- The frequently used common nomenclature of simple organic molecules is done by attaching prefixes like n-, iso-, sec-, tert-/t- and neo-. This naming systems is also utilized in IUPAC nomenclature for branches most of the time. So, this concept is used maximum times in naming organic chemistry therefore here, I am sharing all the concepts with detailed explanation of each examples.
Topic: Common naming/nomenclature
Subtopic: primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary carbon concept. N, iso, sec, tert and neo concepts with several examples and practice questions.

I really thank you for this video because I was very confused by this naming and I watched a lot of videos but you cleared all my confusions.
Thank you so much. If I could ask for your help, Can you support our channel and our work by asking your fellow classmates to watch our channel's videos and ask questions if they have doubt in any topic related to chemistry.
Yes you are right.😊
It was really helpful after watching tons of videos
Thank u mam!!
Love u for this!!😊
I always skip ques which use these type of iso ,sec but now. I can easily do such type of question
Thank u ma'am a lot

At such a young age how nicely u have taught the concept of iso ,sec and neo organic molecules.🙏
Wonderful explanation di🤩
Thank u.
It's very useful
Well explained 🥰
Appreciate your efforts for teaching the needy science students for free.!! You are the best example of humanity..!! 😊
Thank you Tushar for your support.

Thank you Mani, I may think of that in future but as of now I have my research work to finish. Much appreciated.
thanku mam for your nice explanation
Great lecture 👍 Madam
You were really good at it. Mam, iso-propyl alcohol wala example nhi smjh aaya
Her explanation is so good
Hi, this is a really great video, thankyou so much. I had a question though, are all neo tertiary as all iso are secondary?
I should say, this video is too good. But underrated.
Thanks mam for the video
Mam how your 2nd point i.e- 2nd last carbon is methyl. How it applicable in iso propyl
Excellent..
Thanks for clearing my doubts
Thanks a lot mam for well explained
Thanks for liking
Simple and easy explanation
Mam plz discuss about allyic & vinlyic carbon
I have taught a bit about it in IUPAC nomenclature video
Let me know what content you are exactly looking for.

GOD BLESS YOU Mam,Thanks Mam
It's my pleasure
Thanku so much mam
Thank you so much mam crystal clear.. On this topic.. ❤❤❤❤❤
Good conceptual vdo😃
6:07 mam in iso the functional group should be attached to primary carbon but IN Isopropyl OH group is attached to secondary carbon then how is it called as iso please tell me the reason
If you attach OH to primary carbon in this case it will become n-propyl alcohol. So this is an exception that you are supposed to remember. Iso-propyl alcohol can also be called as sec-propyl alcohol.
How SWEET had your taught it MADAM !!!!? 💪👌❤️
Thanks a lot mam😊😊😊😊😊😊😊🙂🙂☺️☺️☺️
Very nice vedio mam
I wish I found this channel before.....😭
Subscribe it!
Thank you so much 🥰
Love you mam
Bht achche se smjh aaya
In isopropyl alcohol oh group is not attached to primary carbon.. Isn't it contradicting.. Pls reply
I already specified that as exception....Chemistry is full of exceptions 😃
Ma'am in my book, it is written that when 2 methyl are attached to second carbon then it is said to be neo but u taught when 2 methyl are attached to second last then it is neo.
I am but confused in this point.
Yes Himanshu, usually simpler explanations is what you said. But, when the chain length grows and primary carbon has functional group attached then the neo carbon will be second last. That's more accurate explanation.
Important thing is that you identify the group. So you can use your trick as well.

Excellent teaching mam but can you please upload videos basing on priority order of functional groups in organic chemistry
Yes i will do that during IUPAC nomenclature. Lakshman i'll start IUPAC in first week of November.
I have started with IUPAC nomenclature
Thank you madam
