Sarah Strong is big time! A sensational freshman. 22 points 13 rebounds in a big game. Will be one of the very best players to ever wear a UConn uniform!!
Sarah did not lose the game. She kept them in the game and helped them almost win. Great game. As a fan of women’s college basketball, both teams made the game entertaining.
IMHO, as professional journalists that question was fair game, they had to know it was coming. If the staff could perhaps they shouldn’t have sent Sarah out there for the post game. Paige handled as she should have. The journalists moved on and didn’t belabor the point, if they had, that would tip the scale to unprofessional behavior/rudeness. I hope that every team member goes through some sort of media training.
Paige understands that the season is still young, she’s a veteran player, and knows exactly what they will need to improve upon to be successful going forward. Sarah wears her feelings on her sleeve and does not care to talk much about losing. Right now, UCONN is really missing an inside presence, like Aliyah Edwards provided, and neither Ice or Jana are the answer so far 🤷🏻♂️
This is not the UCONN the world knows. Definitely not the same power house that everyone feared. But they always recruit well and they can build next year around Sarah Strong. She is a super star in the making!
Ice Brady and Jana El Alfy had 2 points and 6 rebounds in 19 minutes combined. UCONN is going to have more production from their center position if they want to beat the elite teams.
I agree Ice is mostly useless I am hoping Geno sticks with Jana as a starter and fingers crossed by the end of the season she gets it. Jana at least blocks out and usually boards pretty well. Not this game but She has been in double figures a few times and looks like she is improving little by little. She is raw right now leets not forge this is her 11th game in college. Sarah did amazing on the floor today as usual having the pressure to shoot 3 free throws as a freshman on the last seconds of the game is a lot 2 losses is okay their comeback is COMING Go HUSKIES 💙
I just want to say Sarah strong is as good as advertised! I didn't think so during the summer games but she is an amazing young player and looking like Roy in NCAA this year
I agree she needs to be this years Nika Muhl but damn she cant shoot worth shit. At least Nika could hit th outside shot. KK needs to drive the hoop and play D.
we are looking at two players that held our team together the past 12 games we’ve had. we’ve had little to no post presence all season and it’s put tremendous pressure on paige and sarah. sarah ended up playing the 4-5 almost 3 quarters which took away a lot from our game play plan. geno has harped every year that we aren’t gonna be good if we don’t have a dominate post presence and it’s gonna show in these big match ups
I absolutely hate it when people say you learn more from losing it's absolutely not true at all. You can take things from a loss but you dont learn more from losing. Any coach worth his salt so to speak will tell you that. Geno has said it many times Coach K from Duke has said it many times Staley has said it many times. You can learn just as much and more from winning not from losing. You can correct things you did wrong but learning how to play and win at the same time is what most coaches prefer.
I think if KK played down the stretch Uconn wins. I don't remember the last time i enjoyed watching anybody like i did watching Strong tonight. Lebron 1st pro game probably.
Sarah didn't lose this game. She was the best player on either team. 3 point shooting lost this game and no help from the centers. The centers needed to step up when JuJu goes around a pick. They didn't and that left her wide open. Geno put Morgan in there to fix that.
Yep! No dominant Center… we were best with Sarah at the 5 and the small lineup and full court pressure. We might take a page out of Nolan Richardson’s playbook and press ‘40 minutes of hell’.
@@geraldbutler5543 All right now (I’m a Gamecock first and foremost) don’t write a check we can’t cash! Be gracious! A lot can happen between now and February 16th, UCONN can right the ship with a healthy Azzi and Griffin back and we’ve not been looking great for a whole game lately. Be humble, be great!
This season has turned into the Paige and Sarah show. As good as those two are, that is not enuf. We need consistent contributions from our Shades, Brady, el-Affy and KK. I know Azzi is hurt but when she gets back we need her to reach her potential. Is Aubrey ever coming back?
I did not like the fact she was even at the press conference. Another more senior player could have replaced her, unless she really wanted to attend, as she "recovered". Sarah Strong was wonderful.
You have to give props to UConn for scheduling this game right before the break..... most top teams are not scheduling these types of games. Props to USC (SoCal) for scheduling this game also. This was a toss up game any way you look at it. SS is a beast.... zero issues with how she or any of her teammates played....

