love that Carlos's hat was mostly well-behaved. Arne's hat - uncontrollable! One horn back, one forward, both forward like a cow, both back, bouncing like bunny ears
Ah Arne, are you referring to the Chinese Year? This year is the Dragon, and next year is the Snake. Dogs are opposites of Dragons and are 6 years apart. I love the fun feel of the collection this year. It is uplifted by the colors and classic design features. Well done. I bet it will do very well!
I’m using the same yarn I used last year Caron simply soft so this years will match last years. I can’t wait for the KAL to start. I really enjoyed doing it last year.
It was fun to hear about your travels, see the new designs, and see what you are up to. Looking forward to the Knit along. Safe travels on your next adventure. ❤
Brilliant as usual, so glad you don't edit!!! I laughed so much I hurt, you guys keep it real. Arne, did you hear that Dolly donated one million dollars to the Tennessee areas that were damaged by the hurricane? She also has a new cookbook and a Lodge iron frying pan...Safe travels.❤❤❤❤❤
I want to make the Spitsbergen sweater, but I might have to substitute in an e-bike or two in remembrance of our sloppy, drizzly, messy bike ride! So messy I didn’t even take photos, even though I had my phone in a Zip-Loc baggie to protect it from the rain & grit. Such great memories! ❤
Thanks for clueing us in on this year’s KAL. I was able to get the Rowan wool, but last year I was late to order and RW was out of stock. In case anyone has a problem, I ordered Cascade Heritage sport and the stocking came out perfect. It was still a largish stocking. A grandchild took possession as soon as she saw it. 18 months old and that’s that! This year her brother HAS to have one, as he said. It’s so much fun! I have lots of knitting and Christmas prep to do but it’s calming to take a few minutes each day to knit a project many others around the world are knitting. Love your chats and thank you for all you share!
There was an interesting documentary on TV here in Canada on the polar bears of Svalbard. It highlighted the challenges they face with the warming climate. It was sad in parts and hopeful in parts. I really like your new designs, that's what made me think of it. I hope you are having a great trip !
I ordered my wool and it's here and waiting for the 1st of the month. Same here as far as the northern lights go. There's SO many patterns out for the American Dolls. Very nice gifts you received. Nice knitwear/designs. I actually have a cowl pattern with the chain-link in it. LOVE that blue doll dress. Our daylight savings is Nov. 3rd now. Time to end and eat some chocolates lol :)
I have an ocean going Norwegian built sailboat and ALL the logos on my boat have a Viking horned Helmut. I especially love the huge one on my sails! Being Norwegian myself, I now have to make that hat. It won't be difficult to reproduce. You look festive wearing them. I can't wait for the Advent Knit along. I can hardly believe it's been another year since last years' stocking! I missed out on last years' yarn colors for the project because it was sold out. Looks like I'm not getting red Norwegian Wool AGAIN!
Oh yes and the new American Girl doll is named Kit. Emily collected them when she was a girl in the 80’s and now my granddaughter has hers that she still loves and sews for now even though she is in her senior year in high school. Glad that Kit has a home in Norway. Emily’s first AG doll was Kirsten and she was Norwegian American. 😊
Waiting for the knit in the round conversion episode. I knit my Ranveig jumper after converting it and was happy with it but would love to know how you recommend doing it. Really wish Rowan would just do it that way from the beginning but understand that they have their own style and standards. Even with all the Norwegian purls I’d rather just knit especially in colourwork! My she’s getting so picky these days you might say.
I’m looking forward to your knit along boys. I ordered my yarn today, with no problem at all. (United Kingdom) I will admit I’ve not yet finished my July Christmas bird stocking, but I can’t always continue with that along side the knit along, and after, if needed. I can’t wait to see what you buy and do in Japan. I was in your time zone Tuesday to Thursday last week, and I thought of you both. I was in Brugge and Blankenburg, then moved onto Cherbourg, then back to the UK.
The American Girl doll is named Kit Kittredge. She has a series of books that tell of her curiosity and struggles during the Great Depression. My granddaughter is thrilled that she now has a new home in Norway.
In Nova Scotia 🇨🇦 We are pretty much the same as Norway; cm, litres, time goes back an hour this month, etc 😁 October 10th, the Northern Lights were so bright! The red was so bright it made my yard look like it was on fire. We saw all the colours; red, pink, yellow, green. So cool! As it started to fade and we couldn't see them with the naked eye anymore, my iPhone captured the lights. (Turn flash off, and put 3 second delay on)
No matter what is going on in the world or my life, you always make me smile, Thank you!
The polar bear sweater is absolutely ART!!! I am completely knocked out by it, fabulous design.
I love how Arne and Carlos own the most fashionable dolls in the world. I should have frocks as posh as your dolls wear. Love it!
I’m so happy that my sweater is back in Norway! The cruise was wonderful! Thank you!
My mind works like Arne, always thinking about my next project.
The NFL really have to start adjusting its schedule to not overlap with my Arne & Carlos episode releases! LOL. The worst part is waking up excited for a new episode then realizing IT'S ONLY SATURDAY!
That's hilarious. Just put the game on mute and listen to our boys, lol
Trip sounds fabulous. Glad you gif not blow away, Arne .Enjoyed all the ‘shorts’ highlights. Thanks.
Love the ‘Viking hats’ !!! Horns are hilarious .
❤x
I ❤the sable silk you used for Cher’s dress! The color is AMAZING! I love how it shifts and shines!
Love the Viking knit hats, guys! 😂 you will be the hit on the ski trails, Carlos!!
Arne-- the white sweater with your beautiful navy beaded doll dress is sooo good!! 😍
Wishing you both a Wonderful Holiday Season with Family and Friends! 🩵
Stay warm and well ✨️
So glad and amazed you got to view the Arrora so many times...we have been able to view it here Southwest Michigan USA
We saw her (Aurora) a few weeks back over our house, the sky was all pink and purple. But the most special one was with Kate & you guys and all of our lovely quilting, knitting, and travel friends in March in Lofoten. Nice to be back there (in our mind) through your podcast just now. Miss all three of you! Hope to see you again in the near future.
Solar activity has been so dramatic lately that the Northern Lights have been visible all over the United States, even here in the Washington, DC area, and even as far south as the state of Georgia! It's been crazy, that old sun of ours just dancing up a storm!
St. Petersburg, Fl too

