This is very reminiscent of the Wedge that breaks right like this at Sebastian Inlet, east coast of Florida. Sebastion has more of a flat wall, vertical steel pier, that waves reflect off of so it's a bit different than this rock jetty. However, the takeoff is such that if you can time it properly you can take off on the left side of the peak like this and come through the backdoor as the peak pitches out. Both of these seem to be random on how much shoulder you may have once you shoot through the main peak. We Had the bottom fall out on one once and rolled down the face.....came up with a nice slice about the ankle from my fin that required six stiches......Thanks for sharing this video and soooooo glad you left the natural sound track the waves provides over some kids banging out "music"?

@@mvolatile8785 Way down in the comments is way better, than in the title or description. It's a problem that we're all learning to deal with. On the upside for locals at this spot - it's in Costa Rica, not Southern California. You're likely to see some increased traffic, but it should be transient in nature. If you're a local, and can actually surf - then you should always have the advantage over the outsiders.

I thought Japan was the only country that raped its coastline with oversized tetrapods placed along its entire coastline. Each of these stupid blocks require paying a patent fee to a local organisation that hold the patent rights, which in turn lobbies governments for more wasteful spending. The wedge is also next to a harbor entrance but at least they don't use tetrapods there. It's sad that surfers are just like rats, they make the most of a dilapidated environment, oblivious to its destruction as long as they can score while they're there, wherever that is. If surfers were less selfish and took the time to protect their environment, instead of driving with 4x4 on beaches and running over turtle nests so they can go "score" faster, the world would be a better place.