❤ and support you both. JuJu was prepared due to the outcome of the game last season. USC was ready for Paige, so everyone had to step up to get the win. Sarah, you have been 🔥burning the floor, so big ups to you. It's time for some solid consistency from the overall team. I still rock with UCONN🎉!!!
Both Paige and Sarah had a good game!! USC in the end made more plays at the end of the game and never panicked after nearly blowing an 18 point lead on the road.
Great game the team played well together, looking forward to seeing them play ball in the future. Don’t forget to do your homework and pass all your courses.
Watch UCONN for the next 8 games in league play when they hone their skills. Not only Azzi developing but with Aubrey Griffen's superb rebounding skills returning, especially on the offensive boards.
@@johnklein6040 I think they had to try given how bad the first half was going, I’m sure she felt like she could go, the medical staff felt she could and the coaching staff felt like she could contribute, so they tried but it didn’t work out. Yes it didn’t work out but to just say, as a fan, I think she is not ready and she should not play at all is ridiculous, the coaching & medical staff should make that call not us fans. My point is her entire season is not lost vs the past where she’s done for the season.
WE need Patterson, and Griffin back asap. Ice to the bench. Bueckers @ the point, Azzi @ the 2, Griffin @ the 3, Strong @ the 4 Patterson @ the 5. Griffin guards opponents best offensive opponent. KK, Shade, in and out for Griffin, fresh legs for 40 minutes
Ice is fully capable and a great athlete, she has been playing strong defense boxes out and rebounds. Ice needs to drive to the basket and lay it in similar to Sarah.
@@billfinn9536what games are you watching ? She was brutalized again last night . Geno yanked her after 3 minutes at the start of both halves . she is ineffective at both ends of the court
I don't think they should have put Sarah up there. She's just a freshman and you can tell she is too shy ( and NOT happy) ..Hopefully she will use this game to motivate her going forward..She's too good of a player..
This is part of the learning process for Sarah and yes she is a freshman but this is going to be one of many things to make her great. She is one of the best freshman basketball players I have seen in a very long time. I am a 50’s generation so I’ve seen them all. We’re (UConn) going to be alright and looking forward to having a healthy Azzi soon.
Geno did the right thing to put Sarah up here. He wants her to be a leader and facing up to the loss is part of it. Like he said- Sarah will run into a fire not away from it. Geno promised to get her ready for the next level and this is part of it.
Don’t disagree that Sarah Strong is exceptional. Not questioning it. But it’s been years since UCONN had an inside threat and it wasn’t Stewart … although she was a terrific rim protector. He hasn’t recruited a great inside threat in a long time. But he’s definitely recruited quality inside players.. top 10 national recruits. And none have developed into top scorers or rebounders/defenders. The closest one is Collier… who’s more a 3/4 than a true post scorer and rim protector. I won’t argue with their success. But the games changed. Players are far more skilled today and no one in the last 5 years has won a national title without a strong inside presence… no one! Say what you want, but Brady is less a threat now than she was as a freshman. Alfy was the U19 MVP in the worlds before her injury, and now she looks lost offensively. She spends more time looking to reverse the ball than getting deep in the post to score! He’s won more than anyone. But in my opinion, unless he starts having bigs play like bigs… they can’t win championships!
Spoken like a true "fan". Oblivious. UConn recruits all the same great bigs as the other programs. They just don't choose UConn for one reason or another. You play the hand your dealt. That's why Geno always has projects or international bigs coming in. Everybody wants them. El Alfy may be the one you're looking for. She just needs time to develop - probably the entire season, as opposed to rushing to develop and then feeling frustrated all the time. And there is a truly athletic big coming next season from Ireland. Her offensive skills are raw, but she has potential.
She took more than usual, unfortunately they did not fall. Really wish she run the offense though but hard to since she is being played off ball too much
YEAH, SARAH NEED NOT PONDER OVER THIS, SHE IS GOING TO HAVE A LOT OF THESE BIG GAME MOMENTS IN HER LIFE, JUST HAS LEARN HOW TO RISE ABOVE THE NERVES AND MAKE IT HAPPEN, LOTS OF SEASON LEFT TO PLAY, YOU KEEP TRUCKIN BABE 🤟
Strong, will only get stronger! Jana will get way better and Azzi played just 2 minutes. This team with all its guns loaded in the tournament will be way different and way better then what we just saw. The coach doesn’t look too worried. The Refs also seemed to want USC to win so that didn’t help too much either but in any case, The Freshman will learn from this.