A very beautiful and huge collection for Rowen!❤😊
Gentlemen, I have about a dozen of such quilt squares made by my Mothers family. Rather than make one large quilt, I had them all framed, and have made a magnificent “studio wall” with all of them in one of my guest rooms.! Thanks for all your inspiration!
A great Sunday visit, as always. Appreciate the unedited videos; so much better than edited. Great new designs. Looking forward to the KAL.
Wonderful episode, thank you all! 😊❤🎉

Welcome to the Arne & Carlos family! ❤
DEFINITELY Frame them!
So beautiful!

That is a stunning dress, I’d love to see Arne finish it up with a little mohair bolero jacket in electric blue or turquoise. ❤
Yes, my body clock is back on GMT today. Whoop woo. Loved your shorts from the last cruise , thanks
It’s Kit Kittridge! I’m so excited you got an American Girl doll!!! I have her and Kirsten, who is from Sweden, but has a Setesdal type sweater and outfits…
Another wonderful catch-up! Thanks so much and also, thank you for the information about the coal industry in the north. I had no idea! XOXO
As I sit here in Adelaide with the temperature outside 37C, I listen with envy of your lovely knitted designs which I would never be able to wear! You have written 10 amazing books
I love enjoying your talks while I knit before work. Thank you!
Enjoy your work!
Those hats…hilarious! Bravo to the creators!
Love, love the shelf behind you!!! You guys are so creative!😊. We appreciate you! Those hats are splendid! Thanks for sharing!😊
your hats are priceless, I laughed so hard as the horns kept going wonky.
I've always loved your designs but the polar bear collection is really amazing. The doll in her gorgeous dress is ready for Oscar night! Just so beautiful. 😊 ♥
❤️❤️
Can't wait for the knit along! 😊 thanks for this episode, so much fun listening to the both of you while I knit ❤ Have fun in Japan!
Thank you!
I NEED THAT VIKING HELMET PATTERN! 😂 you two of course look very fetching in them 😊 ps love the floral embroidery stitches on the crazy quilts
I love the buttoned up sweater with the cables going up it.
This was a nice visit with the two of you.
My yarns arrived last night, here in North Carolina, yay! I definitely had to shop different online stores as emerald color was sold out, but I was told they’re restocking.

I’m excited to do the mystery stocking pattern. I did the stocking last year and love it.
We are glad you are joining!
The new collection is fabulous! Especially love the polar bear design; the dickie is SO CUTE! Have a safe trip to Japan! Looking forward to seeing highlights from your trip.
OMG I LOVE THOSE HATS! I have to make one for my husband.

Your Christmas knit along last year was my favourite. Really looking forward to this years! 🇨🇦

We are as well!
Has the next cruised booked? Working a sock pattern .
Saved this episode so I could work on my stocking toe and listen to you. The dog sledge is awesome design!
I am buying those dog mittens asap! Those are fantastic

Twice this year, we've seen the Northern Lights in Ohio in the U.S. with the naked eye, and they were absolutely stunning!
Funny Viking Helmets !!! Great bear collection !!!

Thank you!
Such beautiful sweaters! And thank you for the great geography lesson. Sounds like an amazing country.
I already have my yarn ready for the knit a long!

Once I had an art teacher who told us to have a note/sketch book on a bed side table to put down your ideas.
The Northern Lights have been visible in Southern Alberta as well.
Hi Arne and Carlos. I think you have 13 books. Look forward everyday to watch the stocking update. Th ask you for sharing
BEAUTIFUL SWEATERS and Gloves
I live in the USA in north Alabama. We saw the aurora not long ago. We could see the colors here, but it was so much prettier on the camera.
In Nova Scotia 🇨🇦 We are pretty much the same as Norway; cm, litres, time goes back an hour this month, etc 😁 October 10th, the Northern Lights were so bright! Canada is in North America too 😉 We use metric and celsius. It’s only the US that still uses imperial and fahrenheit.
Love your Rowan design sweaters & would love to knit them in the round instead of flat. Thx.
You are welcome!