USC looked to feed the ball down low for easy baskets. UCONN should have had more steals on defense by taking chances and overplaying then intercepting passes. The back door was open to Sarah all day and all night?
I’m disappointed in Paige’s playing in the limelight games - Louisville, ND & USC. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with her physically, I feel she has to get rewired mentally for the remainder of the season.
@@volfancp JuJu is closer mentally to DT, she has that killer instinct like DT & MJ. Paige it too selfless wanting to be a facilitator (Jason Kid/Chris Paul).
@@stevederr4927 That’s a bad analogy. Neither of those 2 were great shooters or scorers. A more apt comparison would be Isiah Thomas. He could score at will when he wanted to, but chose to facilitate, only taking over when the moment called.
@@u2nice3079 You mustn’t have watched UConn’s trek in last year’s postseason. Paige carried the team, much like DT did in her junior year postseason run. And before you say, Diana won a NC, the landscape is dramatically changed. Just compare their individual stats. There are so many good players & teams throughout the country now, the team Diana carried to the title would have a hard time getting out of the Sweet 16.
For now, Paige and Sarah are the most efficient post players that UConn has, because Jana and Ice are performing below expectations. The real problem, at the moment, is the very low 3 pts% (26%), but also from the line charity (59%); a couple of points higher would have been enough and the match would have had a different outcome. ND and USC are two good teams, and losing to them is sad but acceptable if UConn is going to profit from these losses
Notre Dane and now USC UConn struggles against top teams, this is highly unusual because in their conference games they roll? Basic plays on offense like, bounce passes, ball movement, screens , offensive rebounds were missing tonight? Basketball 🏀
@@TheDisruptiveOne I think she will play freely & more creatively. The UConn system and the way Geno is utilizing her is limiting her greatest asset - her ability to create for herself & others. Other than Sarah, the rest of the team seem unable to get her the ball in a position to create. I am flustered at UConn’s inability to place her in the best position to produce. In the WNBA, the ball will be in her hands.
@@FabrizioPati-i6f this is probably the most intelligent and thoughtful comment I’ve seen. People are freaking out but I’m not so shocked. UConn is a young team and needs more game experience . I’m impressed with how they were able to fight back in the 2nd half of the USC game, I was impressed they were able to get within 2 points at one point during the ND game after being down the entire game. They have a lot of fight and these losses feel closer than last year’s losses around this time, that has to speak for something. I hope that we can start playing 4 competitive quarters, and start consistently hitting our 3’s. I think things would have been different if Paige had a good shooting night and they played the 1st half the way they played the 2nd. Hoping come February KK gets more minutes, maybe even starts, Jana gets more minutes to develop and we have both Azzi and Aubrey back. I think both Sarah and Paige are doing what’s expected, I’m sure come March a light will ignite in Paige. I think it would be nice to see her play on ball a bit more.🤞🏼💙
They need heathy players especially Azzi. If they had her health they would have won tonight and against ND. Sarah will be their next great player. She made the right decision not going to South Carolina but it appears she is ending up playing the post more than she actually wanted too.
I said it on X at the beginning of the season. This team had to go small to get back in the game. But USC knew that if they were patient they ALWAYS had the option go get a quality inside basket.. always! UCONN can’t win a national championship without inside impact players. The players are there. They just aren’t being coached well, and they are an afterthought on offense. This team never runs anything down low. Never. They haven’t in years.
Geno and Chris D. have won 11 National championships (more than anyone), yet all these armchair coaches think they know better than him. smh Some players simply don't have the TALENT to meet UCONN standards! Ice Brady and El Alfy are not living up to that standard of talent and performance (neither is Chen). Sarah Strong is a textbook UCONN recruit. We will be in the final four AGAIN!!
I think the first part of your statement is correct, the last part probably not (just emotions speaking). Whether we have inside impact players is debatable. I don’t feel like Ice nor Jana are, at this point, impactful players. Yes we lack a dominant inside presence both offensively &/or defensively. I don’t think you can blame it all on the coaching staff (I mean they’ve won 11 Nattys). Some are great high school players against shorter & less skilled competition but never developed at the next level, can you say Amari DeBerry?
@@stevederr4927 Agreed, but remember, this is NOT the same coaching staff from all 11 national championships. The coaches have changed a lot in the past 15 years. I remember when Mosely was the big coach, we had several all Americans in the paint! The bigs moves these past 5-6 years have been average. Aaliyah and Dorka were the best one’s in the last few years and she took 3-4 years to develop. Stewie truly spoiled us! Who knows if Dorka hadn’t gotten hurt if we could have beaten South Carolina? Go huskies!
Folks, this game is on the coaching staff. Their time management didn’t help the ladies. We were tied with plenty of opportunities to score but UConn has been tentative in play making these last several years. I have followed UConn for over twenty years because they are a professional team and KNOW what to do in tight situation’s. Lately, they have lacked the confidence that previous teams have shown. It seems to be a maturity issue. We need that second half team EVERY game from now on if they want a chance to win the Championship this season. I hope they can do it! Go huskies! ❤
IMHO, looking objectively it’s not all on the Coaching staff. If we had of shot better, made fewer turnovers (nothing to do with the coaching staff), we could have won easily. If the small line up used in the 2nd half had played earlier we could have won, if the illegal screen on Paige had been a no call and/or Sarah not missed the two free throws, etc we could have won the game… we lost as a team in a game we could easily have won.
@@stevederr4927 I don’t agree. Paige should have FOULED JUJU right when she got the ball! They had over a minute left. She waited almost 6-10 seconds to do so. They would have given them more time to make a three point shot. The two shots missed prior was unfortunate but the staff should have told Paige to foul right away! She hesitated because she had 3 fouls on here.
@@JH-eg7mq So that one instant is the sole reason we lost the game, nah. You need to take your in the heat of the moment subjective fan glasses off, the two point loss was not solely on the coaching staff. If we had of won, you'd not have said that. The fact we turned the ball over 13 times isn't the coaching staff's fault, the fact they shot a much better FG % and 3 point % than UCONN isn't solely the coaches fault (I didn't see the coaches shoot one shot), the fact we were only 10-17 from the FT line is the coaching staff's fault (ridiculous), I didn't see Coach shoot one free throw. I never saw the coaching staff tell anyone not to foul late in the game. Face it we lost because as a TEAM we didn't shoot well and turned the ball over and still only lost by 2 points. Spew your venom somewhere else, our staff and players don't need it.
@@stevederr4927 Duh, it obvious the team fell short from not executing the proper game plan and Paige brought that up but who draws up plans during time outs? The coach. Geno is the best but this time they should have fouled JuJu faster to give themselves a chance. Ultimately, the team effort is responsible. The lack of shots lost the game. Let’s see how the coaching is when they go deep into the tournament? This team is NOT playing the way UConn teams have done in the past. If we don’t win a championship with Paige then she is bust. She is the one who needs help and coach pointed that out. But they still need to take some of the blame. Get real
This exposes a serious glaring flaw despite a deep talented roster the girls lack that third scoring force that will compliment the big game production of the solely reliable big game duo threat of Buechers and Strong. We will be outmatched by the soon to come South Carolinas and UCLAs. Any of the powerhouses able to throw bigs and/or playmaking guards at us. Notre Damn and USC exposed the urgency of that third scoring threat needing to be there. Be it a healthy Azzi a sudden deadly assassin attitude in Ashlynn Jana waking up from her doldrums or the reemergence of past veteran dynamic duo Caroline and Aubrey. This must be addressed and rectified or Paige will leave UConn with no claim of championships on her resume. A standard of previously generations of Husky hoop elite
Possibly…. But I think we lack a dominant big! Right now Ice Brady and Janet El Alfy aren’t factors offensively or defensively. Heck we only lost by 2 and could have easily won with better shooting &/or fewer turnovers, etc.
i 100% agree. strong is doing amazing down low but we need another big. i love ice a lot but we need her to be stronger and want it more or get another big to replace her
You're right the game wasn't decided by those free-throws the way the game went I was out coached the one player I thought would have had less ( not JUJU) played mostly the whole game
I liked how Paige cleared that up I liked kk in there she was a spark I think UConn should stop doing this double or having Paige lock off juju have Chen or vs ND have shade/or kk lock down…when UConn can’t hit threes at a decent clip they won’t win.
UConn may play a tough schedule out of conference but so do other teams. Re ND, they have to play against some tough ACC teams while UConn blows thru the BigEast in non competitive games. Every team suffers injuries, opponents don’t care. I see player’s stats when UConn wins, but when they lose it’s Geno’s fault.
JuJu run rings around Paige…is that simple! And, I love UConn, and lost respect for Geno, when he said that CC wasn’t ready for WNBA! She smashed 62 records!!! Ok Geno???
Are you blind? Ju Ju won the 1st half and Paige won the 2nd half. Geno was not wrong. CC was turnover prone, and her team record was 3-10 when the season started.
@@captain0310 Paige's points came off not being guarded by juju or off broken plays where juju was scrambling. It's clear that one on one juju is too big for Paige and that Paige can't guard juju
Dude, you’re so lost. He said what he said about her when she wasn’t playing well. He doesn’t need to apologize for that. He also said that she would get better as the season went on, which she did. He said her not making Olympic team would be best thing for her and it turned out to be. So simple how small minded CC’s insufferable fans are
Since your head is up Clark's ass, that tells me You couldn't see the game. No player on either team ran circles around anybody. Paige shut down watkins in the second half. She had a couple baskets and a few free throws. She did nothing spectacular.
uconn's offensive sets consist of continually giving up their dribble and then panicing trying to find Paige with an awkward pass C'mon Geno I don't see this team going too far in the tourament
then you really dont know much about the game. You can coach kids all you want they are the ones that have to bring that to the court. Geno has said many times they have to quit giving up there dribble. That is if you have watched his previous pressers. he stated it at least 3 times that I can remember. Look it was a 2 point loss between two great teams. No shame in that. I think getting Griffen back and hopefully Azzi to contribute the way she has when she played this year make a hug difference. Cheli looks like she is getting better and better the more time she gets. Sao they can play with anybody. Both losses USC and ND there team not just there stars shot lights out couldn't miss a shot and UConn was in both games.I would like to know what's not to far for you they will definitely make elite 8 probably final 4 again. most last year said they wont go far and the year before that said the same thing.
Tentative, hesitant, not assertive, to much thinking, not enough reacting. when you head to the hoop finish the drive, at the very least you can get a foul call.
Agreed! How many times has a player gotten into the paint and kicked the ball out instead of going to the rim? I think one of the coaches is teaching that and it sucks! We are in NOT on the foul line enough! It has been a LOT less these past few years due to lack of attacks. Other teams attack a lot more and get us into foul trouble. Wake up coaches!
UConn got spanked by Notre Dame…. USC won BY 2 POINTS 🤣 That isn’t much of a loss they damn near had em. Now comparing the players is a different story but even with that JuJu final score point is only 3 more points higher than what Paige’s is.. They won by two points 🤣 the hype is to much hype.
UConn is really good against the bad teams in the Big East but always bad against the good teams. So when they play good teams they lose because they didn’t play well. It’s never because the other team is just better.
They play and beat good teams year after year in the NCAA tourney. A 2point loss shows me how good they can be against really a great team. both there losses this year ND and USC they shot lights out way above there average for the season. Sometimes you just run into a buzz saw and the other team plays above there head. Im talking not the stairs but the secondary players.
@ one way of looking at their loss. But they lost on their home court to a team that had to cross the country. Being home is usually a 10 point advantage.
The made it to the final 3 teams last year with 6 players out for the season They have played this year with 4 freshmen and 4 sophomores. Also Chen is new. Paige is the only upper classman. That will change now that Azzi and Aubrey are coming back. They will make the difference. Sarah, Paige, Azzi and Ash will be enough offense. Chen and Morgan will also add offense. Kk and Aubrey will lead the defense. Jana and Ice have to pick it up
I love paige the same whether they loose are win juju is to needy for me sarah is going to be a beast after this look at her expression w e are still ok
Send Ice Brady home for good! WTF? Geno has lost his mind playing her! She belongs in Division III school! She has no business being on this team! There are high school teams she would not be a starter on! This is embarrassing AF.....tell me.....what has she contributed this year.....last year or in any game? Waiting......
@@volfancp Agreed! BOTH players need to practice more and step up to help the team out in March! I think ICE is a lazy player. Almost every game she plays she has 3 fouls within 5 minutes. She has barely any toughness coming from a weaker European league. She is good but intimidated so far. Go Huskies! Please kick some ass from now on! 😂😂😂😂
Hate to say it but Paige best chance to win the 'ship was the year they lost in that Sweet 16 game to Ohio State. Jana has get to get the reps in. we are looking at two players that held our team together the past 12 games we’ve had. we’ve had little to no post presence all season and it’s put tremendous pressure on paige and sarah. sarah ended up playing the 4-5 almost 3 quarters which took away a lot from our game play plan. geno has harped every year that we aren’t gonna be good if we don’t have a dominate post presence and it’s gonna show in these big match ups
100% right on the post presence, we need a dominant post presence offensively and defensively.
You lean more from losing than from winning. This was a great lesson for UCONN. Thankfully, this game was not the National Championship game.
Hang in there Sarah . Stay in the moment. Only good things will happen. 😊
i love paige and sarah so much!!!!
U can tell Sarah is hurting,,,,,, everything will b fine,,, Sarah will b one of the great ones,,,,
UConn needs to lose these types of games to win the bigger March games
Sarah didn't lose this game. She was the best player on either team. 3 point shooting lost this game and no help from the centers. The centers needed to step up when JuJu goes around a pick. They didn't and that left her wide open. Geno put Morgan in there to fix that.
Yep! No dominant Center… we were best with Sarah at the 5 and the small lineup and full court pressure. We might take a page out of Nolan Richardson’s playbook and press ‘40 minutes of hell’.
USC was hitting a high percentage in the first half, hard to overcome that when UCONN was struggling.🏀😳🏀😳🏀😳🏀😳🏀😳🏀
They still have to play against the real USC of wbb
Why would the reporter mention Sarah's missed free throw? There is no consideration at all on his part.
I think that’s part of being a professional journalist. I’m sure they had to know that question was coming. Paige handled it well.
That reporter needs to be fired for trying to throw Sarah under the BUS
I did not like the fact she was even at the press conference. Another more senior player could have replaced her, unless she really wanted to attend, as she "recovered". Sarah Strong was wonderful.
They are journalists that’s their job. They had to know that question was coming. Paige addressed it well!
You gals played hard. Just missed this one. Keep it up. Don't get down.
head up sarah, you made us proud ❤
she cost them the game juju exposed them
You have to give props to UConn for scheduling this game right before the break..... most top teams are not scheduling these types of games. Props to USC (SoCal) for scheduling this game also. This was a toss up game any way you look at it. SS is a beast.... zero issues with how she or any of her teammates played....

Following your original line of thinking, did Hannah expose USC? Dude get a life instead of being an obnoxious fanboy.
Sarah Strong is amazing.
Neither team will look the same, play the same end of Feb, beginning of March. A good practice game for both teams.
Both Paige and Sarah had a good game!! USC in the end made more plays at the end of the game and never panicked after nearly blowing an 18 point lead on the road.
We will get them in the tournament!
I think USC will live and die with JuJu. Can’t see them winning the Natty with UCLA, ND & SC.
I think that will be a big key! I also help Ice and Jana develop real quick!
I am not a UConn fan, but it was great to see Azzi Fudd on the court.
She was slow and not ready to play. What was good about that?
@@johnklein6040 Better than being lost for the whole season!
@stevederr4927 she currently cannot play. That's why they took her back out and she never came back in so as of right now she is lost.
Sarah Strong is already a great player. Only will get better over time! Keep you head up high, UConn loves you ❤️
WE need Patterson, and Griffin back asap. Ice to the bench. Bueckers @ the point, Azzi @ the 2, Griffin @ the 3, Strong @ the 4
Patterson @ the 5. Griffin guards opponents best offensive opponent. KK, Shade, in and out for Griffin, fresh legs for 40 minutes
I thought Patterson is out for the season?
Ice is fully capable and a great athlete, she has been playing strong defense boxes out and rebounds. Ice needs to drive to the basket and lay it in similar to Sarah.
UConn still have to play the real USC of wbb in Columbia sc
@@billfinn9536what games are you watching ? She was brutalized again last night . Geno yanked her after 3 minutes at the start of both halves . she is ineffective at both ends of the court
Patterson is out for year!
Sarah is a beast, she is just shy. Not everyone can interview like CC.
No one cares about CC here. Wait til she wins a championship then her fans can talk
@@theuconndaily Ouch! No journalistic unbiased reporting here! 😂
Not mad at this lost at all stay strong ladies 💙
Paige, take more shots. Be more aggressive. Be the leader.
She took more than usual, unfortunately they did not fall. Really wish she run the offense though but hard to since she is being played off ball too much
The way paige was so quick to defend sarah is so heartwarming🥹🥹
Paige knows how it feels to be a freshie that impacts the game big time. Sarah will only grow and be better each game. She is special
Thanks for defending Sarah Paige. Sheesh had to throw the free throw jab in there
Ik they had to talk about the bad things instead of all the hard work she put in to help her team with the come back in the 2nd half
@ luv this so much
There's two #1 first overall picks at this table for real
I love UConn but, there is only one!
I think Paige is for this class and I think Sarah quite possibly could be when her time comes. Heck she might one day be as good as Maya Moore!
Sarah strong hold the our head up. Your and your team are blessed, beautiful, strong, amazing. The rest of the games want be easy. We love you girls
I’m a UConn fan but as for the refs you are not telling the truth, we went to the line way more than USC
Azzi played 8 minutes.
I can’t see where the refs caused us to lose or USC to win, saying that the refs wanted USC to win just comes off as sour grapes.
@@stevederr4927usc won by refs I saw it live.
USC looked to feed the ball down low for easy baskets.
UCONN should have had more steals on defense by taking chances and overplaying then intercepting passes.
The back door was open to Sarah all day and all night?
Paige looked almost the same way as DT3 in the system. Only difference, Di had that mentality and will to takeover games and actually did it.
I’m disappointed in Paige’s playing in the limelight games - Louisville, ND & USC. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with her physically, I feel she has to get rewired mentally for the remainder of the season.
Paige is good, but she is no Diana Taurasi! Diana was a killer, no excuses!
There are so many good players & teams throughout the country now, the team Diana carried to the title would have a hard time getting out of the Sweet 16.
cant believe the way geno has coached paige out of being a point guard
For now, Paige and Sarah are the most efficient post players that UConn has, because Jana and Ice are performing below expectations. The real problem, at the moment, is the very low 3 pts% (26%), but also from the line charity (59%); a couple of points higher would have been enough and the match would have had a different outcome.
ND and USC are two good teams, and losing to them is sad but acceptable if UConn is going to profit from these losses
i am very curious to see how paige looks in the pros away from Geno and the UConn system.
Notre Dane and now USC
UConn struggles against top teams, this is highly unusual because in their conference games they roll?
@@GeneralRock114 And if Notre Dame had Maddy Westbeld healthy?
@@GeneralRock114 Yeah she wouldn’t be starting there.
You can say the same for the Irish ☘️, injuries are a factor on both sides.
Sarah Strong is so quiet & cute. 😊
Refs helped usc. Strong is Awsome and she will be a lot better. It’s how we end that is important.
You are both right ironically. The other players need to step up to the UConn Standard! Sarah Strong is the real deal finally!
If the small line up used in the 2nd half had played earlier we could have won, if the illegal screen on Paige had been a no call and/or Sarah not missed the two free throws, etc we could have won the game… we lost as a team in a game we could easily have won.
i do agree with the fact that i wish they played kk more. every minute she played she was outdoing usc
Heck we only lost by 2 and could have easily won with better shooting &/or fewer turnovers, etc.
i 100% agree. strong is doing amazing down low but we need another big. i love ice a lot but we need her to be stronger and want it more or get another big to replace her
Paige is 1st class. One of the many qualities she has that makes her the best all-round player in the country!5
You're right the game wasn't decided by those free-throws the way the game went I was out coached the one player I thought would have had less ( not JUJU) played mostly the whole game
? Can you explain? Not following…
Geno should've played KK in the 4th quarter sooner
Kk wasn’t that great! An haven’t been for awhile
I liked how Paige cleared that up I liked kk in there she was a spark I think UConn should stop doing this double or having Paige lock off juju have Chen or vs ND have shade/or kk lock down…when UConn can’t hit threes at a decent clip they won’t win.
Paige is too passive as a PG…better as a SG.
Paige was player of the year as a point gaurd
She did not play PG this season
UConn may play a tough schedule out of conference but so do other teams. Re ND, they have to play against some tough ACC teams while UConn blows thru the BigEast in non competitive games. Every team suffers injuries, opponents don’t care. I see player’s stats when UConn wins, but when they lose it’s Geno’s fault.
😂Paige practice media training😂

Sarah is tough! 💪🏾
uconn's offensive sets consist of continually giving up their dribble and then panicing trying to find Paige with an awkward pass C'mon Geno I don't see this team going too far in the tourament
then you really dont know much about the game.
USC beat the refs and UConn 17 free throws to 6. and most of the 6 was in the final minutes when they had to foul

Paige outplayed JuJu in the 2nd half. JuJu got some free-throws when Uconn had to foul or she basically got shutdown by Paige
UConn is really good against the bad teams in the Big East but always bad against the good teams. So when they play good teams they lose because they didn’t play well. It’s never because the other team is just better.
Final 4 15 out of the last 16 years. It will never happen again
Too many good teams now
They play and beat good teams year after year in the NCAA tourney.
Paige is the only
upper classman. That will change now that Azzi and Aubrey are coming back. They will make the difference. Sarah, Paige, Azzi and Ash will be enough offense. Chen and Morgan will also add offense.
Kk and Aubrey will lead the defense.

juju the best ever
Juju is great, but she has plenty of help. She struggled mightily in the 2nd half. Her teammates saved her butt. She is no better than Sarah Strong. Facts. She is good, but CC was better all around.
I agree....juju...gets way over hype ed. She was a claifornia ( cattered to) high school player. She carries and travels with the ball alot. Paige is Paige...sleepy Paige.
These women are trying, but CC s style last college season was so transparent and uplifting. Truely she is ( CC) one of a kind...in a class of her own!!@@volfancp
21 cost them the game. Play after play. She had no place playing in this game. Congrats to JuJu
Paige came out slow. Its her biggest weakness.
@@SloppyLogic she had 22 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals. They clearly would’ve been much worse off without her so pipe down
@@SloppyLogic Wait, are you saying Sarah Strong, arguably the best player on the floor tonight & the reason UConn stayed into the game did instead cost them the game?
You're a clown. That is the most non informed comment I've heard tonight. Remember, it's better to be thought of as a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt
@@mauroradice7845their name says it all. Sloppy logic cuz it don’t make no damn sense
BE AWARE THERE IS A "COLD" GOING AROUND THE CITY OF LA... MORE THAN HALF THE PEOPLE I KNOW HAVE IT OR HAD IT WITH IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS!!!! HOPE YOU DO NOT GET IT!!! Some have it for 3 days others for a week or more!!! Just hope it is not spread by being in connect with the other team!!! I know this is not a basketball related topic but your well being more important than losing a game!!! Please, I am only warning you not to scare you!!! Your right the two halves were not the same!!! If you had won one quarter in the first half the win would have been yours!!!! "Remember one smooth straight move to the basket and the hand ends in the basket for the bucket; is the definition of aiming!!!!!" GO UCONN HUSKIE LADIES!!!
Page not cc cc would of shot 35 page can't take over game like cc no comparison stop doing it you got beat at home
Nobody mention cc here lmao...cc is building an entire mansion and living mortgage free in your head....but you right Paige is not CC she is Paige and CC is CC period.
@@Lorre4 you’re acting like they lost by 80 they lost by 2 so stop comparing players when one of them is not even still in college
CC fans think she’s the greatest thing on gods green earth. She’s not.
@@nkesejames209 not really just beiikers is over rated and she can't take game over like cc or even ju just she's same player she was as freshman a steady 20 points that doesn't get it done and she plays with all 5 star recruits it still can't get it done
@@Bmyluv4u tell your jealous uconn coach that ate crow all yr bout cc
